Lowery big loss going into NCAA tourney
Dayton has been snake-bitten the last two years, losing freshman star Chris Wright for 11 weeks last season, which probably cost the team an NCAA bid, and suffering another setback with the loss of point guard Rob Lowery this season.
The 6-foot-3 junior brought a swagger to the team and is also someone who could create his own shot. He was the Flyers’ third-leading scorer, and for a team that’s often challenged on the offensive end, that’s a huge blow.
UD was 22-3 with Lowery and has gone 4-4 without him.
“He gave us different looks,” senior forward Charles Little said. “It sucks that he can’t be there. He was in my room (Sunday) night a little bit, and he was down about not not being able to play.”
UD coach Brian Gregory said where Lowery is missed most is in his “ability to wear down the other team’s point guard. But this team, maybe better than last year, has accepted injuries and has been able to adjust.”

We immediately felt the loss of Rob,and it clearly is a bigger challenge without him. He will still be our biggest cheerleader at the Dance. Also, think how great it will be to have him back next year.By OSU Joe

UD is a bunch of drama queens. Pack the UD Barn when the big boys play. OSU and Louisville will show Flyers fans how the game is played.By deena

All kidding aside…UD is a great program. I’m a blow-hard OSU fan. Our football team chokes there chicken every year….and our BB team will do the same this year. The Big 10 should probably only have 5 teams in the tourney this year. I think Sienna will beat us this year.By OSU Joe (the real one)

I have the “little weenie” complex. I enjoy coming on here and making fun of UD to make up for my lack of size. My fellow Buckeye fans threw me out of the OSU blog group because I am such a tool, so I come here instead.By chase baker

my football team is a bunch of chokers who can’t beat an SEC team, so I’m left with the basketball team. Don’t worry you won’t hear anymore from me after we lose to Sienna.By Jim O'Hora

Losing Rob hurt us most in sapping Londons stamina as he had to play more. Rob is a future star but was very erratic and prone to turn overs, or at least it seemed so in my listening to games and hearing Bucky talk about him. It still hurts as he was growing and learning which will hurt next year as well. But I think we still have a chance now and even more so next year.By OSU Joe (It's me now)

I’m sorry UD fans. Sports in Columbus these days suck. Bunch of blow hards up here…nobody cares about our BB team. I’m really depressed. Go Dayton…you guys are really tough. We are so jealous up here that Chris Wright didn’t come to our school and take us to the next level. But why would he want to come to this league? Go CW…kick some butt!!!By Bucky
