ENGLEWOOD — (Jan. 20) Police were dispatched to a local motel after a 911 caller reported he had overdosed on drugs.
Officers found the man sitting in his underwear, mumbling incoherently. He eventually told police he had been out drinking and bought some prescription pills from another bar patron. When assisted to his feet, the man moved toward the room’s door but missed. He would have hit the wall but for the intervening of a medic. He was cited for drug abuse and disorderly conduct, and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Jan. 12: BELLBROOK — (Jan. 12:) Police were called to a home in the 2400 block of South Linda Drive on a report of a possibly suicidal man with a gun.
Police surrounded the home and interviewed the man’s mother, who said her 40-year-old son was angry that his assault charges had not been dropped at a Xenia Municipal Court hearing earlier that day.
According to police reports, the woman said her son took her gun and told her she was the last person he was going to see, and that it would be all over soon.
The man’s brother, using a police bullhorn, convinced him to come out of the house, and the man was charged with inducing panic, drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
