Obama, Biden to jump on the bus
DENVER - Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama and Joe Biden, his vice presidential running mate, will jump on a bus for a battle state tour “On the Road to Change” on Friday, Aug. 29, after the Democratic National Convention ends.
The first joint bus tour for the candidates, announced on Wednesday, Aug. 27, will go through Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan, with the first stop in Pennsylvania. The candidates’ spouses, Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, will be on the bus, too.
The trip is reminiscent of the bus trip that Bill Clinton and Al Gore took after their convention in New York City in 1992. Obama and Biden will compete for attention while Republicans hold their national convention in St. Paul-Minneapolis.
Obama and Biden and their wives are scheduled to be in Ohio on Saturday, Aug. 30, for a memorial service for U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D-Cleveland, who died on Aug. 20.

Your family is about to embark on a time that God has ordained. As a wife and a mother you have a very important position. Your position is to pray for your husband and family and all things. I pray that you will allow the Holy Spirit to guide your family at this time. I know that you are a believer and this is you time in your faith to seek God’s well for your family. Man will talk about your husband and hate him, but remember that they talked about Jesus. Now your husband can not save lives but God has ordained this time in history to use him to heal our land. Feel the White House with the Holy Spirit and pray always. The issue that will face your husband you are going to need God guidance. Man is looking for any error to talk against your husband, but don’t look at man to measure your success. Remember that what is done in secret He will rewarded in the open. Your must be a Proverbs 31 women. Allow your faith to guide you down this path and look to the sky for your help. May God bless you and your family and give you the strength that you will need to endure the next 8 (eight) years. Put God first in all things. I know the White House is large but I know that you can find one spot where you can sit on God lap and speak you heart and release His spirit. I thank you and I will pray for you God bless you and your family.By EricR11

Talk about a true heir to Lincoln’s legacy - Obama, his Illinois descendent, is the target of lots of abuse and misunderstanding precisely because he ‘gets it’ and is acting from principle on all fronts. This includes his effort to listen and understand other opinions without simply caving in, while looking for unifying and healing a deeply divided nation, knowing the old paths are gone. Or is there someone else out there better suited to be Lincoln’s heir in our time?By Katrina

I’m sorry, but after the last 8 years, I can’t see how anyone could think McCain is a good choice. He has voted with Bush 90% of the time. They are one and the same. Voting for McCain is like voting for Bush to serve a 3rd term.By T-Wood alumni

I do have respect for the Clinton’s and their time in the White House. However, after the last several years of Bush and, being lied to by the Bush administration, this is the year of complete change. To go from Bush to Clinton to Bush and then the idea of another Clinton does not show a complete change of leadership. It shows some sort of legacy. Two family control of our country for what could be well over 25 years is wrong for our nation. McCain is a Bush clone. His policies will be the neocon agenda. No good for the middle class. No good for foreign policy and, no good for our country. Hillary as VP would make her president of the senate. A powerful position that could sway Obama’s agenda and could be the diffence between his policies going through or being controlled by the Clinton’s. Joe Biden was probably a good choice for VP. He is a straight shooter. And, will be there to advise Obama. The media is causing much of the rift between Obama and Clinton, when the reality is, they both need to do what is good for our country. And, press ahead by rebuilding our country after all the damage the conservative republicans have caused.By Alice

Karen, I don’t think you are misguided in supporting Hillary, and I wasn’t making a Hillary vs. Obama argument. If Hillary were our nominee, I would be proudly voting for her because I believe in the ideals she fought for. I agree that changes should be made with the primary system, but you were not voting for Hillary because of the primary system. Why would you not vote for someone that has a practically identical voting record because of the primary system? Voting for (or against) someone because you disagree with rules the DNC established many years ago is, yes, misguided.By Jim 5

Senator Biden is a great campaigner and can light up a room. He is a classic politician who knows how to effectively “press the flesh”. The media construction that he is strong on foreign policy or that he is a “working Joe” is fictional. This is merely the media carrying Barack Obama’s water for him. Foreign policy and men are areas where Obama is weak. Nothing can fix that.By Joanie

Hillary was absolutely inspiring! But she did not get the delegates. Obama did. We have to get behind him and rid our country of the kind of government that has brought us to a $9.6 Trillion deficit, a government based on dishonesty destruction, corruption, incompetance, greed, and shame. We have to do this for Hillary and what she stands for, for our children, and for our Country!By Karen

In response to misguided supporters: Our support for Hillary was not only about her but about the party and the country. We believed that the democratic party was out to make a difference and that the most experienced candidate would be the best choice. Change is what is needed but a change that will make the most difference is one where the democrats will take back the country. I am not sure that this year this will happen due to the way that the country is divided. History goes to show you the way to win in politics is not to sway the party you represent but the party that you are running against. The republicans are not interested in radical change at this time so you need to win over independents but above all you need to keep your base behind you 100%. There is a lot of democrats who feel that the party allowed the caucus’s to be railroaded by the Obama camp by “jamming” them with people. In the states where only caucus’s were held and republicans where permitted to vote. In primary states Hillary won hands down (democratic states). So there is a great deal of disappointment in these states (Ohio). It is unfortunate that you would think we are misguided or otherwise this is the type of statement that has divided the party.By Alice

If Hillary can’t convince someone that claims to have supported her, then no argument on a message board is going to change that. It’s sad that at worse there are a few McCain supporters who feel they need to lie about who they have supported because they don’t have an honest argument to make in favor of their true candidate and at best, there are a few of misguided Hillary “supporters” that don’t really understand why she was running.By Karen

The speech last night just went to show the convention, the american people and the world what the difference is between Barack and Hillary and why she should have been on the ticket whether it was on the top or bottom. I still believe that the democratic party has made a mistake in not understanding the stakes in this election and not promoting this ticket. I am being honest when I say I still have not seen a reason to get behind Obama 100%. There are still to many what if’s.By Alice

Hillary’s speech last night was awesome and I am truly excited for the chance to not accept what has been given to us and our country for the last eight years. We can’t accept it. My grandparents saw harder times, but I haven’t yet, and we can’t let it get any worse. If we continue with the same policies for the next four or eight years, I am afraid of what it might take to ever repair the damage. There’s a lot of decent human beings in our country, but few that have the ability to lead us on all issues. We could use a man like John McCain as a leader in our military, or as a leader for the military in the Senate, but Barack Obama is the only candidate that can lead this country to progress. Let’s take back our country NOW and KEEP ON GOING.
