John McCain is not the same man as I saw in Arizona giving a speech at Luke AFB, say around 1974. The republican party of today is no where near the republican party of Reagan, Goldwater or Ike. The republican party of today is a bunch of hate filled liars. Bush and Cheney are examples of that. McCain/Palin are Bush /Cheney clones. The reason the republicans have turned to hate and lies is because they have lost the people. A war based upon lies, an economy in the toilet, and so munch scandal within the republican ranks have caused the american public to shun and hate the republican party. They did it to themselves. The democrats did not cause the republican dysfunction. The republican party has to take responsibility for their own failure to lead. Perhaps in another four years, the republicans can try again. A few words of advice to the republicans. Ditch the evangelical two issue concept and look towards all the people; regardless of religion. Quit using fear as a motivator. Get rid of people like Rove and run an honest campaign. Admit when you are wrong.

And what does Sen. McCain get for serving his country honorably, criticism heaped on his family, his age, and his long distinguished record? Sen. McCain’s energy and spirit are also very impressive. He is a fighter because America is worth fighting for and has the record to show his dedication to this country. The choice of Gov. Palin was a good one too because the GOP needs more change in DC. For all who criticize her college, here is a bulletin, not everyone wants to go to Ivy League schools or become a lawyer. The message is, Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are comfortable with themselves and are real people. They even all a sense of humor. After months and months of a lot of expensive media coverage, I still do not really know Sen. Obama. There is not a lot of transparency and his record is limited. He seems to spend a lot of time bashing, mocking, and complaining. Vote for McCain/Palin, Country First!

When McCain came back from Vietnam, he cheated repeatedly on his crippled wife, and then divorced her to marry Cindy Hensley. In the 1980’s McCain lobbied for Charles Keating, the saving and loan felon who stole billions in pension money, and took numerous jet set vacations at Keating’s expense. His campaigns for the Senate were all financed with his wife Cindy’s mob money. In 1994 Cindy McCain forged prescriptions in the names of her employees and stole drugs from her own charity. McCain’s campaign this year is getting huge amounts of oil company money. His pick for vice president abused her power as governor of Alaska by using the power of her office for a personal vendetta. McCain is 72 years old, has had cancer 5 times and is on 5 different medications. He is so out of it, that his staff does not want him talk to the press unscripted.

In the chaos leading up to this historic election, there is one theme that has been reverberating across our country. That theme has been the eloquence of a gifted speaker, Barack Obama. Barack can articulate with the stunning expressions of a prophet leading his flock to the Promised Land. Barack has such self-belief that his phrases transcend the ages. Yet, for all his persuasiveness the one thing that I, an interested American and the wife of a small town mayor, amassed is Barack’s knack for the melodramatic. I have heard Barack referred to as “no drama Obama”, I think this is a misnomer. Barack is in truth tremendously melodramatic. “Turn the page” is in Barack’s latest spiritual homily. “Turn the page” is communicated with the voice of a well practiced lecturer. Again, the melodrama is resonated even in an open air forum. But for all the histrionics the only thought I have assembled is that I have a savior and his name is not Barack Obama. Another quote by Barack in the International Herald Tribune is “In one week, you can put an end to the politics that would divide a nation just to win an election, that tries to pit region against region, city against town and Republican against Democrat, that asks us to fear at a time when we need hope.”In one week’s time, at this defining moment in history, you can give this country the change we need.” One thing I do agree with Barack about is that this is indeed a defining moment. My trepidation for our nation is that we do not look beyond the nuances of a fine orator rather my hope for our nation is that we choose our next president with the wisdom our forefathers’ bestowed upon us. Many a nation has been mesmerized by a dynamic personality only to discover that the person designated to lead their nations had neither the knowledge nor experience to be a leader. What those nations fell for was just a façade, a house of cards. Let us learn from history…be a student of history… let us define OUR history. It belongs to us, all of us. Look beyond the eloquence, look beyond the stunning expressions, look beyond the elegant phrases; to be more precise look beyond the melodrama. Look for the tangible and concrete evidence of a leader. A leader who has acknowledged his shortcomings as well as his virtues, a leader whose very existence has been a lesson in “the audacity of hope”. We are one nation no one needs to tell us that. We are a nation of hope no one can take that away from us just by saying it is not so. Elect the person whose example of courage is one that we can be proud of as a nation. Elect John McCain for President of these United States.

