John, An average of 81 Americans dies each day form gun fire. That’s less than most country’s in a year…Maybe you should get off your republican a*s and see there are real problems going on. This country isn’t about democrats, republicans, whites, blacks, browns, yellows, etc. It’s about us, and we need to take care of us. The only time someone like you has the balls to unite is when your scared.

Hey mwm, did you go enlist like I suggestes? Probably not I suppose. Knowing your kind, you probably hate the military and blame them, not the terrorists. You probably went to the Obama rally. You probably cried there when he made his vague offer to the stupid of “hope we can believe in?” I bet you cried. Did you get anything there? I bet, since you are a good little liberal, you went and were hoping you would get some kind of handout or a government check. Did you get one? If I were running as a dem, I would offer stupid dribble to my constituents and promise them money. You guys would show up in droves!!!

My apologies. I got off the subject and into the politics of the war. I did not, however, belittle other voters. I do blame the current administration for mishandling the war and made negative comments that I believe are true. I just can’t imagine anyone voting for more of the same. As I said, we all sift information in our own ways based on our life experiences. I don’t blame Senator McCain for the mess, but I believe Senator Obama will be the one to get us out of it.

To those of you who keep complaining about how negative other’s writings are, maybe you should go back and read your own. They are the most negative. I decided to do an unofficial “count”. Although it was difficult at times to siphon through which party some were blasting, I made an attempt to identify the writer’s political choice before assigning them to a column. At the present time, Obama supporters have made 31 negative, racist or name-calling comments. McCain supporters have made 15. Draw your own conclusions about the writers on this blog.

I realize we all sift information through our own lenses, but Calvin, who bankrupted this country with an illegal war? We had a budget surplus when this administration took office. OK, 9/11, yes I know. What did he ask of us all? Go shopping! The only people who have been asked to sacrifice have been military families, who have paid too dearly. A roadside bomb took the life of my nephew’s dear friend. A precious life cut short for this?? Don’t worry about footing the bill for the mess, we won’t give them body armor or reinforce their humvees! That should save a few dollars for the wealthy oil companies and Haliburton stock holders who paid for my presidency. I sure won’t raise taxes! That wouldn’t be conservative! Wear your flag pin and nobody will notice that we’re really just padding the pockets of my wealthy buddies who want to make money rebuilding what we have destroyed. Really. We needed to go after Al Quada and OBL in Afghanistan, not Sadam Hussein in Iraq. That was President Bush’s dream before 9/11 ever happened. He fancies himself an oil man from Texas, for God’s sake, and Sadam tried to have his daddy assassinated. There were no WMDs! He lied to get us back in there to finish the job the first President Bush started. Too bad he didn’t listen to the reasons his dad gave for ending it when he did. OK, to tie it back to this discussion, Senator Obama had the courage to speak out against this war when it was at the very least, “unpatriotic” to do so. Now everything he said would happen, has happened. That is one of the main reasons he will get my vote.

Some of the conservative vitriol I’ve read on this and other sites is amusing. As an Independent, all I can say about the Bush/Cheney apologists is they are too willfully ignorant to face the fact that this administration has done more to undermine the economic and constitutional security of this nation than any administration in recent memory. Way to go. Keep drinking the Koolaid!

All this furor over the empty bag Obama and the hate for Bush reminds me of the Clinton era where the White House would put out the operatives with the line of the week. They’d all show up on talk shows and news clips stating their line. After a few days many Americans were believing the line was truth. Some trying to make McCain linked to Bush and Cheney might better spend their time explaining what Obama voted for, stands for this week, and will do to the tax and giveaway structure this country is devoling to. The government is bankrupt; we can’t afford to give away more to people who are not productive. It makes nice touchy feeley speeches, but we can’t afford to subsidize everyone. There are going to be only a few taxpayers left. They will all have gone to other countries or hidden their money like the Kennedys offshore.

EXCITING! I’m working, but I hope to get another chance later. Doing everything to help make sure he gets the OH vote in Nov… he’s right for healthcare, his tax plan most benefits the middle class, he shows the right foreign policy judgment, and he’ll end this war responsibly but as swiftly as possible. Also, as much as I am disgusted by many of the comments on here, I am amazed by the interest - 160+ at this point… You never usually see more than 7 or 8 comments on anything.

