UD’s odds to win it all: 750-to-1

I was cruising through USA Today’s NCAA tournament preview section yesterday and stumbled upon Danny Sheridan’s odds to win it all.

Sheridan has UD at 750:1. That’s the 46th-best odds on the list of 65 teams. So does that mean that Vegas would’ve made the Flyers a 12 seed?

West Virginia, the Flyers’ first-round opponent, is a 60:1 pick. The Mountaineers have the 19th-best odds, which means they’d be a 5 seed if you went with the odds.

That is not bad news if you’re a Flyer fan, of course, because 12 seeds historically give 5 seeds a tough time.

In case you were wondering, Sheridan’s favorite is North Carolina, at 4:1.

Odds of other regional teams of interest:

Ohio State is 90:1. Xavier is 100:1. Butler is 125:1 and right in the middle of the pack.

Temple, like UD, is 750:1.

The longest long shot is Chattanooga, at 5 trillion-to-1. To be honest, I didn’t even know Chattanooga was in the tourney, so that makes sense.

It looks like it will be UD & Ohio State in the Elite 8 playing each other.

WVU is going to destroy UD! A 30 point win is not out of the question. UD is a soft team playing in a soft league. Absolutely NO comparison to the BEAST

Ohio State will not get out of the second round. WVU routed them at OSU by 29 points. As for UD, the A 10 is weak. WVU will win due to their defense and experience in the NCAA tour a year ago. LET’s GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!

Whatever the odds, stay within yourself. Play your own game and take one game at a time. Yes, anything can happen. Go Flyers! Athleticism, grit, and present-moment awareness and focus. You can do it!!!

If UD can’t compete agains the Big East, why have they beaten Marquette, Pitt and Louisville (twice) in the last 3 seasons?

I wouldn’t bet against UD on a neutral site. Especially since they are the underdog and everyone loves the underdog at these venues.

LOL! UD has as much chance winning as i would have beating Tiger in the masters by 19 strokes. They dont even belong in there.

Pitt was without one of it’s top players and honestley overlooked the Flyers. Louisville was taken to the wire each time WVU played them, with 3 freshman starters, glad you beat them. WVU is focused and is not looking past anyone. Go Mountaineers!!!

WVA lost to KY and Davidson and had trouble w/ Cleveland St. They also lost to Pitts twice and Louisville twicw, Big East teams we’ve beaten recently. Finally, they lost to Marquette, a Big East team we beat handily at a neutral site. Yeah, this looks like a real mismatch—for WVA. Go Flyers!!!

No doubt that WV plays in a tougher league and on the average day is the better team. However, any game in the dance is no average day. To say that the Flyers have no chance of pulling off the upset is a dumb statement. Do I expect them to win? No. But, if Bob is dumb enough to play zone against the Flyers then I would say that UD has a shot. All it takes is for a couple of good shots to go down and good FT shooting and we will be there in the final minutes. Even though I am a Flyers fan I will be rooting for Xavier and Temple. I love A-10 basketball and hope that all three teams make a good showing.

Odds that Cryers fans will blame loss to WVU on refs = 2:1

But to he honest….X-avier fans are much worse. We b***h and moan on every call of every game. David West and Thad taught all the X fans this tactic. We are the worst…much worse than UD fans.

i dont think they put this comment box here to trash dayton and xavier dont have your own website to say all your crap. UD will win on Fri you have to have hope! Plus X fans if you were smart then you would want other teams in your conference to go far. All I saying is
