Tax breaks approved, 50 new jobs expected

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority voted 3-0 in favor of a six-year, 35 percent tax credit worth $55,466 beginning Jan. 1 for Composite Technologies Co. in Dayton.

The vote came Monday, Dec. 7, in Columbus.

The project is also benefiting from a $25,000 state grant, $25,000 city grant and $125,000 ED/GE grant.

Composite Technologies plans to lease a 45,000 square foot facility for a new composite resin mixing and molding division. The company plans to hire 50 more workers at $12 an hour plus benefits.

Montgomery County Administrator Deborah Feldman, a member of the tax credit authority, abstained from voting on the project.

It would be nice if actual research was done on these companies before giving them free money. This isn’t the first time money has been given to companies to create or retain jobs when the money actually goes into the pockets of the greedy management staff. they don’t give any of it to the workers that work hard to make their products and will easily cut their hours, pay or jobs when things look bad. maybe the managers should cut their pay and run the business right instead of relying on handouts to make their business work. most of the higher ups don’t know how to run a business or treat their people. shameless.

What happened to work ethics? There are two jobs that starts at the top, painting flag poles & and digging graves! Get real you can eat well for $12.00 per hr.

Again, another article that brings out those lofty soles that believe that $12/hr is unacceptable pay. Continue to sit on your duff and complain that there are no jobs to be had. Try getting a decent job, do a good job while working hard and move up the ladder to make a better living for you and your family. Then again, you can opt to stay on the dole of the working class and let us pay for your inane rantings while you watch Oprah and feel like the MAN is keeping you down.

i cant believe some people are so ignorant…a job is a job…no matter what it pays it is better then no job at all…we really need to stop acting like we deserve instant gratification and realize we need to work our way up in life…geez!

$12 an hour. How can anyone live comfortably on that. Thanks, but no thanks. Mix and mold the resins yourself. Don’t want to? May be it would be worth a little more to Composite Technologies Co. than that sorry sum. $12, benefits, and certain cancer yeah!