For those of you who have been complaining that Senator Obama doesn’t have any detailed plans or anything specific to offer, please enlighten us all about what you so love about Senator McCain. What plans does he have that you will vote to see enacted? Be specific. These ugly, juvenile, hate-filled comments are just pathetic and depressing, and will not persuade anyone.

The number of mesmerized fools slobbering all over Obama, the new Messiah of the Democratic party, is absolutely astounding. Like lemmings racing over the edge of a cliff, the “sheeple” following Obama see only an image without any substance whatsoever. The classic Bush-bashing mwm, spewing his caustic spume of “Bush did this and Cheney did that”, blah, blah, blah, will have to go back to hating himself after the election. Anybody remember Lyndon Johnson and his “war on poverty”? Well, that worked out well, didn’t it? Remember Jimmy Carter? Obama is Carter II. Tax the wealthy? Go ahead, as even taxes roll downhill. I WILL be affected if taxes are increased on incomes over 250K. How will I adjust? The prices of my products will increase. Can’t afford them? Too bad. Tax “big oil” and YOU, THE CONSUMER will pay. Just wait and see what happens if Obama mandates health care. Your pathetic welfare checks will show a deduction. Obama is smoke and mirrors, leading the weak minded downtrodden poor down a path to oblivion. Go ahead, you stupid saps, follow right along. I’ll be chuckling when his policies hit YOUR wallet! It won’t have any impact on me!

Repub, Your assertions are intellectually dishonest. It may be technically true that the Republicans asisted the end of slavery and Lincoln was president as a Republican. However, any cursory understanding of American History in the 1800’s will inform you that the two parties we know as the Republicans and Democrats essentially switched social and political idealogies from the early 1800’s to the 1930’s or so. Translation - Lincoln would be a democrat in today’s society (or likely a moderate).

Republican, I think that it is funny that you have to hit the ‘Post Your Comment’ Button three times in a row. By the way, it is about what the parties are made up of now. It has nothing to do with where they were in the past. Several decades ago, the democrats were considered the conservative party. I used to live in the South. There is an saying where I lived… the person that brings race into a conversation is usually the racist.

Craig-I am the one who needs to re-read the Good Book. It was the Jewish People who were enslaved by the Egyptians going to the Promised Land. Dog Lover, I guess you have been lucky enough to live your life without ever having somebody try to smear you. Obama takes the high road by not wasting his time engaging himself in useless rhetoric. If I wanted to take a couple of hours and make a website full of ‘facts’ against you I could. Almost every single news agency has discredited Mr. Sinclair and his ridiculous website, so it is basically a dead issue. Just look at the fact that he says on his website that he was at his godson’s graduation from the Naval Academy on 11/3-8. If you do just simple fact checking on this information you will see that the main Naval Academy graduation ceremony was on 10/17 and 18 of 1999. If you would like you could continue to spread this homophobic urban legend. Congrats on being tricked.

I love how it is considered patriotic to say that the soldiers were only doing their duty at Abu Ghraib, right? or that it is a missionary’s responsibility to spread Christianity in places that it was not wanted. By the way, I am not part of any religion because for the most part they are for the weak that can not make a clear decision on their own. I see you only have time to catch your news at Fox News. I hope that one day people will wake up and realize that one person or small group does not represent an entire religion or organization.

Clint, If Larry Sinclair is a lying POS, then why doesn’t he back down from his statement? Obama could but this question to rest by providing his phone records from that time period, which he will not do! Why? There is also the question of the Donald Young murder and his association with OBAMA! Too many things going on, that OBAMA won’t put to rest. Even on stop the smears. There is no mention about Larry Sinclair. Who is OBAMA and where did he get all of his campaign money? He only has 143 days experience as a Senator. Where did this man come from and who sent him? Craig; Read your Bible and not what some History Prof tells you. If you really want to equate ancient history to today’s Terrorists beheadings lets start. The Christian wars were started in pursuit of the promised lands occupied by those who worshipped Bale and other false idols. Christians were escaping slavery from the Egyptians (sp). If you wanted to make a proper comeback, you would said something about the KKK; they went to church just to please their wives.,

