MSNBC, CBS, ABC, CNN call Ohio for Obama

Both MSNBC and CBS called Ohio for Democrat Barack Obama about 9:25 p.m. today, Nov. 4. ABC called the state for the Democrat shortly after that and CNN made its call for Ohio soon after that.

That was bad news for Republican John McCain. No Republican has been elected president without carrying Ohio.

Exit polls showed Obama won because voters valued change and the economy, and they gave him the edge there.

Ohio was the first of the major battleground states that had voted Republican in 2004 to switch to Democratic this year, according to the projections.

A win in Ohio would move Obama close to the 270 electoral votes he needs to be elected president.

Wonderful OHIO! Finally, we got it right this time. It will take a long time for improvments to begin, but at least internationally, they finally believe we have done this one right. Now, let’s all begin to support the American People by supporting our new elected president. And maybe we will not have to hear from Palin for a long time…but then the last thing about Palin believing Africa was a country…well she does make news.

Folks, Please remember that based on the election results, the majority of us have risen above racism. Additionally, the new generation of voters confirms that with each generation we are erasing the unacceptable and antiquated bigotry. Don’t let a few bigoted thinkers let you think otherwise and ruin this moment!

Wow!it is so sad to see that people here in Ohio still can’t let go of that good ole boy mentality. As a person who has lost my job and worried to death about health care I am happy to see that there are some of those who just understand that this election was about changing it was about all of us. Remember God is looking down on all of you who still hold so much hate and ignorants in your heart.

Issue 2 titled “clean Ohio” had pork that will rebuild section eight housing once again. Just a few dollars will make it to our outdoors. People who choose to live off the system came out winners of the 2008 election.

Oh. come on people of Dayton. You should be proud that you helped elect an intelligent, innovative, driven man who happens to be of mixed race. Americans have shown that we as a people can use our brains to elect a great President instead of using our prejudices to rule our thinking.

Wow! After being so excited about witnessing a historic event, I check this blog and once again am disgusted by the racism and hatred that exists in this town. Dayton, we have so far to go…so much ground to cover. Not everyone is happy with the outcome tonight, but we are on the same team. We are all Americans. We need to unite and pull together to pull ourselves out of this mess. I know many of you are disappointed, but this isn’t the Super Bowl, this isn’t the World Series, this is the future of our nation and the rest of the world is watching us. This is a moment in time, a moment in history, a moment when we can hopefully begin to leave racism and hatred behind us. Each of us has a part to play - will you be part of the problem or part of the solution. We are Dayton, Ohio. WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS! Get over yourselves, get over your disappointment, focus on the big picture and do your part to make our town, our state, our nation better. But for the love of God, please stop spewing your hatred.

What disappoints me is the way the third party canidates have been ignored. We need more than 2 parties, that’s why it’s so corrupt, two thieving factions fighting over the spoils of a controlled election.

1.WAS everyone this upset when Bush jr. carried Ohio for 2 terms? I was out of state and could not believe that after 1 term Ohio actually put him in for 4 more years!! Where were you then? I guess you feel it is o.k. to go overseas and take over a country you have no business in because the one you just bombed the heck out of and left in ruins AND DID NOT GET OSSAMA still sets there and so does the man who sent killers to America. 2. I was around when Kennedy was elected president. Thank God no one said now we will all have to turn catholic or suffer the consequences. If it was said I did not hear it. I was a small child but I did not ear it, 3. Not all people of color are on welfare. I guess that is pretty enlightening. I know generations of whites that do not have and will not have jobs, and I am white… 4. I know families of color that are really well off and live the same as you, hopefully you are up to that standard! 5. I truly do not know why you can not set your differences aside and make this the best country on this Earth as we once were. Let the man do his job and help him to make this a better country, no matter who wins or what color they are. 6. To the poor soul that said that they feel that there is a government behind this government…I am so glad you have finally awakened and are not sleeping your life away anymore…no it does not matter who runs some others rule..

November 4, 2008 11:04 PM | Link to this

if i wanted to give more money it should be my choice, not the people that don’t work and go out and vote to take it from me!!! if i want to give more that is what charity is for. i work 45 hours a week to make it without ever having taken a penny from the government and my job does not require a college degree, but i still make good money. Not everyone needs to go to college to make it!!! but i guess it is my duty to pay for it. some people need the government for a while but there are far too many that live off of it(and you surely cant argue that). personally i dont think you should be able to vote if you are not a productive member of society. i know people that are on welfare that live in much nicer homes than i do, so what more can i do for them, give them new cars too. that sounds great, we should all quit our jobs and join them. but then who would pay for everything.

For the “person” that just said that McCain has no Honor left, let me remind you that he IS honor. Your black candidate has never known the word honor, and has never served. NEVER SERVED. McCain has served, and suffered for his country, while Obama can’t even provide an American birth certificate.

And it seems to be hurting you. I guess you are standing on the stupid people side of the room… Join the party… seems to be a lot of you here tonight. Enjoy! You make comments about helping others… How did you make it, if you actually did? did you pull yourself up by yourself? Get any help from mom and dad? Think they did it all on their own? That is what we do, as PEOPLE. So many of you look out for yourselves only… but if were you, you would want and need the help. You all complain about others needing things as you sit in your home, hoarding onto your things, thinking that will bring you joy out of life. Instead you all are grumpy, hurting, out of touch angry shells of people. Get it together…

It saddens me that we are in a time that people, wether they be white or black are free, and yet, all of you look at a person’s skin color, make a judgement, and you make a judgement on a WHOLE group of people. If I got on this site and called all white people horrible names and talked about how we were all going to you know where in a hand basket because the “white man” one, I would be just like you. I would say that you all should be ashamed of yourselves, but that would mean that you were all enlightened enough to know that you are wrong. Grow up, grow out, and get better. What you write here was not what free speech meant. These are the most ignorant comments ever. And you are supposed to call yourselves human… I hate to call you all american.
