Wayne-McKinley consider 2-game series

WAYNE CB TERRENCE TALBOTT’S

ANKLE/FOOT IS HEALING; HE

COULD GET GO-AHEAD TO PLAY

VS. GLENVILLE TARBLOODERS

===Selfishly, Chick Ludwig would rather see a home-and-home series between Wayne and Cincinnati Elder. Playing in “The Pit” will give Wayne players, coaches and fans memories that will last a lifetime.===

Hey, Wayne Warriors fans, how does this sound …

A home-and-home series with the Canton McKinley Bulldogs.

The two teams are considering playing again.

Not once, but twice.

“They (McKinley) want us to do a two-year deal where we go back up there next year (2010) and then they come here the year after (2011), but that hasn’t been finalized yet,” Wayne coach Jay Minton said. “We’re going to see how this week goes and make a decision based on where we feel like we’re at. It was a great atmosphere. It’s a great place to play.”

After beating Canton McKinley, 27-14, in front of an estimated 8,500 spectators at Canton’s Fawcett Stadium on Saturday night, Sept. 5, the Warriors (2-0) host mighty Cleveland Glenville (1-1) on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m.

Glenville rebounded from a 14-13 opening loss to Cleveland St. Ignatius with a 35-14 victory over Reynoldsburg.

Wayne senior cornerback Terrence Talbott, who missed the first two games with a foot and ankle injury, has a chance to be back in the starting lineup against the Glenville Tarblooders.

“The doctors tell us Terrence should be back in this week,” Minton said. “We’re keeping our fingers crossed. That’ll really help us out in the secondary.”
