Don’t Break the Icicles!

Despite the inconvenience of the cold weather, it does allow Mother Nature to try her hand at some sculpting! Some of the prettiest times I have been on the trail are just after a snow. Everything is very peaceful, quiet, and with a crunchy texture under your feet. I managed to hike the White Trail at Germantown MetroPark on Friday, January 20th, and experienced the following:

This is always my favorite part about cold weather.

Basswood trees are always pretty easy to recognize with their vibrant buds and white bark

Humans are not the only ones using our boardwalk! There were many raccoon tracks.

So, if the roads are safe and you have a spare minute, take a Winter Walk the next time you have the opportunity,
