License plate check brings in two arrests

ENGLEWOOD Oct. 7 An officer stopped a driver at West Wenger Road and South Main Street, after observing erratic driving and running a license plate check and learning the registered owner had a warrant for his arrest.

The female driving the vehicle pulled into a residence and asked if the registered owner had a warrant. The officer explained that he did and asked where the owner was. The female said that he was inside the residence, asleep.

She started to walk to the residence but was detained. The female had difficulty maintaining her balance, and when she saw her cat near the front door she reached down to pick it up but fell into the front door.

The subject admitted to the officer that she’d been drinking and had drank too much. She gave the officers permission to enter the residence to speak to the vehicle owner. He was arrested for the warrant.

An officer then administered field sobriety tests to the female, who was subsequently arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle intoxicated. The female’s sister was contacted so she could come to the residence and watch the female’s two children.
