McCain slips in new Ohio poll
The race for president in Ohio now is a tossup between Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain in a new Rasmussen Reports poll.
The survey, released Thursday, Sept. 25, shows McCain leading 47-46 percent. That’s a drop of 3 percentage points for McCain since Sunday night, Sept. 21, when he led 50-46 percent.
During the past month in four previous surveys, McCain has had leads ranging from 3 to 7 percentage points. In four previous surveys conducted over the past month, McCain has held an advantage ranging from three to seven points.
The survey was taken on Tuesday, Sept. 23, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Let’s hope that people from Dayton and citizens of Ohio actually begin to ask themselves how they feel about factories closing, the poor economy, education, housing problems, low dollar, two wars and the list goes and goes…and decide if we do want 4 more years of Bush/Cheney/Rove or if we want a change. Who knows if a change will help, but at least there is that promise…and I know that promises are fragile but more than we will have if we select 4 more years of Bush/Cheney/Rove for then we will have more of the same. Remember, we decided the president the last time—let us make a better decision this time.By Mike

regarding the housing crisis. what role did Barney Frank’s direction to Fannie Mae to put its main emphasis on “affordable loans to people who otherwise wouldn’t get one”? Isn’t good old Barnie a democrat. Monique-when people say “nobama” it translates into “no for Obama”, if you translate it into something else, it must be your subliminal thinking that is making the leap.By Jim

Obama is starting to pull away in the polls, in part because of McCain’s erratic behavior over the economy. Wait till Sarah Palin debates Biden next Thursday and the Genie gets out of the bottle. McCain will drop like a rock.By Frylock

Well, Senator McSame hasn’t voted on ANYTHING in the Senate since April 8th — making him the #1 most absent senator of the 110th Congress. (Look it up for yourself). He ranked behind even Senator Tim Johnson, who took several months off while recovering from a brain hemorrhage. Nice of McSame to parachute in for this one (although he apparently had no significant opinion on the crisis or any solutions to propose). But as someone else pointed out, McCain & his good buddy Phil Gramm caused most of this mess with their greed-is-good, deregulate-everything legislation earlier this decade…so if Mr. McSame wants someone to blame for the crisis, he need only look in the mirror…By Ethel S.

Let us just hope that the Congress does not pass a bailout law no one can live with because Sen. McCain was not there to keep a watchful eye the law did not get filled up with a lot of pork and spending. Once again, Sen. McCain goes where the problems are to deal with them, while Sen. Obama gives some more speeches. Warren Buffet called this crisis, a “financial Pearl Harbor.” I want a Navy pilot on this one. Vote for McCain! America First!By Jim 5

So Philman, Obama’s advisor on the housing crisis is former CEO Frank Raines of Fannie Mae who recieved a firing bonus of $20 million? Wait, that was last week’s “crisis”. This week it is heavy-smoker Barack Obama who is going to lecture McCain on the importance of a president’s health. Please stay current.By Monique

CFNeumann What is up with you putting an N before Obama’s name. Is that some sort of subliminal message. I understand about typos but to do it two messages in a row seems blatant to me.By Monique

If the poll is reliable, I would say it is in part because the Slimy low life liberals at the DDN, there overly biased articles make me sick, thats why I droped my subscription. they ran a story about an ex MCcain adviser taking money from Freddie Mac , while Ignoring the story about Obama being the second highest recipeient of Donations from them, $125,000.00 and his current adviser Frank raines made over $90 millions of dollars in 6 yrs there at Freddie Mac. before being fired for fraud. now comes a story that Sec.of State Brunner is telling the polling places to disregard Republican absentee ballots if they fail to check off a box. have you read any of this in the DDN , TIME to CANCEL>>By Vermonter

CFNeumann, when in doubt here you come with your really brillant, insightful and witty comments about how bad Obama is and how great you and McCain/Pailn are. Keep typing because it seems to be working really well. Go Obama!By Ed

McCain’s ridiculous attempted gimmick to delay the debate failed, and he’s given in. Maybe he also realized that he wasn’t actually contributing to the bipartisan compromise at all; I like how he simply “declined to take a stand” at the meetings yesterday. That’s really presidential, right there. I can’t wait to see him look like a fool tonight.By CFNeumann

FYI, nObama’s whining & kicking & screaming was due to his having to study hard for the last 3 days so he could debate. Perhaps he should have taken the Palin crash course on foreign policy instead! :DBy CFNeumann

Yup, the latest stunt by nObama is causing global warming. Just because of his whining & kicking & screaming, there is going to be an avoidable waste of jet fuel to get the candidates to MS and then back to DC. Oh, wait, Obama doesn’t think there is a crisis so he wont be wasting the jet fuel to get back to DC.By Ed

Ohioans are coming around to reason, then? This latest stunt should be a clear indication of how wreckless this clown would be in office. By the way, I’m so glad he got that whole financial crises straightened out so he could participate in tonights debate. whew that was close. What’s next, global warming? Git ‘er done by Monday? Give me a break.By C A Wren

THE CAPTAIN OF The TITANIC WANTS TO StEER THE SHIP McCain along with lobbyist friend Phil Gramm championed the deregulation bill and that is what got us into this greedy mess. The same John McCain that said just a few days ago that the economy was fundamentally sound. He who has admitted that his understanding of the economy is limited. I have a sinking feeling……By Jim 5

McCain has a history of campaigning despite the polls, not because of them. He will continue to expose the differences between himself and Obama such as taxation, national defense, federal spending, and government accountability. I doubt McCain even watches the polls day-to-day.
