Pick your ticket: McCain-Palin or Obama-Biden
The general election campaign is off to a rousing, raucous start here in Ohio and across the country.
Republican John McCain and Sarah Palin, McCain’s vice presidential running mate, and Democrat Barack Obama and Joe Biden, Obama’s running mate, already have been campaigning in Ohio and they’re expected to return often.
Here’s your chance to pick the ticket that you’d like to see lead the nation starting in 2009.

I work for a very rich man and he empolyee’s about 1500 workers, i’m so glad he is rich because i don’t have to worry about my paycheck bouncing,I would hate to work for a poor man, and for all of you cry babies out there your govt, can only make money by taking it from someone . because govt. manufactuer’s nothing. if you try to take to much from the so called rich, why should they even keep there bussiness. you all have the same opportunity to start your own company, but most of you don’t want to invest the blood sweat and tears and long hours it takes to make it work. so you think your Govt. is goig to do it for you, HOW SAD>By taxpayer

The McCain/Palin/Bush ticket believes in the “trickle down” theory of economics-give the rich more money and eventually it will trickle down” to the rest of us. So far, only one thing has trickled down and I can’t put it in the paper. That hasn’t worked before, it isn’t working with Bush, and it won’t work with McCain. Obama/Biden believe if a greater number of people, i.e. the middle class, have more money, they will buy more goods and services, which will make more jobs and stimulate the economy. They also plan provide funding to put people to work on infrastructure jobs. Heaven knows there is plenty to be done repairing or replacing bridges, for example. Makes sense to me! The old way is not working. McCain is not change! Vote Obama/Biden!By Celia

I don't know what Rusty does for a living or how he files his tax returns, but in my world, Federal Income Tax is very real. I make about thirty thousand dollars a year, and most certainly do pay income tax! There's no state income tax where I live, but I pay Federal taxes just like everyone else. I'm not aware that there are any places where middle income workers don't pay them.By Maurie Louis

Rusty says….”you can’t lower taxes on those who are in the middle and low income classes because THEY DON’T PAY ANY INCOME TAXES.” Will you tell me where to go to read up on this. I’ve been paying FEDERAL income tax, which is what we’re talking about, every month since 1974. There are states that don’t collect STATE income tax but that is not what all this is about. Are there states where middle income earners don’t have to pay FEDERAL income tax?By rusty

This is really pretty simple. When you cut taxes, those who PAY taxes get there portion reduced. The top 20% of tax payers pay 95% of the federal income taxes. Obama intends to raise taxes on small business owners and others who achieve. Small business owners are the backbone of this country. Never in history has raising taxes pulled us out of an economic downturn but every time taxes are lowered, federal revenue goes up and the economy gets better. Bottom line is that you can’t lower taxes on those who are in the middle and low income classes because THEY DON’T PAY ANY INCOME TAXES.By Maurie Louis

People need to take just one minute to see the chart showing that McCain is cutting taxes for everyone but way more for the high income and very little to middle and low income. They also need to see that Obama is raising taxes on high income (over $250K income a year) and lowering taxes for middle and low income way way more than McCain. This chart needs to be shown EVERYWHERE!!!!
