CJ’s Staley commits to Northern Kentucky
DAYTON - John Staley, a 6-foot-5 senior center at Chaminade Julienne High School, has verbally committed to play basketball at Northern Kentucky University.
A starter since his sophomore season, Staley was the most consistent player for the Eagles (10-13) last season. He averaged 17.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and shot 56.3 percent from the floor (169 for 300).
He tallied double figures in scoring in every game and put up a high 28 in a 65-55 setback to Alter. He also saved his best for last, averaging 21.6 points over the final five games.
He was a main reason why CJ recovered from an 0-7 start to finish with a 10-6 run.
Staley is the son of head coach Joe Staley, a 1972 Chaminade grad.
NKU was 21-9 last season and qualified for the NCAA Division II tournament.

John will tear it up at Northern Ky, just like he did at the Moe Stank Summer Classic in Bartle Doo last month!
