The Greene and Butler County Young Republicans are hosting the event and Montgomery County Young Republicans also are expected to attend and participate, Kasich’s campaign said.

Kasich, a former U.S. House member from suburban Columbus, is running against incumbent Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland.

Mr. Logic, The fact that foolish companies were saved on the backs of taxpayers is not a valid argument to throw business under the bus and praise government intervention. Big companies who buy their political influence were bailout out, choking the lean, mean small businesses that could make a better mouse trap. The capital that could flow to better ideas is confiscated from taxpayers and funneled through government bureaucracy to the behemoth, antiquated corporations. The paid-off politicians play on the fear of lost jobs when, in reality, those jobs would be lost at the failed company but many would re-appear at the better-run competitors. The customers still need a good or service and would flock to those remaining. As the demand for the good or service increase, the companies would need to adapt by hiring more people. Having government pick the winners and losers instead of the free market only serves to snuff out smaller competitors who do not get the artificial cash infusions via the government. Also, please cite your evidence regarding the funding behind the Young Republicans. I happen to be a Libertarian and don’t subscribe to the platform of either party. However, I have heard quite a bit of deception with respect to individuals who voice dissent. A group of individuals who have the same opinion on a particular issue does not make them an easily-boxed group. Therefore, please present facts before casting aspersions on the sincerity of one’s beliefs or actions.

I have my concerns about Mr. Kasich. I would really prefer that the Republicans run a candidate with a better background than Mr. Kasich who was the Managing Director of the Investment Banking section of Lehman Brothers. I would prefer a candidate with a record of economic successes.

Ms. Cheryl, please share some impressive things about Mr. Kasich from your research. So everyone can be impressed. What can Gov. Strickland do better?

As a longtime, registered Democrat, I was researching Kascih’s background this morning and I was impressed. I voted fro Strickland, but am now sorely disapointed in him. I look forward in seeing more of Kasich.

Mr. Logic, how do you know how the Young Republicans are funded? What banks, insurance companies and military contractors are funding them? I’m a member of the club and can tell you we have had no such thing in Greene County.

So, commentor Mr. Logic would have you believe that anyone employed by a business is being funded and that is a bad thing? Give me a break. John Kasich rose to the challenge while in Congress and will do so again as Governor of this great State of Ohio. I can’t wait to call him Governor.

Go to the meet and greet with Mr. Kasich if want to hear rhetorical phrases about getting big governmemt out of Ohioan’s lifes and how we should follow the example of corporate business. But not one idea or plan with substance about solving problems or issues in Ohio. Mr. Kasich is one Fox News talking head noboby should believe in. History lesson, the largest insurance company AIG, largest financial firm Merrill Lynch, largest auto maker GM, largest Bank, Bank of America all failed or/and had to be bailed out by the U. S. government and the taxpayer. Corporate business is not the example we want to follow. The Young Republicans are funded by corporate banks, insurnace companies and military contractors.
