Former UD point guard now looking at Louisville

Juwan Staten, the Dayton native and former University of Dayton point guard, is scheduled to visit Louisville on Tuesday as he searches for a new school, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported.

The newspaper said that Staten is also considering Texas, South Carolina, Miami and Baylor.

Staten had previously announced he would transfer from Dayton to Penn State. Then, PSU coach Ed DeChellis left Penn State for Navy on Monday, causing Staten to reopen his transfer.

Staten told the Courier-Journal: “The program is definitely something I can relate to because that’s the way I’ve been playing most of my life. They like to get up and be aggressive on defense, and that’s something I like, too.”
