Clinton campaign to kick off early voting efforts
The get-out-the-vote drive in the Ohio Democratic presidential primary between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama already has started.
Democrat Hillary Clinton’s Ohio presidential campaign will kick off early voting efforts across the state Monday with events in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dayton, Toledo, Youngstown and Akron.
In Ohio any voter can vote absentee up to 25 days before the March 4 primary.
In Dayton, Montgomery County Commissioner Judy Dodge and other Clinton supporters are scheduled to gather from noon until 12:30 p.m. at the Montgomery County Board of Elections, 451 W. Third St., the Clinton campaign said.
Gov. Ted Strickland will headline the Columbus event, also set for noon at the Franklin County Board of Elections.
Also, the Clinton campaign has opened its Ohio office in downtown Columbus in the same building where Strickland had his campaign headquarters for the 2006 governor’s race, Isaac Baker, Clinton campaign spokesman said.

I am one who may like millions others one day be in the same financial position as my sister with a recent diagnosis of ALS and with a husband having Parkinson’s (plus unable to walk) who is presently in a nursing home. Although she also can not walk or use one of her arms she is almost daily fighting nursing homes, hospitals and insurance companies for her husband’s medical care. Although my sister needs her own caregiver and her son has had to lose many days of work to give her care, these institutions have weekly harassed and threatened my sister with sending her husband home, claiming he does not need skilled care. She has applied for Medicaid for him but if this route is successful, the remainder after her husband’s expenses will not (with her own medical financial needs) leave her sufficient funds to survive plus will leave her no inheritance to leave her sons. These are two middle class people who have worked hard all their life. This, Middle Class America is our American healthcare system. Therefore, how could any middle class American vote for any political candidate who will not take on the insurance companies and drug companies? This candidate with the most experience and the most enthusiasm for this position is HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON. She is the one who cares and has always cared enough to take on this huge endeavor. As to healthcare, I am not specifically cognizant the steps Mr. Obama would attempt in this quest. However, I do know he does not have the experience for the task but there is another aspect of Mr. Obama as President. Does America really want someone in the highest office of the land who has ties and affiliation with those individuals within the American Communist Society, as investigated by A.I.M. ? -http://www.aim.org/press-release/aim-identifies-mysterious-obama-mentor-as-communist-party-revolutionary/By gerald

I am writing to encourage Ohio to support Obama. I consider myself a “former Ohioan” - I married a man from Painesville, my brother lived in Xenia when he was at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. I now live in CT where Hillary Clinton was predicted to win. But with lots of help from little people, grassroots organizations, and a lot of phone calling…we did it! CT went for Obama and Ohio can too!!! The good people of Ohio know that we don’t want the big money/scandal racked Clintons back in the White House. Go Ohio and Go Obama!By gabriella

If Day One was the beginning of the campaign, Obama has demonstrated that he was, in fact, ready. He now has money in the bank, is ahead in elected delegates, and has won more states, including the “show me” state, Missouri. So, for those who worry that he isn’t “tested,” doesn’t have enough experience, perhaps it is time to reflect that if a political campaign is like a war, Obama has shown himself to be a shrewder leader than his opponent. He did not take victory for granted, developed a long range plan, and kept up the morale of the troops. Let’s hope that the good folks of Ohio give credit where credit is due.By alice

As cynical as I am, as much as I argue with the optimists on every other issue, something about Obama brings me hope. And that is more real than any other political maneuver. Go Obama!By Joanie

Bush and the neo-cons have been “promoting their own underlying agenda” for almost a decade. Their agencda is rob from the poor, the Veterans, the children, and give to the rich businessmen while destroying the environment, alienating our allies, racking up a deficit of monstrous proportions, and spitting on the Constitution.By Jim 5

Strickland is endorsing Clinton right after he cut the legs out from under African-American Ken Blackwell in a nasty campaign. Overtones of racism were present in Strickland’s TV ads during the election. Showing a highly polarized shot of Blackwell highlighting his skin color were among the jabs that Strickland threw during that race. The Democratic machine did nothing to censure Strickland. My how the tables have turned…By Kevin

I hope everyone politician in montgomery county realizes a endorsement for Hillary Clinton is a lost vote in their next election. Ohioans are paying close attention and knows the problem with our economy is the war in Iraq and NAFTA both which Clinton supported.By Rich

Is Judy Dodge doing this on County time? And has the Clinton campaign paid the Montgomery County Democratic Party for use of their robo-caller with Russ Joseph making a call? I don’t remember the party endorsing Clinton? Obama supporters should show up in bigger numbers tomorrow.
