Is Blackwell back?

The Hotline and the Atlantic are reporting this morning that former Ohio secretary of state Ken Blackwell is now considering a bid for Republican National Committee chair.

Blackwell lost his bid for Ohio governor in 2006, and has been writing at Town Hall and heading up the Coalition for a Conservative Majority.

They report that if he were to be a candidate for the RNC gig, two African Americans would vie to be one of the party’s leading voices during an Obama administration.

Michael Steele, the former Maryland lieutenant governor, is also in the mix.

yes, bring blackwell back, have the wasilla hillbilly as a candidate, along with one of the deviants; foley, or larry craig. Then, have enron as a campaign donor again. Preech moral values like ted haggard practices, perhaps have a radio show hosted by a right wing drug addict. What fun!

Proof of how desperate Republicans are not to lose in 2012. Blackwell’s experienced at fixing elections, so he’ll be a welcome addition to continue the fine traditions of Karl Rove and his ilk.

Racial hatred - fear mongering….all the inflammatory rhetoric you on the left love to use. Nice flame throwing. It lacks any kind of basis but what the heck - with you folks its not the facts that are important, only the accusations. Bet your standing there with your chest all puffed up, proud of yourself for such a good insult. Campaigns over - you don’t have to act or speak like a jackass anymore.

Perhaps Blackwell could move to West Chester. That way, West Chester could have two village idiots.

Man, the GOP could not be more obvious in their attempt to show the world, “SEE, WE’VE GOT BLACK GUYS TOO. AND SINCE WE HAVE BLACK PEOPLE, YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR US”. They really don’t get it. If this is part of their strategy to regain some relevance then they are going to be wandering in the desert for a long, long time. Sticking a token black face at the forefront of their party cannot undo the years of racial hatred and fear-mongering they have foisted on this country. How lame can you get. Blackwell is the very model of right wing GOP orthodoxy that was roundly rejected in the last two elections. And this helps the party…….how??? Tone deaf, GOP. You are just plain tone deaf.

Well, THAT’s a relief. I thought, from reading just the headline for this item, that Ken was coming back to OHIO. The Republican National Committee can have him if it wants. He’d make a dandy chairman — can’t think of anyone better suited to re-arranging the deck chairs on the GOP version of the H.M.S. Titanic.

The whole GOP has only 5 or 6 blacks, Blackwell, Steele, Keyes, Condi Rice, and uh,um. Ok, the GOP only has 4 African American members.

Why not get Alan Keyes to run too? That would get the Republican party three whole African-American candidates!