To Jenn & Ameya: Now you know how christians feel when Christianity is slammed. Except, Christians do don’t go around wearing cowardly masks and blowing up cars and people when negative remarks about Christianity are said. To everone else, remember that when Clinton went after Microsoft with a month left in his term, that caused the NASDAC to Crumble. Bush was dumb enough to say “recession” during his inagural speech. A little greed and Stupidity on both sides. Change? There has been nothing but change since 1966 and not all for the better.

Obama supporters as well as McCain’s people: How can you reasonably convince anyone why they should support your candidate? One thing though, Obama supporters posting here have not presented one documented, reasonable or sound reason why he should occupy the White house. When it comes to politics, stick to facts when trying to persuade others and “the emotional, warm/fuzzy sentiments” for another topic. Also, Obama people, try to respect the right of all who participate in the political process to vote as they choose without having to justify their choice.

The post by Jaime is totally racially biased, yet the post by blackwoman hits the bulls-eye. The racist garbage spewed by Jaime is actually the root cause of racism in this country. It’s fairly easy for a black person to scream racism at the slightest notion. Everyone remembers the Don Imus fiasco a year ago. Now, we have Jesse Jackson ON VIDEOTAPE WITH SOUND making the comment that Obama’s n**ts should be cut off, and not even Al Sharpton is in sight demanding an apology. Where is the “outrage” of the black community? Strangely silent when Jesse Jackson says a no-no! Had any Caucasian person made the same exact comment, they would have been crucified. Voting for Obama simply because he is black is just as racist as voting for McCain just because he’s white. The door swings both ways, and as long as there are people willing to play the race card at the slightest issue, racism in this country will exist. Blackwoman, you are a good, clear thinker. Judge on qualifications, not on color!

Hey ‘Free to be me’… People call him Hussein because that is his middle name… maybe you should have done a little research on that one… but as others see it it must be a crime to call someone by their full name… I am apalled at all of these ‘You White people’ references… hello people it is the 21st century have we not grown up and realized that this is AMERICA!!! It is just digusting how people claim others to be of a race by their name, opinions, or political views…

Dear Jaimie: Apparently you’re not aware that Barack Obama is bi-racial, with just as much white genes in his body as black. Color if his skin has NOTHING to do with the content of his character and he is NOT a man of character! He is a man to be FEARED! No one could pay me enough to go see the likes of Barack Obama! Do us a favor - don’t let the door hit you in the behind on your way out of town!

What is wrong with you people?!?!?! I know you white people are scared of change so is it right to teach your children hate and keep this nonsense going? This probably won’t get posted since it’s the white man who allows everything to happen but I just had to comment on all the bull crap that has been posted and allowed to be posted. What’s wrong with change? Is it because it took a black man to do the changing now white America doesn’t know what to do? You people are the ones who are ruining society….you blow up schools, you start cults and rape children, your going into businesses blowing stuff up cause your mad at the boss…should I go on? You never hear about blacks doing the stuff that’s going on now in the news so why not have a change. I’m tired of the same old, white republican guys being in office screwing up America so call him Osama-Obama all you want, people outside this god forsaken, raciest city of Dayton Ohio want change! That’s what’s wrong with Dayton now, it’s too raciest and it’ll never change because the people here (white people) don’t want to see that happen. This town will never be anythig more than what it is now and I can’t wait to leave this god awful, hateful city