Can anyone else out there just not WAIT until this election is over? Obama and McCain seem like decent, honest people and they’d both be better Presidents than George Bush (who, I have to admit I voted for in 2000). For me it comes down to the VPs. I was so pleased to have a chance to vote for a woman after Hillary didn’t make it, but the more I hear Sarah Palin speak the more afraid I get that something could happen to John Mccain while he’s in the White House and we’d be looking to this lady to run our country for us. My instinct is to vote for a Republican but if it’s ok with everyone, I think I’ll just sit this one out.

Obviously, ben has been listening to way too much FOX, Limbaugh and Hannity. Obama is by no means a “socialist” and certainly not a racist or elitist. I do not know of any member of any church that agrees with the senior pastor 100% of the time. And, most churches have individuals that only attend for the social environment and not because of the minister. Or what the minister says. McCain does not attend church but, is getting votes from the evangelical block. Why? because evangelicals are narrow minded and would vote for Hitler, if Hitler claimed to be anti-abortion and anti-gay. Ben, you appear to be the racist and appear to use unsubstantiated “facts” from the right wing media. The American public has grown weary of divisionary tactics. Suggest that you research the individual media outlets, right wing, left and centrist.

When a hard left tax-and-spend Democrat from Chicago promises you a middle-class tax cut, you have to be awfully gullible to believe him. When that candidate and his own team keep dropping the border-line — from $250k to $200k to $150k, and now as low as $120k — between the “rich” who won’t get a tax cut and the “middle class” who supposedly will, then you have to ask yourself, what can I believe? Obama’s original position was that he would raise taxes on families making more than $250,000 a year and individuals making more than $200,000. But in his new ad, “Defining Moment,” he seems to lower it to $200,000 for families. “Here’s what I’ll do as president,” Obama says in the ad. “To deal with our current emergency I’ll launch a rescue plan for the middle class that begins with a tax cut for 95 percent of working Americans. If you have a job, pay taxes and make less than $200,000 a year, you’ll get a tax cut.” That seems kind of ambiguous, but the graphic on the screen says clearly: “Families making less than $200,000 get tax cut.” Joe Biden then said that the threshold for middle class is $150,000 a year. Friday morning on KOA-AM, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson pegged the middle class as those making $120,000 and under, saying, “”What Obama wants to do is he is basically looking at $120,000 and under among those that are in the middle class, and there is a tax cut for those.” You have to ask yourself, what can I believe from a guy who will say and do anything to get elected?

