MoveOn.org ad rips Boehner; Boehner rips back

MoveOn.org has ripped into U.S. House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-West Chester, and Boehner, through spokesman Don Seymour, has ripped back.

MoveOn on Friday, Feb. 26, released a new ad, which it said would run in Ohio in Dayton’s district, that “thanks” Boehner for being the “Insurance Lobby Top Champion in Congress.”

The ad is expected to be up on Monday, March 1, and run for a week, MoveOn said.

Boehner spokesman Don Seymour responded in an e-mail:

“So this is what MoveOn does when it’s not insulting decorated generals?

“Boehner’s fighting for every Ohioan and American who wants Democrats to scrap their government takeover of health care and start over with better bipartisan solutions that will actually lower costs - something the partisan hacks at MoveOn clearly aren’t interested in.”

Release of the ad comes just a day after a White House summit on health care that showed Democrats and Republicans still far apart on a solution.

As usual, Leslie is showing her ignorance. the Democrats do not have a SUPERMAJORITY. They do have a majority, enough to pass healthcare reform by reconcilation. The Republicans have used this process at least 13 times since 1980. It’s past time for the Democrats to do right by the citizens, not corporations.

How are the Democrats supposed to “negotiate” with the GOP if they will only consider starting over? The Dems, especially Bachus, bent over backwards to accommodate the GOP. It doesn’t matter that the current bill includes all the things the GOP says they must have. The GOP does not negotiate in good faith. They only want to bring the government to a halt. Throw them out, starting with Boehner!

More Smoke and Mirrors. The republicans including John Boehner CANNOT stop anything. The democrats have a SUPERMAJORITY. This is all a game. Obama and his goons could have had their health care long ago cause the republicans CANNOT stop them. The democrats do NOT need republicans to pass anything. MoveOn is just helping to distract you from the truth. Republicans are NOT in the way cause the democrats do not need them. Pelosi even told the democrats not to discuss health care with the republicans. You people are being played.

By definition, MoveOn should be pro-Repub, because the Dems control the Presidency & both Houses of Congress - if you’re going to “move on” - it has to be to something else besides the party in power. Democrats have nobody to blame but themselves - they have met the enemy & the enemy is them. The Repubs will be the next on the hot seat; if they return to business as usual, they will be the next set of bums to get tossed out.

And MoveOn.org uses the buzz word monopoly while endorsing a government monopoly of the health care system. They have once again illustrated their Marxian ideology. But the egocentric entitlement crowd is too stupid to notice.

Pelosi is just as much at fault as Boehner. Two party politics is a broken system. The answer for the middle class lies somewhere in the middle, but unfortunately the two party system does not function for the middle class. Where are our best and brightest Independents? Maybe Bill Gates or Warren Buffett can foot the bill to get intelligent, free thinking Independents to seek office, with the new Supreme Court ruling on campaign financing.

SSBN is so lost like most of his cool-aid drinking friends. Why is Brunner and Pelosi advocating voting rights to felons? The prison population is 99.9% democrat. All the big name mass murderers have been Dem’s Dahmler, Gacey. Where do you get your facts? Comic books?

At the health care summit there was a sharp contrast of style, ideas and demeanor between the Democrats and Republicans. The major media gave only sparse coverage and deceptive analysis because the Democrats came across as petulant children while the Republicans were the reasoned, thoughtful, responsible adults. Barry O laid out a trap for the Republicans to brand them the party of “no”. The nuclear option would then seem proper. Ironically the Democrats became the party of “no respect”, “no common sense”,”no spirit of cooperation”and “no practical ideas”. I like watching the Democrats playing political musical chairs.

And the GOP also congregates with lowlifes; The evangelicals, FOX, neocons, C-street cult, PNAC, Carlyle Group. Let alone all the deviants and predators that are now former GOP members of congress.

Middle class Americans want nothing more than a choice. Boehner’s constituents are not the residents and small businesses of SW Ohio. They are BIG INSURANCE, BIG TOBACCO and SALLIE MAE. Boehner is doing his job when rates go up! Since Anthem just announced 39% increases, well done John! The corporate jet will be there soon to take you to Scotland to play golf.