This seems to be the case - Dog lover Larry Sinclair: Obama Accuser Fails Polygraphs. Posted on February 24th, 2008 The man who recently made allegations that Senator Barack Obama met him back in 1999 for sex n drugs in the back of limo has failed not one, but two polygraphs. The site, Whitehouse.com, had offered Sinclair the sum of $10,000 to take a polygraph plus another check for $100,000 if he passed. To prove they were not bi-partisan the site also offered the woman at the center of the McCain lobbyist mini-scandal, Vicki Iseman, the same offer. Whitehouse.com used the services of highly respected polygraph expert, Dr. Ed Gelb. Sinclair passed a drug test before taking the tests, both administered on Friday. On the first test, questions were administered about Sinclair’s claims that he and Obama had sex. The second test focused on Sinclair’s claims that he and Obama did drugs. Dr.Gelb found “deception was indicated” in both tests. Absent any other developments this is the end of the road for Larry Sinclair. As DBKP reported in its story yesterday, the supermarket tabloid, The Globe, had found additional information on Sinclair’s background. According the Globe, the 46-year-old ex-con Sinclair had spent time in prison for credit card fraud, had admitted being a dope smuggler and a “coyote”, a person who smuggles people into the country, for a price. What were the possible motives for Larry Sinclair? google the truth?

My guess is that majority of these comments are coming from ignorant white folk. My take on it is, the more you fight change, the harder it’s going to bite you in the donkey. The so called inexperienced man is clearly not doing that bad if he blew Hillary’s donkey out the water. I guess America is just tired of the BS, and we have all the right to be. If you don’t like Obama my advice to you is to move out the darn country, because he’s definitely going to win. Why do I believe this? You see God has a funny way of making prideful, stubborn, and reluctant people look like a fool. He does this by taking people who you would never think or want to be in a position of power and he will give them the crown. Look at history, some of our greatest leaders where Obama (not literally) Moses, David, as in David and Goliath, and my biggest example, the poor little carpenter boy, who turned out to be our Lord and Savior. Now I’m not saying that Obama is equivalent to the people I mention by far. I am simply trying to say that you shouldn’t underestimate the man and call him ignorant names like Hussein. First, off he is Christian, his dad is African, his mom is Caucasian now please inform me how one gets Hussein out of that. Embrace the change, cause oh baby it’s coming right to your town.

Wow- the harsh, nasty comments are really disturbing. Like it or not, Senators Obama and McCain are our two choices for President. It is everyone’s responsibility to find out the facts about both and then make an informed decision based on those facts. Whenever I have had an opportunity to go listen to a candidate running for President, I go, regardless of party affiliation. I may not like what I hear but at least I know I am making a decision based on what I know and not innuendo.

Jelly, Are you saying we are racist for not liking Obama?? is that what you are trying to say? All I know is that his ‘ideas’ whatever they are each day are not going to benefit me when I struggle to pay bills by making me have less money. I am proud to work and provide for my family and not rely on the government to give me what they think I need. Haven’t we seen how the government is destroying this country. People say everyday how Bush’s government is destroying us by giving… all Obama wants is for the government to have MORE power over us… McCain wants to have less government powers over the people. I feel that I can do a better job taking care of me than them… Who do you want to take care of you?? Yourself (McCain) or government (Obama)??

Do you honestly think he has a chance of carrying all those southern states along the US 75 corridor. Remember the magic number is 270 electoral votes. My, my, my, how I’ve upset SO many people with my “watching paint dry” comment. Obama is leading the sheep to slaughter with his message of “change”, and is building nothing but false hope upon the “downtrodden poor people”. Obama is a pro at telling the weak-minded failures in life exactly what they want to hear, and they’re sucking it down like free beer on a Friday night. Obama has accomplished ZERO, and is by far the most liberal congressman today, passing even Hiccup Teddy Kennedy. Go ahead and vote for his “change”, and you’ll get just what you deserve. More government control of your life, higher oil prices as he promises to “go after” the big oil companies, federally regulated health care from the same government that can’t do anything correctly. Current polls show faith in congress well below faith in Bush, and this is a Democratic controlled congress. You weak minded people that fall for his gloss always come up empty when discussing or providing substance. He’s a good talker. So what? At least McCain has a solid record of accomplishments. Even Lord and Master Jesse Jackson had a rude comment about Obama, and what does THAT tell you? Wake up you fools, Obama is nothing more than a mystical snake-oil salesman leading you down a path that leads nowhere!

