Tony Hall to endorse Obama in radio ad
Former Dayton U.S. Rep. Tony Hall will endorse fellow Democrat Barack Obama for president in an ad to be aired on Ohio Christian radio stations starting Monday, Sept. 22.
The ad is being run by the Matthew 25 Network, a political action committee organized “to mobilize Catholic, Evangelical and diverse Christian voices for a new Christian witness in politics.”
In the ad, Hall, who served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Agencies after leaving Congress, describes himself as a “pro-life Democrat” and explains why he supports Obama.

Googled but couldn’t find any 4th rate listings for law schools. Regardless, I don’t think they are running the show. A recent Yale Daily News noted that more Ivy league grads are going into government than ever. Besides, so what? Still doesn’t answer the question as to why someone is more qualified because he graduated from Harvard or Yale or whatever. I’ve always heard the service acadamy schools were not pud schools. Ever been through flight school? Fly a fighter? Land a plane on a carrier? Nothing easy about any of that and it takes smarts to do all that. Does that mean Senator McCain is more qualified because he did all that and others didn’t? Intellect and ability don’t always go hand in hand. Some of the brightest people we know lack good judgment and common sense and many of our best leaders can from schools other than Harvard or Yale.By Dave

TRS, What makes you think the founding fathers wanted “common” men in government? All I have read said they wanted wealthy landowners, like themselves. By the way, the lawyers who currently are running virtually everything in the ground are from Liberty University, a 4th rate (actual rating, not a cheap shot) law school.By TRS

Harvard Law - so what special training do lawyers have in economics? Foreign policy? The Military? Excluding their business law classes, what is their training in running a business or in understanding the intricacies of the free market system? Why is a legal education any better than someone pursuing their CPA? Or a business degree? In fact, it is not. I would submit that the lawyers and financial folks on Wall Street who wrote all the fancy financial instruments that has us where we’re at today are pretty much from the elite schools such as Harvard. Conversely, many in Congress and many in government also come from these same schools. So, how’s that working for us? Not very well. These folks network, going from one place to the next looking out for each other. Perhaps there is a bit to much inbreeding and its time for some solutions which are not generated out of Harvard, Yale or the other elite institutions. Perhaps we’re all impressed a bit to much by these elites. I haven’t noticed in the constitutution where our forefathers made an Ivy league education a prereqisite to serving in government. Matter of fact, seems they were looking for common folks with common sense.By Chris

Who would you choose for President? The guy who was head of the Harvard Law Review, or the guy who can’t remember how many houses he owns?By jimmie

If Tony Hall is for somebody or something, it can’t be good.
