Teacher Academy cut
I don’t know if you saw my story in the Pulse about Butler Tech cutting Lakota West’s Teacher Academy program, but I wanted to follow up here on the blog.
I am meeting with Butler Tech Monday to talk about all sorts of budget concerns and issues brought to my attention by residents and school board members. The board recently made some cuts to programs, including the Butler Tech online program. I will follow up with stories on the affects of some of these cuts, but what questions do you have? What would you like me to ask?
Tuesday the board meets, and Lakota parents plan to be there to protest the cut of Teacher Academy. I am hearing the union representatives from Butler Tech also may be there to discuss concerns with the way job cuts were handled. The board also plans to present a report on the recent “All Boards” meeting where board members gave feedback and posed questions and concerns for the administration.
