Dayton mayor, commission candidates taking part in candidate night downtown on Thursday

On Thursday, Oct. 1, the candidates for Dayton mayor and commission will take part in a candidates night event downtown.

Several communities and organizations have scheduled Candidates Night events for Dayton mayoral, commission and school board candidates for the November election.

Dayton Mayor Rhine McLin is running against challenger Gary Leitzell.

Incumbent commissioners Joey Williams and Nan Whaley are defending their two seats against David Esrati.

Current school board members Yvonne Isaacs, Stacy Thompson, Joe Lacey and Ronald Lee are running for their three seats along with challenger Jim Weir.

Here’s a partial list of upcoming events. Oct. 1: c}space, 20 N. Jefferson St., 6 p.m. Oct. 5: Ruskin School, 407 Ambrose Court, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12: Mary Queen of Peace Activity Center, 200 Homewood Avenue, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22: St. Anthony Elementary School, 825 Creighton Ave., 7 pm.

1 Patsy + 1 Sandy = 2 IDIOTS Can either one of you morons tell me what McClin has done for the city of Dayton?? And why she would deserve another term as mayor? In the history of this city no-one has every been elected for a third term!!! Are you telling me that she would qualify as the best mayor in the history of Dayton?? That is isane!! If these fools are re-elected, whats left of the people in Dayton will move away especially me and my family!!! Guaranteed!!!

It is so great to have these events in downtown Dayton, I am voting for Mayor McClin, she is still the right choice for Dayton

I’m voting for anyone with the biggest demolition plan. Demolish all the blight and vacancies in residential and commercial properties.

this one is for mayor mchat; how many more employers are you going to let leave the greater Dayton metro area without raising a finger? follow up question; how are your union bosses going to collect dues after they drive all the employers out of town?

open questions to the candidates 1) if you are an office holder; what have you done to lower my taxes? or are you a big government kind of person 2) if you are a non-office holder; what are you going to do to cut the size of government and government spending. we need less government, less government spending, and less taxes in this state. we need to treat government spending the way Freddy treats teenagers in the movies