Anyone who supports Obama is supporting a racist, elitist, socialist, lover of the hard left wing whack jobs of America. He has continued to associate with like minded individuals. He can’t say he didn’t know what Wright was saying from his pulpit, he sat there 20 years and listened and agreed to the black racist with his anti American views. He can’t say he didn’t know what Ayers had done with the weatherman as Ayers was on the cover of a magazine standing on the American Flag. He can’t say he didn’t know what Resco was up to, he went to prison after making Obama a sweetheart deal on a lot of land so Barak could add on to his land holdings at his 2 million dollar mansion. He has consistently over the years aligned himself with haters of the American way and mark my words, it is his intention to get the US aligned into a socialist way. He listens to racist poetry written by his “mentor” Frank. His wife wrote her thesis about how bad America is and stated she had never been proud of her country. Barak Obama would never, ever be in the running if it weren’t for half his race. If he had been completely white, his complete lack of background, his views on redistribution of wealth would not have permitted him this seat. He has not accomplished anything in his life to justify his presence other than a beautiful way of speaking and a dark tone to his skin. If John McCain had attended the David Duke church for 20 years the leftists in this country would have had him run off the ticket years ago, but we give Barak a pass on Wright. He gets a pass on his associations with every other scum bag he’s sat on boards with or written forwards to their books on only because of his race. To bring it up causes all the idiots to start yelling you’re a racist. Not true. There is so much about this guys background that it’s scary. His radical associations are enough that he couldn’t get a federal job requiring a clearance. He will have people working for him with security clearances that he could not obtain because of how he has conducted his personal life. You people supporting him better think long and hard about what you are doing. Pelousi and Barney Frank are standing on the sidelines rubbing their hands together. Those 2 whack jobs will assist Barak in continuing the fall of this great country. Is John McCain the best? Heck no, there are hundreds better than he, but even having said that he is miles ahead of Obama. Am I happy with Palin? For about the first 24 hours I was, but she’s getting on my nerves, but at least she appears able to understand what the truth is and tell it. Lying Joe Biden wouldn’t know the truth if it jumped up and ripped his hair implants out. Everyone keeps blaming the repubs on the bank bailouts and failures. It was Barney Frank and others who fought the oversite McCain kept demanding. It was Barney Frank and others who sat at the hearings telling the American people that the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac systems were fine, not needing any additional oversight and inferring racism on the part of the people demanding additional oversight. It was the democrats who obstructed the investigations. A president doesn’t reduce taxes, a president creates no jobs, a president does not keep our country safe. He does none of that without the Congress. Obama can’t even get his tax reduction numbers straight, is it under 250, 150, 120, 42? His “programs” are so expensive that he cannot reduce taxes, he is going to take what you have worked so hard for, if indeed you work and he’s going to give it to the non earners who are leeches to society. That has been his mantra for years and he is days away from giving that a try. The only upside is he will only be a one term president. I am scared at what he will leave for the next president to clean up. Think think think. Do you want someone with this guys associations and uncertain background in charge of the safety of your family and your bank accounts? I know I don’t.

A third party candidate is not going to be an issue in this election. Perhaps down the road but, not now. The Anti-abortion folks must look at all senseless killing, war and the death penalty included. Obama is not a moslem. Middle class taxes will be lower with Obama, Obama never sanctioned gay marriage and, actually Palin condones civil unions. Obama is not a “marxist” And, in reality, the republican agenda is closer to fascism. The current republicans have basically ignored the constitution and have contempt for it. So, in this election, a third party candidate will not cause one side or the other to win. And, may hurt McCain more.

If you want to work harder and pay more taxes; vote Obama. If you believe homosexual marriage is “normal”; vote Obama. If you believe Marxism should be the American model; vote Obama. For those who love life, liberty, and the Constitution; vote Baldwin!

The mystery to me is how anyone can find Sarah Palin qualified to be VP. In her interviews she has clearly shown an ignorance about everything the job entails. She’s come up short on Economics, Foreign Policy, History, Health Care, Constitutional Law, etc… It’s like hiring Joe The Plumber to do brain surgery.

This is absolutely astounding! Obama uses Bobby Kennedy’s old desk in the Senate and started his run for the Senate in Bill Ayers’ living room. Now we find out that Ayers 1974 communist manifesto included a dedication to, of all people, Sirhan Sirhan,Bobby’s assassin! How can any self respecting Democrat vote for Obama with this knowledge? How can Teddy Kennedy continue to support him? Astounding!

Obama didn’t change a city as a community organizer, Obama didn’t change a state as a State Senator, Obama ran for president as a member if the Senate…not much change there. Obama could have changed the living conditions of an elderly Aunt by spreading HIS wealth around. At the very least Obama could have helped his elderly Aunt become a legal immigrant; he did NOT! I don’t think he can change a nation with that track record!-
