Palin to headline Ohio Right to Life event

Former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin is coming to Ohio once again, this time to help Ohio Right to Life raise money.

Palin will give a speech at a $40 per person event Friday, Mar. 5, at the Aladdin Shrine Center at Easton in Columbus. Capacity at the venue is 4,000 people.

She’ll also attend a private reception with a smaller group of big donors, said Ohio Right to Life spokeswoman Elyse Putnam. Ticket prices for the private reception have yet to be set, she said.

“We are paying Sarah for the event but we’re under contract so I can’t discuss that,” Putnam said.

Hand out birth control free of charge, ban pregnancy for folks on assistance (or revoke assistance), and all the anti-abortion folks can line up and sign up to pay for all the children that end up in foster care. MY BLEIEFS say it is immoral to care for others before my own needs are met. Step up and pay for the kids and let the rest of us keep our money for our families. Pay for charity (extortion) out of your pockets and keep your hands out of mine.

Gee Leslie, you’re right, 3 kids do cost more than a vasectomy. So you must be saying that my daughter’s friends should have aborted one or more of her other children. As for assuming I am on Medicaid, you would be assuming incorrectly. I am not. My daughter’s friends do not live in Ohio, so I do not know what the regs are regarding Medicaid coverage in their state. She said they don’t have coverage, so I accept her statement. She did not say if her kids were on Medicaid or not and I did not ask. It’s you who does not know how to add Leslie.

Any health insurance policy that includes coverage for elective abortions is unacceptable…whether it be a republican or democratic policy. If heathcare is so important for everyone, then let’s get real about it and stop using it as a means for pushing forward other agendas.

For those of you that were not aware…the Republican National Committee’s own health insurance policy “includes” coverage for elective abortions. Do as I say, not as I do?

It’s really sad that someone would consider ending a beating heart because it may add a little more expense to the budget. Some things are more important than the almighty buck. Whatever happened to the idea of sacrificing for your family? I would give up a $120/mo. cable bill if it meant keeping my child from being slaughtered.

Mom and Grandma you story does not add up. Both parents work, but don’t have health insurance, have 3 kids but can’t afford a vasectomy, how did they afford to have 3 kids? The pregnancy of 3 kids costs more than a vasectomy, so one would assume you are on medicaid.

Anyone experience anything about the easy google profit kit? I discovered a lot of advertisements around it. I also found a site that is supposedly a review of the program, but the whole thing seems kind of sketchy to me. However, the cost is low so I’m going to go ahead and try it out, unless any of you have experience with this system first hand? www.onlineuniversalwork.com

One of my daughter’s friends from high school married at 19 and now has 3 kids at 29, the last one unplanned. They do not want another child. They feel they can not care for another child or afford another child. They both work, but don’t have health insurance. They checked the price of a vasectomy. They can’t afford the $1800. If their birth control fails again, an abortion is a lot cheaper than raising another child and than the wife losing pay from her job. If they had health insurance, the husband would get a vacestomy and they would not have a reason to consider abortion.

I clearly agree with education, but in this day and age how can you not know. There are so many avenues for information that don’t being informed has got to be a small minority. Ignorance is no excuse. I also don’t understand how you can afford an abortion, but cannot afford birth control.

In the US, rape and risk to the mother accounts for only about 1% of abortions. 75% of women having abortions cite finances as the main reason for having an abortion. Abortion is much higher among women with household income of under $30,000. If we really want to greatly reduce abortions (and we should), we need to reduce unwanted pregnancies and help women get out of poverty. We need to educate women about pregnancy prevention and provide better access to effective, affordable contraception. Affordable health care for all would be a great step in the right direction.

She is laughing all the way to the bank and probably will make a bid with the proceeds in the next election. She has my vote! Finally, someone with intelligence and backbone! Everyone should go back and read these comments. The “readers” who have written the truly disgusting a and hateful comments must be very self-hating individuals. To be able to spew such hatred for an individual that has done no harm to them reminds me of writings for many self loathing extremist groups that offer absolutely no hope and will only preach hate. “Pimp my retard” is so rude and disgusting. I hope that supporters of the Dem party would also call that out as very inappropriate. And speaking of photo ops, BO never missed any. Let’s see—she was the scheduled guest of honor at the Republican National Coalition for Life in Sept. 2008. She canceled. She was supposed to discuss energy policy at a National Governors Association in Feb. 2009. She canceled. She canceled an appearance before the Republican Women Federated of Simi Valley for their 50th anniversary celebration in August, 2009, backed out of the Values Voters summit the next month, and dropped out of a charity 5K race in Kennewick, Washington, and ended a book signing event early in Noblesville, Indiana in November. So, just what are the odds that the four college drop out, less than a year Alaska Oil and Gas Commission Chairwoman, former half term governor will actually show?

