UD coaches staying busy with basketball camps
Dayton coaches are in the midst of camp season this month. They’re finishing up the first of two weeks of individual instruction. They’ll host a whopping 27 schools at their team camp this weekend, have another youth session next week and then stage a father-son camp June 27-28.
The Flyers’ success of late has made the team camp a popular event. Spots filled up quickly, and many schools had to be turned away.
“We could have had 50, but we try to limit it so everyone has a good experience,” coach Brian Gregory said.
UD will entertain teams from five states, including Charles Little’s alma mater, Cleveland High School in Tennessee.
Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (Marcus Johnson’s former school) and Columbus Brookhaven (Chris Johnson) will be here, and the response from local programs has been strong. Centerville, Dunbar, Wayne, Chaminade-Julienne, Jefferson, Northmont, Alter, Troy and Miamisburg all will participate.
