Northmont coach found with teen girl resigns
By Doug Page and Kyle Nagel
ENGLEWOOD —Loren P. Meadows, a Northmont High School teacher and coach, resigned Thursday, June 25, two days after he was arrested on resisting arrest and obstructing official business charges in Clinton County.
Meadows submitted his one-sentence resignation letter at 1 p.m.
Meanwhile, Englewood police chief Mark Brownfield said, “After our investigation, there are no indications of any crime begin committed in our jurisdiction.”
The investigation in Union, where Meadows lives, is continuing, said Lt. Steve Watern. Watern would not comment further.
Meadows, 35, was a social studies teacher, assistant football coach and head boys and girls track coach at Northmont.
Meadows was arrested shortly after midnight on Tuesday after Clinton County sheriff’s deputies found Meadows and a 17-year-old girl from Englewood both partially clothed in her car parked in a secluded area of Clarksville. Meadows struggled with deputies and was Tasered during the arrest.
During subsequent interviews with deputies, Meadows and the girl said they had a four-month-long sexual relationship that began while she was a student of his and a member of his track team. They denied that any sexual activity occurred in the car Tuesday.
