Kasich made the announcement on Twitter. He will make a formal announcement at a 3 p.m. press conference in Columbus.

Taylor would give Kasich, a former U.S. House member from suburban Columbus, a connection to vote-rich northeastern Ohio. Taylor is from Green, an Akron suburb.

While no date has been set, Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland also told his followers on Twitter to be watching for a lieutenant governor announcement. Current Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher is running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio.

LOL @ people like Greg. Governor Strickland is a tax and spender? He has not raised one tax since he was elected and has continued to cut spending to balance the budget. Remember the uproar over the closed mental health facility here in Dayton? It’s time you folks removed yourself from party talking points and look at records. This is what is wrong with America anymore

I have loved John since I worked on his short-lived Presidential campaign back in 96. He is a force to be reckoned with, and it was his committee in the House that balanced the budget the first time….he’s the answer to bailing Ohio out.

Hey meat head— I hope you are aware that you don’t get to vote for Pelosi since you don’t live in Calif. I get that you are following orders, but try to remember voting districts.

They have MY vote, Strickland MUST be voted out before Ohio is so broke they have to leave the USA and join a third world country. Nexy up to be rid of is Obama, Biden and Pelosi. Then be rid of Kelley on Monroe council, he only THINKS he something and he is simply a NOTHING.
