Wright still thinks highly of Dayton

Cameron Wright, a Cleveland Benedictine High School guard, is giving Dayton serious consideration while also weighing scholarship offers from Indiana, Wisconsin, Akron, Cleveland State and Ohio U.

He visited UD last month and said he was “shocked” to see the big-time facilities and enjoyed his tour of the campus and time spent with the coaches.

Speaking with the Dayton Daily News on Thursday, the 6-foot-5 senior-to-be said nothing’s changed.

“I feel the same way about Dayton. I still like them a lot. I’m still in deep thought, just not ready to make my decision yet,” Wright said.

Wright was once committed to Ohio State before the Buckeyes reportedly pulled their scholarship offer after landing higher-rated prospects. OSU has gotten an incredible five commitments from players ranked in the top-100 nationally.

The University of Dayton is becoming the place to play college basketball. The reputation for having some of the best fans in the country and a coach who is not afraid to play you will bring the Flyers to heights it hasn’t seen for years….

No the same heights… conference play and road games will doom UD year in and year out… play a cupcake schedule and you get a pass to the NCAA’s… Gregory just pulls the wool over your eyes

Charles is bitter the X game was sold out before he got tickets. If he traveled he could have seen Pitt, WV Louisville, Carolina, Ohio State, Marquette and a few other “patsys”. BG is putting Dayton on the map!

Charles is just a bitter Wright State fan. He’s got nothing better to do than to comment on a UD article. I feel sorry for him actually.

Yes, Charles. West Virginia was really a patsy. I think Gregory pulled the wool over Huggins’ eyes!

UD wins one game in 25 years and they start pounding their chest like a little kid. When OSU wins one game in the NCAA tournament, it is a disappointment. UD is a mid-major, always has been always will be.

And know we have an OSU fan showing his class. Once again… enough said!

Hey Mike, OSU must have been really disappointed this year in the tourney. Not only did the Suckeyes not win at least one game, but they got beat by a lowly mid major. Matta is a joke. There is a reason that his talented players all leave after one year.

I think it is great that DDN allows idiots to post on this site….and you can do it anonymously. What a great deal for these fools living in their mommy and daddy’s basement. Get a life you doofus’ The sensible folks in the UD community enjoy reading articles about our student atheletes. Great job Doug & DDN!

I laugh every time I read these posts from UD fans. I’m still laughing at RR’s post because I can’t figure it out. The Flyers and their fans are legends in their own minds, full of huff and puff. Come up with a decent schedule and you MIGHT get some respect. GO BUCS

Cleveland, isnt there a ‘k’ in ‘bucks’? I think UD has a lot to be proud of, beat a WVU team in the tourney that pounded OSU, while OSU lost to Siena in what was essentially a home game for them. I am on OSU fan as well, I hold season tickets to the ‘shoe, and appreciate their bball team, although being a Dayton resident I normally attend UD games. But UD is certainly no slouch, 8-0 against the Big East the past 3 years is nothing to shrug at, especially when those wins include Pitt, Louisville (x2), Marquette, and WVa. A lot of those teams OSU has failed to beat during the same period.

I always sees these flip comments about UD schedule. News flash - College Major B-Ball programs DO NOT want to play any up and coming mid-majors (read UD or WSU)there is no upside for them. Speaking of UD they should get off their high horse and get a local series going with Wright State. Not UD or WSU grad, Just an outsiders take…
