Blackwell joins Obama bashers
Ken Blackwell’s joined the efforts to take some steam out of Democrat Barack Obama’s presidential campaign sails.
Republican Blackwell’s is one of the conservative voices featured on a new TV ad from Citizens United, an independent conservative group. The ad started running on Fox News on Monday, July 21, and continues through the end of this week at a cost of $250,000. The ad is a preview of a film that Citizens United is producing on Obama - “Hype The Obama Effect.”
“It is only when you begin to peel back the layers that you begin to see the disturbing pattern,” Blackwell, former Ohio secretary of state and unsuccessful candidate for governor, says in the ad.
The Obama campaign had no comment on the ad. Take a look-

The people in this clip say a lot about the message. Blackwell is part of the radical right, and used smear tactics in his failed gubernatorial campaign. Dick Morris, a Fox News commentator, recently said that he thought it would be a good thing if Isreal attacked Iran and that it would be a good thing for McCain’s campaign, and P.J. O’Rourke is another Fox news commentator ands spokesman for the far right. Obama is not as far to the left as they would have you believe, and McCain, whom I used to support strongly, has been leaning away from his long-time positions and leaning toward those positions held by the neo-cons who got us into this crippling deficit and other radical positions, like Phil Graham, James Hagee, etc. Keep your eyes and ears open, and look at factcheck.com.By Bpm9002

Who would waste their time listening to Blackwell? He knows nothing of election laws or separation of church and state. What is disturbing is Blackwell, a failure in politics and a failure as a public servant would even get air time. But, there are nuts out there that would listen to him.By TRS

Actually I don’t think they know Senator Obama’s views as they seem to change alot. To correct the record McCain wants to drill along with developing alternative energies. Obama’s plan - hope someone develops an alternative energy, figures out a completely new distribution method for it, convert existing transportation to use it and then solves the problem of whose going to pay for all of this. Ultimately that will happen, but when? Will it occur faster than pursuing the billions of barrells of current reserves? Give me a date certain, even a year certain, maybe even a decade certain. If the American people agree with Senator Obama on this then why does the vast majority want to pursue drilling now? Senator Obama does have a very much left of center view as he seems to believe that the government can fix the economy. Thats like looking to an arsonist to put out a fire. History shows you either grow the economy out of tough times as Kennedy, Reagan and yes, G.W after 9/11 or as the Democrats seek to do, try to spend your way out of it. Those 2% of Americans Mike referred to pay 37% of all taxes. They range from corporate execs to small business and are the group that invests capital and creates jobs. The Obama tax plan seeks to take this capital for the government and redistribute it according to the whims of politicians. You’ll pardon me if I have my doubts about their abilities to do so wisely. So, are we to trust the politicians as Senator Obama would have us do or do we rely on the marketplace of ideas where the American people decide whats best? Aside from the lack of economic sense, there is history. Senator Obama wants to return us to policies similiar to what were in play when Jimmy Carter was President and the liberals were in control of Congress. That was 11% unemployment, -5% GNP and 16% interest. Some don’t remember those days and perhaps thats why his plan and liberalism in general sounds appealing; but, should it be implemented, stand back and hang onto your wallet. The Democrats believe in a Progressive tax system, basically as their economic policies fail and they need more revenue to pay for them, rather than admitting their flaws, they progressively work their way down to the middle class with higher taxes. Don’t believe me? Look at any major city or high tax state and see whose in charge.By Mike

Way too far left? Just a talking point. Polls show that on most major issues, Obama’s views are mainstream views held by most Americans. McCain “The Moderate” is simply a construct for media consumption. McCain’s “better energy solution”-DRILL, DRILL, DRILL !! That’s not a policy, that’s a giveaway to the oil companies. It does not address the real problem…. McCain’s “job creation”- Hey, what do you mean? Everything’s great with the economy! Like Phil Gramm, McCain’s economic adviser said, people who say everything isn’t peachy are “just whiners”. Dude, you’re not struggling, you’re just in a “mental recession”. So suck it up and go get a job! …. McCain’s tax plan- Yep, it’s great! If you make more than $250K a year (about 2% of the country). Amazingly, people who make less than $250K will get greater tax breaks under Obama’s plan….. McCain’s “national security and military strategy”-Yep, sure is great for everyone who profits from his visions of a “hundred years of occupation” in the Middle East. For better or worse, “hype” is part of the political reality in the media age. After all, we elected a President once on the basis of which one we’d rather have a beer with. And that’s worked out just fine, right? So much so that we have a candidate running on the perpetuation of all our beer buddy’s policies that we now resoundingly reject as complete failures. Continuing dependency on oil, worst job creation record in a generation, greater and greater tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans while the middle class continues to struggle on stagnant wages. And to top it off, a promise of a perpetual state of war with American soldiers continuing to die ad infinitum. Yes sir, if you liked Bush, you’ll love McCain.By Just Saying

Kenny B must have a lot of time on his hands since his failed gubernatorial bid. Judging by the way he was trounced by Ted Strickland, it’s apparent that Ohio voters “peeled back the layers” and saw a “disturbing pattern” in Blackwell.By niranha

The ad hits the important points: Obama is way too far to the left on many issues; McCain is much more moderate. Under McCain there’s better energy solutions, job creation, tax plan, national security, and military strategy (with tenured experience). McCain has the experience and background we need right now; the media has created the “hype effect” this ad is referring to.
