MVFCA spring Combine set for Fairmont’s Roush Stadium on Sunday, May 17
Dayton area high school football players won’t want to miss this.
If your goal is to play in college or simply measure yourself against your peers, then it’s your time to shine.
The Miami Valley Football Coaches Association (MVFCA) is conducting a prep combine at Fairmont High School’s Chester A. Roush Stadium in Kettering on Sunday, May 17. Registration ($20) begins at 1 p.m. with competition at 2 p.m.
Athletes entering their sophomore, junior and senior years this fall will be tested in the 40-yard dash, shuttle run and broad jump in cleats on FieldTurf. Then they’ll head indoors for the bench press and vertical leap in gym shoes.
“The combine results are compiled and sent to more than 200 college coaching staffs,” said Mark Jenkins, Fairmont’s assistant varsity coach and combine coordinator. “It’s a great opportunity to compete in the off-season against kids from around the Miami Valley and see how you compare.”
Jenkins said the money raised from the registration fee helps fund MVFCA scholarships for deserving area football players.
