New governor poll: Kasich leads Strickland, 47-41 percent

Republican John Kasich leads Democrat Ted Strickland, 47-41 percent among likely voters in a new Rasmussen Reports poll for the governor’s race released on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

The results are similar to a January poll that showed Kasich, a former Columbus-area congressman, leading incumbent Strickland, 47-40 percent. Kasich led in a December poll, 48-39 percent.

The poll shows a gender gap, favorable to Kasich. Kasich leads among males by 23 points, while Strickland has a 10-point lead among female voters.

Voters not affiliated with the Democratic or Republican parties favor Kasich by 16 points.

The poll was taken Friday, Feb. 5-Saturday, Feb. 6 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

Governor Strickland is actually angry at Ohioans that stood up to a ridiculous use of taxpayer money for trains that go at a snail’s pace with terrible schedules. The Governor is actually mad that common sense says don’t spend $400 million on this waste of money! It just shows where Strickland’s head is in terms of wise choices. Ohio needs smarter leadership fast.

Also, Kasich is going to win by at least 5 points and I don’t even need any polling data to know that. Just my WAG, but I’d put money on it today.

Artist, you can say Rasmussen is bias, and you can put up some liberal website to try to back your claims, but it still does not change the fact that when it comes to election results Rasmussen is as good if not better than everyone else.

The Ras. Report showed 69% of Republicans felt Sarah Palin was helpful to John McCain’s Presidential bid? It also says 66% of Republicans think Sarah Palin is the best Republican candidate for President in 2012? Please tell me this is not right.

By PollingBias February 9, 2010 9:53 AM The Rasmussen Report has proven itself as a Republican biased poll for many years. Interpret results accordingly. ….. Your ignorance is astounding. Please do some research before mindlessly hitting keys on your board. Thanks in advance.

Hey PollingBias, why is it that Rasmussen is almost always dead on with its polling? Lets see, they were right about Obama, Christie, McDonnell, and Scott Brown, and they were extremly accurate with their polling. Wait and see, Rasmussen will be extremly accurate in this race also. They will probably be the closest of any polling organization.