Haven’t met anyone yet that wants Obama’s plan and in November Boehner will be joined by many more like minded folks in Congress and that will put a permanent end to this government takeover of the entire health industry. On the other hand, if a good quality candidate ran against Boehner in the primary, it would be worth a look - Boehner’s been there too long and has not been effective.

We haven’t had a Rep since Tony Hall he would fight for and help his people. Boehner was dumped on us and has never done a thing for us. Everytime I contacked him I got the runaround , it’s time for him to go. He’s in it to pad his pockets. So lets get someone better to replace hin next election.

To Jason and others - how was Boehner supposed to “negotiate” when Democrats refused to start over? If the jumping off point is nationalizing healthcare, there’s no discussion. Boehner already has a bill up on healthcare.gop.gov. It could be a real bipartisan starting point. Instead, Democrats rigged the summit and still got clowned by the GOP. And if Boehner is in the pocket of insurance companies, what does that say about all the Democrats who get insurance money too and want to force people into it?

Boehner and Bunning. 2 biggest embarassments in Congress. How much do you want to bet that Boehner either becomes a lobbiest for the insurance industry or gets a job with an insurance company when he gets voted out in the primary. What a buffoon.

It is hilarious how people would prefer a rich man who has been known to trash entire national economies for his personal benifit in the exchange market than someone we could at least vote out. I suggest you look up how Soros got rich and wonder why he would like to see the US dollar devalued by massive debt before buying in to anything he and his numerous front groups say. Heck, if you worry about political donations from corporations, Soros should have you scared under your bed with his scams and influence!!!

I’m afraid John is totally controlled by his corporate sponsors. He’s been in Washington far too long. He is far too partisan to be effective and needs to be replaced. I hope we can elect a more effective representative in the next election.

Is John Boehner perfect? No way. But, he sure is better than any alternative presented by the liberals. Take Sherrod “A$$ Clown” Brown for instance. Now there’s a champion buffoon, a real idiot if God ever made one. Hands down I’m with Boehner until morons like Sherrod Brown dissappear from our goverment.

The “decorated general” retort concerns the infamous “Gen Betray-us” ad the hacks at MoveOn published some months back. As for Boehner, he’s not my favorite, but anything he does to keep Obamacare from becoming law is a good thing for everyone.

Boehner is, without a doubt, the worst example of what a public servant should be. He is self serving and only interested in what the lobbyists desire: the lobbyists that bribe him! .

And the Dems took over Congress in 2006 and what have they accomplished so far—Gridlock—because they do nothing about discussing cost containment except to cut $500 billion from Medicare. Glad that Rep. Boehner is representing the people because one thing the Dems and BO have not done and that is explaining how to keep down health care costs, cut the deficit, and add millions more to the health insurance rolls without rationing health care. The GOP did a good job to point out the bad “bribes” that were going to certain states. At least the GOP got BO to finally air the differences in the plans on C-Span!

Even though I don’t live in Boehner’s district, he can’t speak for me because I do want some sort of health care reform. He is brought and paid for by the insurance companies. I would like to know from him and the rest of Republicans in Congress when are you to going work for us. I would like to tell Boehner and the delegation in Congress from Ohio put politics aside and work for us.

The ad was way too easy on him. This man is epitomizes the worst of politics. No one Congressman has ever done more wrong for Americans than Boehner. The higher our insurance premiums, the more money that goes to his PAC.

Really… What has Boehner done for his district or anyone but himself? Not for Healthcare, or putting people back to work. He is the leader of the NO party. Him and his fellow party members need to give something positive to cure the problems

By Jason Fisher

February 26, 2010 4:07 PM | Link to this

How did Boehner contribute at all toward developing a bipartisan solution during the bipartisan health care reform summit? When he wasn’t out smoking a cigarette, he was making the same year old mouthnoises rather than actually doing any real work for the American people.
