Obama speaks to 80,000 in Cleveland, despite the rain
CLEVELAND- The rain came but that didn’t stop Democrat Barack Obama from firing up a crowd estimated at 80,000 today, Nov. 2.
“A new day is coming, sunshine is on the way,” Obama said about half way through his 34-minute speech on a grassy downtown mall near Lake Erie. He spoke after Bruce Springsteen warmed up the crowd with a set of favorites.
As he had earlier in Columbus before a crowd of 60,000, Obama called Republican John McCain a “sidekick” to President Bush, not a “maverick.”
He urged the cheering crowd not to take victory for granted, but to pound on more doors and make more phone calls.
“If you will stand with me, and fight by my side, and cast your ballot for me, then I promise you this - we will not just win Ohio, we will win this election, and together, we will change this country and we will change the world,” Obama said before heading for Cincinnati and what is likely his final Ohio campaign appearance before voting on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

An Obama presidency should fit in nicely with plans Islamic terrorists have for America. Afterall, they’ve waited patiently since 9/11/01, and soon won’t have those pesky Iraq/Afghanistan wars to preoccupy them and thwart their efforts! (Obama supporters - be careful what you wish for.)By sd

For the undecided, just remember the last eight years. A war in Iraq, based upon lies - supported by McCain. Attempts to privatize social security - supported by McCain. The Bush policies - supported by McCain. Support of corporated greed - McCain. Support of the oil companies - McCain. Support of the Bush lobbyists - McCain. Let see, job losses, a failed economy, the housing crisis, the war in Iraq, based upon lies, McCain. It’s no wonder that Cheney endorsed McCain. Usually criminals stick together.By Steadfast

Jim: your publication of the Obama cv demontsrates he has no experience. His longer tenured job was a few years. His community organization was teaching others how to steal elections. He had a most unimpressive academic record at Occidental College in California and very low scores on standardized tests on the ACT and LSAT. As you noted, all he has done before running for the Presidency, was make a speech at the 2004 DNC. As Hillary said, all he brings is a speech, rhetoric, but no record. Now that he wants to bankrupt Ohioans bt taxing coal and driving electricity costs up, Ohio is not going to be conned into voting for this completely unqualified man. Perhaps he can continue to practice law after his defeat, or will he be planning for 2012?By Jim

A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review, Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving three terms in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004. He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. Following an unsuccessful bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000, he announced his campaign for the U.S. Senate in January 2003. After a primary victory in March 2004, Obama delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. He was elected to the Senate in November 2004 with 70 percent of the vote. As a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, Barack Obama helped create legislation to control conventional weapons and to promote greater public accountability in the use of federal funds. He also made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. During the 110th Congress, he helped create legislation regarding lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for returned U.S. military personnel. obama, the clear choice.By Jay

For all the undecideds here’s a quick and easy to understand tip for you on the difference between Barack Obama and John McCain: John McCain - a Republican, and Barack Obama - a Democrat , were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person. McCain gave the homeless person a friend’s business card and told him go see his friend for a job. He then took twenty dollars out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person. Obama was very impressed with how McCain handled himself. When they came to another homeless person, Obama decided to help. He walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the nearest welfare office. Obama then reached into John McCain’s pocket, took out FIFTY dollars, and gave it to the homeless person.By Barbara

As I sit here at my desk thinking of this historical moment, I am proud of Barrack stand for ecerything that America is: Incrediable strenght when things look bleak, perserverance when one is so tired that he can’t go on, faith that we will get through this and knowing that his faith will take him the rest of the way. I will vote for Barrock, not because he is black but because he has proven himself in spite of ALL odds that he is the right man for the job. I will keep you in my prayers Barock. While I am thinking of you, I will be praying for you all at the same time!!!! A Virginia School TeacherBy otimio vasquez

80,000 in cleveland, 60,000 in columbus 100,000 in st. louis 100,000 in denver The list goes on and on. This is a movement and more than just campaign events. If you look at the speech that McCain gave at the RNC convention and compare it to the “new stump speech” they are the same. Of course, FOX had to call it different. But, when Jon Stewart played them side by side, they were the same. McCain is a Bush clone. Palin is a joke.By Kaye

Oh yeah. Like McCain and Palin never repeat themselves with all of their “maverick” and “terrorist” and “joe the plumber.” If this is what you’re basing your choice on, then I leave you to the ruins that will be our country if the Republicans keep the white house.By Ethel S.