A Dem, Rep. Stupak, tried to put an amendment to not use federal funds for abortion. That was not included in the Senate bill and that provision is consistent with the Hyde amendment. Why did the Dem controlled Senate not include the Stupak amendment? Sarah Palin is here to stay and on the move. Her supporters are proud of her because she is sincere about her stances. Obamacare needs to be scrapped. Cutting $500 billion from Medicare takes away coverage for many seniors so the statement that if you like your healthcare, you can keep it, not so for millions of Medicare seniors. And we have yet to see the Obamacare deals on C-Span. But the biggest tale is that Obamacare will be revenue neutral and even reduce the debt when Obamacare will cover more people but still leaves out million more. This massive, expensive, and ineffective Obamacare is a political spin at its worse!

Only people I feel sorry for is her supporters, they are the ones stretching out her 15 minutes, and making her money. As for the standard lies from the GOP I see they are still in vogue, “Obamacare will use money from my paycheck for abortions”, in 1976, Congress passed the Hyde Amendment, which forbids federal funding for abortion, never get close to the truth it may hurt your mind. What is amazing is the “pro-choice” sheep that are fine with: killing at least 849,845 people killed in Afghanistan and Iraq since the U.S. and coalition attacks, nearly 45,000 people die in the United States each year — one every 12 minutes — in large part because they lack health insurance and can not get good care, letting babies suffocate and die in hot cars. Like the tar baby ‘they say nothing’.

What I think is so admirable about Sarah Palin is that she “walks the walk.” It would have been so easy for her to quietly have an abortion or arrange one for her daughter, but she does have a strong character. If you were paying attention at her debate with Joe Biden, she said she was tolerant of others with different views than she has. Actually, Sarah Palin is very open and genuine. And those qualities seem to missing in our current administration. BO and the Dem Congress are not transparent and work hard to spin their images. Look out, Sarah Palin and Hillary were close in polling where Oprah and Michelle were behind. That tells me that she has a great future.

I am not taking sides on this issue, but did want to point out that “pro-choice” is not necessarily “pro-abortion”. I think you will find a lot of people will think the same way. Also, all of our tax dollars (including pro-choice taxpayers) pay for the stepped up security that protects Mrs. Palin’s right to speak about whatever topic she wants to, even when she is just signing books.

Palin has not and did not force her beliefs on anybody. There is absolutely no truth or fact to any of these lies. WRG your statement, “By supporting the ‘right to life’ group, she’s supporting a group that wants to dictate how others live their lives.” Then by supporting the pro-abortion group you are supporing a group that wants to dictate how others live their lives. Actually by supporting the liberals you are doing exactly what you accuse Palin of. You are supporting the very people that want to dictate every aspect of our lives. They want to control how thermostats, what we eat, even our waist lines. You scream about your right to have an abortion, while you take my rights away. You feel you have a right to abortion yet support taking my rights away by putting me in government controlled health care.

Get Informed. Abortion kills a life. And for every 80 that die in India, I can find 8000 women in the USA that kill their babies because of convenience.

By mdizzie

January 9, 2010 12:04 AM | Link to this

In one month alone, over 80 women died in India because the law doesn’t allow for abortions, even for medical reasons. You are denying the potential mothers right-to-life by forcing her to continue through with the pregnancy, and perhaps losing her life in the process. It’s not any one persons place to tell another what they can do with their body. Abortion is not just for slum girls or hookers, its not fun or pretty and there are instances where the baby could very well kill the mother if the abortion was not preformed. Get Informed.

Like the dummy that continues to smoke cigarettes after a heart attack, or the very obese, lazy slug that refuses to stop gorging on fast food, even after open heart surgery? How about the woman that has multiple babies by multiple men, with no means of financial support? Giving KSM constitutional rights, and a civilian trial a few blocks from ground zero.(Unbelievable!) The push for cap and trade-wihch will result in a zap and fade economy. Saying that the Cambridge police acted “stupidly” before knowing the facts, yet says not to jump to conclusions about the terroristic attack on Ft. Hood. What?