If you want to know about the issues Obama stand for here is a link: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ If you want to know what he has done in congress here is a link: http://www.thomas.gov/ type in his name and see. Stop reading and listening to the media spin-doctors and take control over your own mind! Go get the information for yourself then make a decision. I am tired of people in Washington trying to tell me about my life. I am living it daily. I am tired of paying taxes and still have nothing. I am tired of having a president that owes favors to everybody (Oil & Insurance companies). I want someone new to Washington; I want someone that does not owe oil or insurance companies. I want a change for my children, my grandchildren and me. People wake up! The man cannot help the name that his parents gave him! Get real! He cannot control anyone but himself. He cannot control what people say or do! When are people going to start seeing this for what it is? Are we going to start crucifying people for who they know? Did anyone hear any newspaper or news media ever ask Hillary what religion or church she attended? Ever! Nor have they asked McCain! They never asked about what their preacher, minister, or religious leader thought about various issues. Wasn’t’ that convenient! However, in turn they bashed Obama for something that his minister said. I personally have many a time sat in church and heard my minister say something that I didn’t agree with, but never would have thought to walk out over a comment. Now it’s a big issue about Jesse Jackson, com on people everybody has a hater or two. Even Jesus had haters! That’s their job to make you look bad or talk bad about you. Now Obama knows who his real friends are. I’m glad he is finding that out now before he gets to the white house. Let us get to the real issue people there are two America’s! One is for white people and one is for everyone else. That’s the real! I am bi-racial and have seen both! White Americans just don’t want to admit that. The truth will set you free! We will never have a nation of no racism if people keep telling lies! This nation is a nation built on being a melting pot! In a melting pot, things melt together! In addition, as long a one race wants to keep fighting and wants to keep control over all others this nation will never be what our forefathers wanted it to be. In truth this not a nation of freedom for all, it is freedom for some, everybody else had to play along with their game! They have to figure out the rules because no one is going to tell you what the rules are and you have to come up with your strategy to play! Like Michelle Obama said you live your life living up to the bar that’s set and when you get close enough to the bar to reach it they move the bar! How is that fair?

I cannot think of anything positive that the republicans have done for this country. The increased security would have been ok if it had not been at the expense of our constitutional rights.Bush said abortion will never be stopped and admitted he and the republicans could not end it.Private pro-life groups were behind any change to abortion laws. You can’t get the facts by watching fox.You get commentary there and nothing more.My father-in-law and his wife are voting for Obama and they have never voted for a dem in their life and were huge financial supporters of bush until he led this country to ruin.So we have hope here in Ohio. As stated in other areas of this BLOG, Obama is for CHANGE, but what change? As both he and Hillary stated they would raise taxes. You may be surprised to learn that President George W. Bush’s economic record is, in many ways, better than the record Clinton ran on for reelection. Compared with the “exceptional” years of 1993, 1994, and 1995, the first three years of George W. Bush’s presidency featured: lower inflation lower unemployment faster productivity growth faster labor compensation growth (i.e., wages and benefits) 29.4 percent ($6.9 trillion) more economic output 45 percent ($960 billion) more exports; and an economic growth rate 81.2 percent as fast as that under Clinton Considering the circumstances under which the U.S. economy has labored for the past few years, President Bush’s record is all the more impressive. When George W. Bush moved into the White House, the economy was on the verge of recession. The largest stock market bubble in U.S. history had recently burst, exports were declining, manufacturing employment had been falling for half a year, and people were finding it harder and harder to find work. And that was before 9/11, the war on terror, and the revelations of the corporate-governance scandals that grew out of the late 1990s. The tax cuts President Bush signed into law helped alleviate the impact of these economic shocks and kept millions of Americans working who would have otherwise lost their jobs. Consequently, the unemployment rate peaked in June 2003 at 6.3 percent, compared with peaks of 7.8 percent and 10.8 percent during the previous two recessions. Yes, we’re going through tough times, but I’d rather be fighting a war on someone else’s soil than in our own back yard.

