Garrison opposition organizes on Facebook
Outlook Weekly publisher Michael Daniels of Columbus started “Oppose Jennifer Garrison for Secretary of State” on Facebook this week and in less than 24 hours had nearly 100 members.
Daniels, a self-described progressive Democrat, said Garrison, a state representative from Marietta, is anti-gay, anti-union, and pro-guns and is unsuitable for statewide office.
“It’s unacceptable and somebody had to take a stand on this,” Daniels said. “She’s on the wrong side of all the issues.”
But Garrison campaign spokesman Greg Beswick said Garrison’s opponents are off the mark and that Garrison supports a bill to prohibit housing and employment discrimination based on sexual orientation.
“They’ll see she is a lot more progressive than they were first told,” Beswick said.
Garrison is running against Franklin County Commissioner Marilyn Brown for the Democratic nomination for secretary of state in May 2010.
Garrison beat Republican Nancy Hollister for state representative, in part by criticizing Hollister’s opposition to an anti-gay marriage bill.

Joe-as opposed to what, sitting on his hands even though he strongly disagrees with the views and voting record of this candidate? Even if you’re a person who makes voting decisions based on party loyalty, we’re still in primary season here and the democratic party hasn’t made an endorsement. But according to you, actively speaking out and organizing in opposition to the candidate who doesn’t represent his views means he’s engaging in “the tactics of the radical left”? What, would he be a better patriot if he kept his mouth shut? I wonder if you would say the same of people on the Right who oppose GOP primary candidates they feel are too far to the left. Also - gee, I never knew creating a Facebook page counted as a “radical” tactic, or that attacking a candidate based on their voting record and issue stances is considered out of bounds.By Joe

Looks like Daniels incorporates the tactics of the radical left. Destroy those who don’t march in step with my beliefs, even if they are members of my own party. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!By Anne
