Kasich in Xenia on Strickland attack: “Pathetic”

Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland’s blasts at Republican John Kasich’s Wall Street connections drew a sharp response from Kasich on Thursday, May 13.

“I thought it was pathetic,” Kasich told reporters after speaking to a rally at the Shawnee Park Pavilion in Xenia.

Strickland and his allies “want to change the subject” from the state’s slumping economy, said Kasich.

Kasich, a former Columbus-area U.S. House member, didn’t mention Strickland’s attack during his 15-minute speech which focused on his plans to create jobs, cut taxes and streamline government.

“The situation in our state ….is we have to create an environment where we can create jobs,” said Kasich.

It was Kasich’s 58th birthday and the crowd of about 80 serenaded him with a chorus of “Happy Birthday.” He and his lieutenant governor running mate Mary Taylor are on the second day of a three-day, 13-county campaign bus trip through Republican-friendly territory. They were accompanied in Xenia by Kasich’s wife Karen and their twins, Emma and Reese, 10.

Strickland on Wednesday called Kasich “Wall Street to the core” and said he wouldn’t let Kasich dodge discussing Kasich’s nearly eight years as a managing director of Lehman Brothers, the investment firm whose 2008 bankruptcy has been blamed for the nation’s economic meltdown.

Lis Smith, Strickland’s campaign spokeswoman, said in an email that Kasich has spent a year criticizing Strickland without offering positive ideas for the future and that his “latest stunt reeks of desperation.”

“Ted is not going to give Ohio over to Wall Street values without a fight,” said Smith.

If we don’t remove all of the progressives from office, we’re in bigger trouble than we are now. I don’t even know if what Obama has done to our country is fixable. It might be too late. Strickland has continued to waste our taxpayer $ and now he’s pushing for a train we can’t afford to finish building and that will need continuous taxpayer support to run it. We must get rid of Strickland since he is part of the problem. We have watched as the inept progressives (there are no democrats left, they’ve been taken over by Marxists) mess up over and over (Holder’s inept moment yesterday where he couldn’t say radical Muslims were to blame for the last 3 terrorist attacks on America). Anyone is better than Strickland. Vote him out.

Strickland is a progressive. We now know that progressives have taken over the democrat party. We’ve seen the Marxist Obama administration takeover of banks/auto industry/student loans/hc/getting ready to take over energy/attacking our right to freedom of speech&press&media. We’ve seen how Fed Govt has not done its job on securing our borders and now they want to legalize all illegals so they can get their votes. We’ve seen Strickland’s corruption and his political motivation in standing behind Jennifer Brunner in refusing to investigate 200,000 frauduent voter registration claims. We can’t tolerate any more of it, or it is our fault for being naive in believing the forced redistribution of wealth will go to the poor in our country—we know it will go overseas to countries like China. Remember the stimulus $ how they were sent to China via 2,000 jobs? Where are the jobs for the millions unemployed here in America? Strickland is part of the problem. Remove him. Remove all commie trash from our gov’t.

So highlighting Kasich’s Wall Street background is “pathetic” but endorsing the NSRC’s Lee Fisher ad is okay? You disgust me Kasich. Dirty politics further shows that you’ve not left your Wall Street background behind you.

Kasich still has only released one year of his tax returns. What is he hiding? I am not thrilled with Strickland, but Kasich is not the solution. He is part of the problem!

I agree that trains are a waste of our taxpayer $. Kasich is right, and I support him. Strickland needs to go. He didn’t do his job while he was in office, and he’s a progressive. We need someone who will be more conservative with our taxpayer $, not someone who will waste our $ on trains we can’t afford. Progressives have been corrupt. We watched Strickland stand behind Jennifer Brunner when she refused to investigate 200,000 cases of voter registration fraud/voter fraud in Ohio. Brunner didn’t do her job for political reasons, and Strickland stood behind her in her corruption, so he’s corrupt, too. We need Kasich to help get us out of the mess Strickland put us in.

No one in their right mind should support the passenger trains. Jobs will be created to build it. Tax dollars will be used to support it because no one is going to take a 6 hr train ride to Cleveland when you can drive it in 3 1/2. Get a clue people!!!
