Who helps more - Biden or Palin?
If Sarah Palin visits St. Clairsville and Marietta, can Joe Biden be far behind?
Actually, Biden, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, will be about two days behind Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate.
Palin campaigned in Marietta and St. Clairsville in eastern Ohio on Sunday, Oct. 12, and Biden is expected there on Tuesday, Oct. 14, as both campaigns ramp up efforts in Ohio’s Appalachian region, a key political battleground.
Biden’s stop will be part of a two-day bus trip through eastern Ohio. On Tuesday, he’s also visit Warren and Marietta and on Wednesday, Oct. 15, he’s expected in Athens, Lancaster and Newark.
Palin and Biden have the same job - to help the person at the top of their ticket in Ohio - Republican John McCain for Palin and Democrat Barack Obama for Biden.
Here’s a chance to say who you think helps th emost.

Mike, you want an original thought, here you go. The social programs of America do not work. Social programs are suppose to help you get back on your feet. Ours do not do that. The democrats want people to be dependent on the government, that’s how they get rich. Pelosi, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and even Obama will all tell you that is not true, but they are wealthy aren’t they? When I was a struggling young single mother, I tried to get help. I made a little over minimum wage. daycare was becoming a business and getting more expensive. All I needed was help with daycare, I could not get it. Now if I quit my job, I could get all the help I wanted. All I wanted was help to pay my daycare so I would have more for food (we were living on rice, hotdogs, cereal, and milk). I couldn’t even get food stamps. There were no luxuries, no movies, clothes came from garage sales. I had many friends fully on assistance and had been for years, they could not get off. The programs are designed to keep you. So no, I do not like Obama’s policies. The people that are in congress and the house with Obama as President will just make things worse. Look Pelosi is already calling for more money. WE DON’T HAVE ANY MONEY. Pelosi’s state is broke! Do you know why! They have so many entitlement programs and the illegals get those programs too! Do you know in San Francisco they pay $7,000 a month to house illegal juvenile delinquents in detention homes and they don’t even know if they are really juveniles. We have been fighting the problems in urban schools for centuries, no matter how much money you throw at them they don’t get better. Why? Because the majority of them don’t care to put any effort into maintaining what they have been given. You cannot force people to be responsible. So people should not be forced to help people that refuse to help themselves.By Mike

Leslie, I am glad you are one of the wealthy people of this country to experience the American dream. It’s sad that you do understand that the middle class needs help in their everyday living expenses. They should not be burden with majority of the taxes, but I know you have to discredit the Democrats from previous blogs.By It'sMe

Ohio helped elect Bush twice as President. Our unemployment rate is higher than other surrounding states. Our young are leaving to other cities and states. When are we going to wake up and figure out who has been bashing us in the head for the last 8 years? The Republicans controlled the White House since 2000 and the Congress from 1994-2006. The Republicans try to distract us with phony patriotism and an appeal to our worst fears while they push for economic policies that favor management and the rich of the country. If you are not earning over $250,000, you should have your head examined if you consider voting Republican this year.By Decision Made

I am voting for Obama. 9/11 was Bin Laden’s attack on us and he was located in in Afghanistan at the time (probably in Pakastan now). That’s where the war should have stayed but focus switched when GW Bush decided to finish his daddy’s failure. Neither finished what they should have and never will. Someone else will have to clean up their messes. Obama has a very white mother. Why would he sanction for the black race only? I can’t tell Palin from Tina Fey. Funny lady but not very VPish. Biden tried for president and had followers. He could have made it. If Palin had tried she wouldn’t have had a chance. How many lives has McCain have left? That scares me as well as that I don’t believe he can change. I’m not out to change anyone’s mind. I just wanted to share with the one’s who agree and let those who don’t know why.By Leslie

Definition of a terrorist: somebody using violence for political purposes: somebody who uses violence, especially bombing, kidnapping, and assassination, to intimidate others, often for political purposes. What has Obama done to be classified as a terrorist from this definition? If you say intimidate then we are all guilty of that one and we are all terrorist. McCain even states Obama is NOT a terrorist.By Mike

