Dann must pay back $40,610, Brunner says

Former attorney general Marc Dann illegally converted campaign funds for personal use and he must pay back $40,610 within three weeks or the case will be referred to the Ohio Elections Commission, Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner’s office said Friday, Sept. 12.

Using the campaign fund to pay for a home security system, including new windows and doors, was not an appropriate or legal use of the fund, according Curt Mayhew, Brunner’s campaign finance administrator. The letter is part of an on going audit of Dann’s 2007 campaign fund reports.

Mayhew also asked Dann for clarification on cell phones paid for out of the fund and who owns and uses a Pontiac Torrent paid for by the campaign. He also wants to know if the Pontiac will be sold now that Dann is no longer in office.

In a letter to Dann sent Sept. 12, Mayhew also asked for more information on $26,871 in consulting fees paid to Progressive Solutions Group, a political firm owned by Leo Jennings III. Dann hired Jennings, a personal friend, as his communications director and shared a suburban Columbus apartment with him and Tony Guiterrez, another Dann friend and high ranking aide.

Dann, a Democrat, resigned under pressure in May in the wake of a sexual harassment scandal. Dann and his administration are under investigation by the Ohio Highway Patrol, Ohio Ethics Commission and state Inspector General.

“We cannot win with just eggheads and african americans” - Paul Bagala Donna Brazil reamed him for this remark, but it’s true. Having contributed and supported Hillary, I am now switching to McCain/Palen. The far left has taken over the democratic party and nominated someone who cannot win. Obama’s best chance would have been to put Hillary on the ticket, but he was too prideful and too arrogant. His bad! As the bible say..”pride cometh before a fall… Go McCain/Palin! Go Hillary 2012!!! Lifelong Democrat

Palin, but Sen. obama is getting a pass on his close ties to Weather underground Terriost William Ayers, and what about his famed Mentor from one of his books Frank marshall Davis, go to www.schwarzreport.org and read the report on his Communist activities, click on newsletters sept. 2008, I think thats more important than a Bridge to nowhere, but the lefties what to keep you occupied away from Obama’s past. don’t fall for the DDN’s tactics, please read the report & spread the word.

I find it amusing - that the same Attorney General who hounded and harassed former sex offenders - who’d long ago paid their debt to society - is now finding himself hounded, harassed, and asked to pay again, and again, and again. Personally, I think they should make sure Marc Dann is kept at least 1,000 feet away from the Democratic Party - so that Dann is not tempted commit another crime?
