Flyers win, but two injured
Chris Wright had 15 points and eight rebounds and Mickey Perry added 15 points as Dayton pulled away in the second half for a 71-52 victory over Presbyterian tonight.
The win may have been costly, though.
Chris Johnson and Marcus Johnson were both injured in the first half and didn’t return.
Chris Johnson, the team’s leading rebounder and second-leading scorer, took a blow to the face about two minutes into the game. Marcus Johnson, the Flyers’ third-leading scorer, suffered a sprained right ankle.
The Flyers (8-2) led by just one at halftime but had a 17-0 run midway through the second half to pull away from the Blue Hose (2-10).

First of all I hope both players return healthy and finish the season. With that aside I didn’t realize UD played a non conference church leauge schedule? UD will prob slip into tourney but loose easily in the first round. But who knows, they could draw Baptist Tabernacle??

Let’s look at Presbyterians’ recent schedule. North Carolina, Ohio State, Dayton. They are trying to build a program.

Geez…how quickly you guys forget about Georgia Tech, Villanova, K-State, Creighton, miami, and George Mason….a team doesn’t have to play a quality team everytime out on the floor. Go look at OSUs schedule..they have a cupcake OOC schedule yet are ranked in the top 25.

Wow, these schedule comments are just plain ignorant. If Dayton scheduled a cupcake, they are just emulating class programs like UNC and OSU. They have scheduled a number of tough teams, as Andy pointed out. And it ignores how difficult it is for Dayton to get tough teams to come to UD Arena to play them. Go ahead and tell us the glass house you live in (i.e., who you root for) and let us check out their schedule …

Quit crying about how no one wants to play in UD Arena. That’s total BS…….If X, Butler, Gonzaga, Temple etc can schedule teams from power conferences so can UD. I also don’t want to hear that UD needs the revenue that the home games generate because they have to fund the football team. Don’t you think other schools have expenses? Let’s face it, UD won’t schedule the big boys because they know that they can’t hang with them. UD would lose the majority of the games. Let’s see…..one win and two losses this year, Hmmm, I guess that says it all.