Bush started a war by using lies and propaganda on the American public. The WMD issue was used to scare the public. The Bush administration used a full scale propaganda war on the public by using fear as a motivator. Wars based upon lies is also murder. 4000+ of our military dead due to the most deceptive administration in american history. The abortion and gay marriage attacks were used as a political tool to gain votes. More or less a smoke screen. I may oppose certain forms of abortion but, I strongly oppose any war that is based upon some lie and fear based ideology. That is the neocon republican base. McCain is a lacky of the Republican agenda. He could care less about religion, abortion or the gays. His focus will be a continuation of the Bush neocon policies. Including the war in Iraq. And will push for a continuation of said war/occupation for 100+ years; by his own words. A war conceived and implemented on the lies of a neocon ideology.

I’ve read all of these comments and quite frankly it doesn’t surprise me!! I’m an Obama supporter but I don’t think he will be the next president of United States. He has to convince the majority of the country (i.e White Americans) to vote for him. Good luck with that!! In case anybody hasn’t noticed, all forty-three of our presidents have been white males!! I guess that’s just a coincidence!! The Republican slime machine will divert are attention to issues that aren’t relevant and attack Barack’s character and patriotism.( Number 1 slimer SEAN HANNITY!!) Barack Obama gives us a breath of fresh air and a change from the Bush-Chaney fiasco of eight years! Record breaking gas prices, lying to get our country into a war, and a slumping economy are just some of the issues that define George Bush’s presidency. Come election day, Americans will want to vote for Change but unfortunately, they will vote for somebody who looks just like them or shares the same ethnicity as them!! But again, voting for another white male president will be forty-four straight coincidences!! Obama 08

I liked McCain very much before he started kissing Bush’s a**. He let Bush steal the primary from him in 2000, and now McCain licks Bush’s boots! McCain is the ultimate flip-flopper. I was a republican then, in 2000. Then I saw what Bush and Cheney did, outing Valerie Plame, lying about the war, steal money to give to Haliburton et al. If you vote for McCain, you are in on it too.

To Obama supporters: Before you revert to “hope and change” do your research before trying to make your case to those of us who did not automatically jump on the bandwagon. If you are not willing to do this, please respect the right of all of us to support and vote or even not vote for the candidate we want to.

Vicki, Let me answer your question on what Obama has accomplished: NOTHING. You have to understand, the less he stands for, the more the idiots are attracted to him. If he is smart, he will commit to his platform of “change we can believe in” and “hope for all of us”. The minute he steps outside of that, he will lose support from his idiot base - like mwm who believes that 9/11 was a government hoax. He is your prime Obama supporter. There is an endless of sea of idiots who will support this man who has accomplished nothing and who is nothing. mwm has no clue and probably will cry at his rally as soon as he mentions “hope we can believe in.” You aren’t going to enlist, are you mwm. Since you hate God and W, you probably hate the military too. Don’t you mwm? Be honest. Was Hitler a government hoax too? John

For those of you enthralled with Obama, can you tell me one thing he stands for(that he hasn’t changed his position on). The word CHANGE can go both ways: change for the good or change for the worse. What has he done in his Senate career that is noteworthy? I think he may be a nice person and gives a great speech, but I just don’t hear anything from him. Maybe one of his supporters can enlighten me.

mwm, I am saddened by what our country has become. I am a conservative, not a Republican. You are stupid, so you have no idea what I just said. I don’t agree with Bush on everything, but I do on many things. No WMD were discovered in Iraq, but we all know they were there and he had used them in the past on his own people and neighboring countries, like Iran. He refused to comply with the treaty that his gov’t signed, so we went back in to find and eliminate them ourselves. I don’t agree with staying this long, but W is trying to leave it in better condition than how he found it. I respect him for the courage to do that, but disagree with this decision. Saddam was a heinous, genocidal murderer. He wiped out complete villages. W brought him to justice. I could go on an on, but it would be pointless. I think the bottom line is though, you can sleep at night because W has prevented further terrorist strikes on this country. You should thank him. No, actually you should go enlist. As far as your attack on my faith, that is fine. I can live with that. I am afraid of going to hell. The bible tells us we should be. Boy, no matter how much I don’t want to vote for McCain, I guess I will have to. You have forced my hand. It is tough, though.

Two key words in these comments - “change” and “neocon” (neoconservative?) beg for definition. “Change” reminds me of diaper changing, but then you have to keep doing it until the person of interest is finally potty trained. I guess we can google “neocon”.

