West Carrollton’s Slauter, Stites sign with colleges

West Carrollton High School seniors Rachel Slauter and Randy Stites have signed to play college athletics.

Slauter will play soccer at St. Joseph’s College, an NCAA Division II program at Rensselaer, Ind.

As a senior, she was team MVP, first team All-GWOC South, first team All-Dayton South, an OSCA Scholar Athlete and the Edward Jones athlete of the month for October.

She plans to be a business major.

Stites has signed to play football for Lindsey Wilson College at Columbia, Ky., an NAIA program.

A running back, defensive back and returner, Stites was first team All-GWOC South and second team All-Southwest District as a senior. He had 64 rushes for 373 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 20 receptions for 332 yards and four more TDs.

“Education is the key to most great paths that we can choose to take and Rachel and Randy made sure that they took care of their studies in order to choose this path,” said Pirates athletic director Rob Dement.