WARNING!!!-Any attempt to inject rational thought or logic into the cerebro-spinal fluid of a wingnut like Leslie can result in a severe immune system reaction called rightwingus-spasmodica. Symptoms include hallucinations of straw men, serious episodes of projectile thought vomiting; whereby random, illogical and disjointed words are spewed in an effort to rid the body of all foreign intellectual matter which might be present in the body’s internal organs. This spewing can also be accompanied by spastic twitching, bulging eyes and sever dilation of veins in the neck and head area. If you are in close proximity to a wing nut exhibiting these symptoms, do not attempt to lend aid or assistance yourself. Immediately call the nearest FOX News or talk radio station in your area. They will dispatch a licensed professional wing nut to lend aid and assistance to the stricken individual. Rightwingus-spasmodica is not easily transferable through casual contact. Contamination is usually the result of prolonged exposure to inane and false right wing talking points. The only known cure is heavy and periodic doses of fact based discussion. And even then, a definitive cure is by no means assured.By Bill

k.I am not an obamait or a chicken. I am also not a follower of Obama. The reason that I early voted here in Ohio is that he has a plan for this country unlike McCain. I really don’t hate people who disagree with me just because I voted for Obama. I am not going to follow him to “re-education” camps in China, Cambodia and Germany. I am very passionate about Obama being our next President.By kim

k…There is no hatred and Democrats have been in the office before. I have never heard of special “re-education” camps like in Cambodia, China, and Germany before. If anything there is hatred in the Republicans campaign. I am happy that McCain has lighted his speeches and finally stated nice comments about Obama not being an Arab or a terrorist; and I give him credit for changing his tone. It is quite scary to think his followers were ready to off a president candidate for those reason.By k

I am amazed at the depth of hatred that the obamaites have for those who disagree with them. I have no doubt if their guy wins they will gladly escort those of us on the right to special “re-education” camps like in cambodia , China, and Germany . I have all the facts about Obama and all of my immediate family including me is voting for Obama because my family doesn’t want a repeat of the last eight years. I know that Obama is Christian because I obtain all of my information from Obama’s website and from my field organizer. I am a proud supporter and volunteer of Obama’s. Yes We Can and GO Obama.By Jim

I really don’t understand the attachment to this lowest common denominator politician - a woman so unqualified for Vice President that her running mate should be questioned for his lack of judgment. As a patriot and voter, I disagree categorically with the choice of Sarah Palin. I seek knowledge, experience, maturity, integrity, charity, clarity, humanity, intellectual curiosity, and wisdom from the leaders I select.Palin, in my opinion, exhibits none of these traits.Try this as an experiment. Put on an audio of a Sarah Palin speech. Close your eyes and listen. What you’ll hear is the high pitched voice of a teenage girl, speaking in circular reasoning, incomplete sentences, and juvenile idioms. No sophistication. No leadership. No wisdom. Just the sound of a snarky school girl. Sarah Palin is America’s greatest nightmare.By kim

This year I am sure we can all agree economy and jobs trumps everything. It will trump Iraq war, race, and abortion issues. I will vote for Barack Obama. My family cannot make it another 4 years of the same republican trickle down economic plan of McCain. This has not worked. None of us in Ohio is better off than 8 years ago. Obama will create jobs by building inside the US. New infrastructure projets include roads, bridges, levys etc. This will mean jobs for everyone in every aspect of business. Obama also will take away the tax credit for moving jobs outside the US. Tax breaks will be given to companies that keep jobs in the USA. I will vote for the democratic platform this year strictly because it is in the best interest of my family.By jneill7854

First off, specialneedsmom - what an incredibly judgemental and sexist comment. If you don’t like Palin for her politics, then just say it. How can you criticize someone else’s personal decision simply because it is not the same one you made. And are men not capable of caring for special needs children. Get a grip. As for the question at hand, Palin at least adds some unashamed conservatism to the ticket. The conservative philosophy really would be best for the country, its just too bad we can’t get someone as well-spoken as Obama to lead the pack.By springboro mom

Palin has a 5 month old baby with special needs. When I had an autistic son, I quit work to take care of him and ensure he got everything he needs. 8 years later, this year in fact, my son mainstreamed into school. Biden has the experience and background for the job of VP. His foreign policy experience plus being around the world and our country. Palin should return to Alaska to tend to her pregnant daughter, prepare for the shotgun wedding and care for her children. Being “close” to Russia and perhaps visiting Canada are poor qualifications for VP.By b