John, I can see why you would cling to your Bible and your guns, after losing your mind that is all you have left. BTW, how many Bibles did it take before you found one with real big pictures and very few words? Does God give brownies points to whoever owns the most Bibles?

John, Kling to your guns and religion. The war in Iraq is a lie based war. No WMD’s and No link by Iraq to 9-11. It was a war fabricated by the neocon agenda by using lies, deceptions and propaganda on the ill informed. It is an idiot that would support a fear and lie based ideology. Such is the case with the Bushys. Religion is for people afraid of going to hell, spirituality is for those who have been there. True Americans will stand up against lies and deceptions instead of being some sort of assimilated conformist. And you appear to be one of the assimilated conformists.

Seems that the folks who say they would not be there were ticked off that there wasn’t a tractor pull or a demolition derby involved. Love the person who said she can’t believe how people could be sucked into his smooth delivery, even when there is no substance behind it. I bet this person voted, twice, for a drunken cowardly mental midget, whose greatest accomplishment has been to kill more of his own soldiers needlessy than any President in our history. Talk about getting “sucked”. Boy, did you get taken for a ride.

I grew up in the country most of the world looked to as THE LEADER of the free world. Today, I don’t think any informed person can say we lived up to that responsibility. I, take my duties seriously. I did not vote for Mr. Obama, but, I want to ensure I vote for THE LEADER who will effectively pull our country together to enjoy the fruits of our labor and enjoy the live God has given us. To those who act like children, I cannot control. I only hope the majority takes their duties as an Amercian and make a decision on careful study and consideration and vote accordingly and then, actively support our next leader to bring some sense to our existance as a nation.

I was worried when I read the comments of hatred and misinformation that first appeared. I figured the same old republican machine was gassed up and ready to mow the truth down again. I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I read the latest comments. I now believe there are progressive, intelligent people in this city. We must not give in to these attacks, but answer at every opportunity. I wish I could be there to hear Senator Obama speak in person. He will make history in November!

It is pretty dishearting to read how our country has dipped to “all or nothing” with its political process. Most of the Americans abroad don’t have the opportunity to choose which is best or worst in the political process, but yet they still defend our rights and freedoms everyday. Please remember their sacrifices as some of you “watch paint dry” verses particpating because your choice isn’t available.

Some of the comments on here are completely uncalled for. If you dont support him and have better things to do ‘worthwhile’ or ‘watching paint dry’ then do it and stop affecting everyone with your negativity. If you dont agree that is fine but dont belittle others that have hope. Misery loves company, go join Bush in his attempt to reclaim his credibility.

It is interesting that people from Ohio can bash Obama when they turned out to support the liar-in-chief, Bush a few years ago. It is also interesting that the same Bush supporters were taken in by the Republican lie machine. To think that issues such as abortion and gay marriage carried Bush because a bunch of briar minded ohioans believed in the garbage the Republicans were selling; non-existent WMD’s and terror alert color codes included. And, some conservatives now support McCain. Because he smells like a Republican. Not because he will do anything to benefit this state. The neocons had their chance at an attempted reshaping of America. What they gave Americans was a war based upon lies, a recession, higher gas prices, a debasing of our Constitution, continued damage to our environment, anger towards religion and hatred of the Republican party. Yes, it is the year of Change. And, McCain can find a nice little spot in Sun City after November.

If we want to discuss flip flopping, look at John McCain’s views on almost all of the major issues. His status as a “maverick,” which he has always been until now, is greatly suspect. He has moved to the right on almost every subject.

I would love to attend and ask Jr. Senator form Illinois Obama a number of questions, but I’m sure none of mine would be on the approved staged question list. He would also likely get annoyed when I repeatedly asked the same question over and over until I got a real answer and not just empty political rhetoric.

Oh, but he’s for CHANGE! How can anyone be against CHANGE? Obama is excellent at swaying the weak-minded fools; even better than Hillary. He’s flip-flopped more times than a frog in a hot skillet, but the left wingers seem to think he’s their saviour. I wouldn’t go see him if he turned up in my living room! I think I’ll find something more exciting to do that day. Possibly watch some paint dry!
