Miami women advance to MAC quarterfinals

The Miami University women’s basketball team held off Northern Illinois 67-66 today, March 6 in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament at Millett Hall.
Sophomore guard Maggie Boyer scored 18 points for the RedHawks, all in the first half, and freshman forward Kirsten Olowinski added 17.
Miami advances to the quarterfinals in Cleveland, where the RedHawks will play top-seeded Bowling Green on Wednesday.

Women’s basketball: Miami holds slim lead

The Miami RedHawks lead the Northern Illinois Huskies 41-40 with 17:53 left in the second half today, March 6 in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Miami rallied from a 28-19 deficit in the first half to lead 39-34 at halftime. Miami’s Maggie Boyer scored 18 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the 3-point arc over the first 20 minutes.
The winner advances to the quarterfinals on Wednesday in Cleveland against top-seeded Bowling Green.
