ukgirl: my feelings exactly! Most of the rest of you: free your minds, and while you’re at it, get a dictionary or at least use spell check.

This is my perspective. We need progressive (not regressive) tax laws, good jobs, labor laws, predatory lending regs, consumer protection, wall street/banking regs (enforced), environmental regs, and solid public resources/infrastructure. The Dems offer transparency, leadership, and a plan. The Repubs have a proven track record of profiteering at the expense of everyone/everything else, including a fake war with casualties/deaths and bankrupting the country, plus a record deficit.

What is my approach? Why do you bring McCain into the discussion? Obama believes if you make $250,000 you’re rich. That is the bar he set. The Dems go on about the evil rich people and corporations when in the end by Obama’s own standard they are the rich people.

I didn’t say he was poor, although he’s probably still not worth as much as McCain after marrying Cindy. The problem with your approach is that it makes no sense at all. Look at the real issues with their real effects on local economies.

It is to laugh. They sure aren’t poor are they? Why do you go back to 2007 instead of current? According to Obama if you make $250,000 a year you’re rich.

John McCain defined “wealthy” as being worth $5 mil. In 2007, Obama and his wife made $4,238,165 according to his 2007 tax returns. Have a nice day.

I am sure the columbus economy will benefit from having the Democratic Messiah appear, the closed streets, security etc. What a great plan. Obamallah should lose his landing rights and go home.

I think its funny how he has chosen an area when there are many events going on at the same time. Osu has the #1 football team, parents weekend, marathon, etc… He knows when to take advantage of a situation.

First of all, no one is paying that much in taxes right now. Secondly, “welfare” was reformed by Clinton. Unless you want to do away with it altogether, and either leave more people on the streets or institutionalized, it is not going anywhere. To break the cycle of poverty, you need good childcare and good education. Obviously, the parties have ideological differences about what makes the economy grow. Historically, the economy has grown when the middle class has good jobs, benefits, and disposable incomes, even with higher taxes (see 1950’s). The reason why this has become class warfare is that people refuse to discuss issues in a reasonable, intelligent manner. Simply put, we need to re-establish socio-economic standards that benefit everyone’s quality of life on a daily basis. The future is going to happen, and planning for it doesn’t make anyone a “socialist”. We have a lot of information at our disposal these days, but our opportunities are very different if we are not going to have an industrial economy. In addition, the conservatives have been so successful at lowering expectations that these comments reflect a willingness to repeal 100 years of labor laws, not to mention environmental/financial regs, so we can compete with China for sweat shop jobs.

oh, please. I went to OSU, and I wish I could attend Obama’s rally. OSU is a massive public place which constantly hosts massive events. The Republican party does absolutely nothing for state universities or college families. Ever wonder why that is? If you vote Republican, they will repeal every reform they can, including assistance for small businesses, which they historically have blocked by the way, and they continue to sit on their respective piles of cash. That is exactly why the economy isn’t moving.

This is also parents weekend at Ohio State. There will be thousands of family members on campus in addition to the students. What a colossal mess this will be with the blocked streets, traffic, and extra security! I really resent this man interfering with my time with my son. Trolling for votes, telling more lies to these young people. Obama is no leader.

Maybe they’ll bring Bill Clinton and Larry Flint back again too. Michelle can light a Cigar for all three….about all she’s qualified for. Everyone knows Obama was an empty shirt and now he’s desparately trying to rekiddle his hopey/dopey/change mantra for another loser Strickland. Next he will send the ACORN nuts and New Black Panthers to itimidate voters.

Same day as the Columbus full and 1/2 marathon. Hope this doesn’t mess that up. Around 15,000 people are running or walking, not including the support staff and volunteers.

I would trust my personal finances to Strickland before Kasich any day of the week. Strickland’s competent leadership is working, it’s just not a fireworks production. Kasich wants to shock and awe Ohio by drastically cutting every public service budget, including OSU. Ohio needs public sector employment AND competitive educational instituions right now. Oh, yeah, just don’t cut Kasich’s paycheck for doing jack**.

The only thing Obama is good at is running his trap. He’s a spoiled brat crybaby who has the sneaking sense that the dems are going to get blungeoned in a few weeks - so the fix is to get kids involved who have very little sense of what is really going on. That’s the dems - playing to the poor, stupid, and the non-informed.

Why does this jackarse have to defecate on the hallowed grounds of my alma mater? No matter what he proposes he is still lying through his purple gummed teeth. I hope that my fellow academics and past and present members of the body of OSU will totally boycott this mini megalomaniac whose only objective is to turn our nation into a socialist / parasitic country.

I made the mistake once of supporting Obama and the Democrats. I didn’t realize they want to change the face of our country. Obama wants to turn our separate, peaceful country over to the United Nations. Our rights to bear arms, our nuke weapons, he is messing with our privacy. I have no respect for the U.N. They should only remotely work together to keep down war! Obama his Ohio Lee Fisher and Coussoule want to keep this stinking healthcare bill and create more controlling bills. I want them to go away. I will never vote for them again!

Obama’s attempt to get out the votes and drum up votes are after a majority of us know what he, Pelosi, Reid, the czars, Acorn, Rahm Emanuel, Van Jones and Cass Sunstein really are. People who want to control us and our society. I want a free society with a small govt. Obama wants a socialist society that will micro-manage us down to our retirement plans and then help us die when his people think we are useless to society. Obama has a godless plan!

I wonder if Obama will have previous Acorn members helping with his get out the vote thing? They were active in the past in more ways than we will know assuring the vote went for the liberal candidate. Then Acorn slipped into using money to provide loans for pleasure houses! Good job, Obama. I don’t think many people trust you these days!

I hope that the students are smart enough not to buy into Obama’s promise to elevate the middle class. Any business student can plainly see that he is methodically bankrupting our country. When that happens the middle class will disappear. Wake up, America.

Its not at the Shoe (the football stadium), it’s at the Oval, which is an outdoor grassy area by the library. There will be a lot of people there as this speech will take place on a college campus.
