Former Ohio Dem chairman calls for Dann to resign
Former Ohio Democratic Chairman James Ruvolo has called for fellow Democrat Marc Dann to resign as attorney general.
“We (Democrats) came into office because of the excesses of the Republicans and now we’ve got someone who’s unfit for that office,” Ruvolo told the Dayton Daily News on Monday, May 5.
“We can’t stand by and hem and haw about it.”
Ruvolo, state chairman from 1983-1991, said that the sexual harassment scandal in Dann’s office is a “personal failing” of Dann’s but that it has the potential to hurt other Democrats.
“It allows the Republicans to call us hypocrites. It allows Republicans to say they lied to you,” said Ruvolo.
The longer Dann stays in office, the more fuel Republicans have, said Ruvolo.
“Once Dann’s gone, it’s over. That’s why he has to go,” said Ruvolo, a Toledo-based political and public policy consultant.

Jim Ruvolo has to be kidding - he was party chair under Dick Celeste,a serial philanderer and was the subject of a grand jury investigation into contract steering or pay to play. Read the clips on Mr. Ruvolo.By Dave Clark

OK- Now that Dann has evaded the question of resigning, the procedure needs to be started to remove him ASAP. It is a shame that Strickland can’t send in law enforcement officers to physically remove him from his desk in his office and throw him out on High St. What part of “get out” doesn’t Dann understand? I would make the 2 hour drive from Middletown to Columbus to see him physically removed from the Capitol building. What great entertainment!By speedo

While the DDN has called for Marc Dann’s resignation, it has conveniently been remiss in taking the next step of reporting the status and whereabouts of petitions which call for the removal of “newsworthy” politicians & judges. ….but then that makes perfect sense (or is that cents?) for a newspaper that is continually losing readership and gaining foreclosure advertising revenues.By Rob

Dann should resign because it is the right thing to do and not because of the political fallout. why did the Democrats nominate such an unqualified and noxious individual in the first place.
