Businessman Greg McAfee to MC Dayton Tea Party rally

Greg McAfee, owner of McAfee Heating & Air Conditioning Co., will be master of ceremonies at the Dayton Tea Party’s “Remember November” rally on Thursday, Oct. 14, the Tea Party announced on Monday.

McAfee is a “successful business owner, motivational speaker and Tea Party favorite,” an e-mail from the Dayton Tea Party said.

The rally is set for 6:30 p.m. at Courthouse Square in Dayton. The keynote speaker is Herman Cain, the conservative radio talk show host.

Everyone has the right to believe what they want here i America. Communism fell from within - Reagan had very little to do with it. Much of my family died freeing their country from communism and dislike hearing Reagan helped when he did not. The Tea party needs to say they don’t support the Klu Klux Klan before I will even listen to them. Look at the last president south of Dayton… He was arested and was a proud member of the Klu Klux Klan. Most of the Tea party is only interested in helping themselves become rich and on the top of the backs of the poor, sick etc.

How many of you have a job from a poor person? For all of you bad mouthing corporations and the “wealthy,” who do you think provides the rest of us jobs so that taxes can be paid to provide you people your welfare checks? Seems for those of you that don’t know basic economics 101, you are biting the hand that feeds you. Unfortunately stupidity can’t be fixed.

How many of you that say you won’t support McAfee because of his TEA party affilitation support the car companies? Don’t the unions contributate and support the Democrats? Many of the comments posted are misinformation. Obama has spent more money than the adminstrations combined from George Washington thru Ronald Reagan.Obama is chipping away at our freedoms from healthcare to his push to try to enact tax and cap. Yet you people are worried because the supporters of TEA parties want to return to the constitiution, less government interferance, and lower taxes. Wise up and do your own research..quit dependending on the mainstream media for your facts because they are not being honest. Attend a TEA party or liberty group and educate yourselves. Your ignorance shines like a beacon on a hill.

Boy we sure have different memories of the day. The USSR was a powerful advasary, so much so that most of the left were advocating nuclear freezes, detente, etc - the ol’ can’t we just get along. Without Reagan’s increased military spending which caused the Russians to try and compete, something they could not do, there still might be a USSR. That horrible economic model brought about by Reagan established the longest period of economic prosperity this country has known. Prez Obama’s model tracks with FDRs which prolonged bad economic times while he tried to manipulate the economy with gvmt spending and progressive programs. Had it not been for the war, FDR’s economic model would most likely have failed as Henry Morgenthau, his secretary of Treasury and loyal friend admitted in 1939. The deficits of Reagan were nothing compared to what this Prez and Congress have run up. Corporations are the least of our problem for we are owned by foreign entities such as China based on the debt they own, a debt attributeable in part to Bush, but doubled down by President Obama.

Hey, I had to get under my desk for emergency drills when I was in the first grade — that was long before Reagan, and he did not win the cold war. He ran up a deficit with record spending, including star wars. The USSR was barely propped up when Reagan took office. Reagan made a lot of awful decisions, including extreme tax cuts that we could not afford. How were we successful when the money was all borrowed? Arguably, Reagan unleashed the horrendous corporate model we are still dealing with today. They don’t have to give anything back, and they don’t. They are so powerful, including owning the government, that they have you begging them for sweatshop conditions. Then they charge you what they want, so that deficit spending is the American way. Why should they care if you pay for groceries with your credit card and declare bankruptcy as long as they get maximum profit? Forget taxes. Americans have less income and more bills than ever before.

Why is it that all the liberals want to talk about is Punnishing the wealthy,I repeat what is 10% of $30,000.00 & of $3000,000.00? which is more. THE REAL PROBLEM IS AN OUT OF CONTROL GOVERNMENT, SPENDING WAY WAY BEYOND IT’S ABILITY. CAN WE AGREE ON THAT, AND START BY MAKING THEM CUT SPENDING, OUR PROBLEM IS NOT SUCCESFUL BUSINESS OWNERS… THAT IS A SMOKE SCREEN FROM MARXCISTS..READ KARL MARX’S COMMUNIST MANIFESTO AND SEE IF IT SOUND FAMILIAR, IT IS THE DEMOCRAT PLAY BOOK..

All I know is that I was around for Reagan and I’m around for Obama and the choice is pretty easy - Reagan for sure. Even in the early years of Reagan there was still a sense of hope that the economy would improve and it did, big time. There is no such hope with this Prez. Reagan spent in deficit to win a war, the cold war, and Clinton enjoyed the benefits of the peace dividend that created. This Pres spends to change this country into something it has never been and doesn’t want to be - one of managed freedom and gvmt intervention. Thats not hope but it is change. McAfee and many others do not want such a change and their support for the Tea Party reflects a great American tradition, a grass roots movement. The arguments have been made and even some policies put in place and if the polls are correct, the American people just aren’t buying it. Its not because it hasn’t been given a chance to work - it simply won’t work because it makes no sense.

Reagan & co. redistributed wealth — in the other direction. It’s called running up a deficit. The upper middle class pays the most income taxes and everyone who isn’t “wealthy” ($5 mil by McCain standards) pays more in regressive taxes like sales taxes, etc. Wealthy people are not creating jobs or circulating money into the local economy. If you don’t like healthcare reform, sign a separate waiver with your provider that they can charge you what they want, pay for what they want, and drop you when they want.

I have great respect for a person who has the courage to be upfront about his beliefs, even at the risk of offending some potential customers. All too often businesses and their owners are denied their opportunity to speak out against political factors that damage their long term interests through intimidation, whether real or perceived. Look forward to seeing Greg and Herman on Thursday.

My fond memory of a McAffee experience was when his repairman came and told me that he had to clean my AC coils, then he said that he had to replace refrigerant and add some die, then he told me that whatever leak they might find would probably cost $800-1500 more on top of the nearly $800 charged that day. Then he told me that my 13 year old AC usually do not last even 15 years. A friend had similar service from another company for $475. Why did he not advise me to get a new AC when I asked about it when he first arrived? Is that good business practice? I hope he is not representative of Tea Party businessmen.

Never understood how Democrats can bash those who “create jobs”, except that maybe its utter ignorance and jealousy. One thing for sure, this is not the same Democratic Party our parents voted for. My parents were die-hard Democrats but they would NEVER, EVER vote for anyone selling “redistributing the wealth” or for anyone who came up with “ObamaCare” this agenda will only set us back 40 years or more.

Democrats are now equal to Marxists, and the comments on this post put that into words very starkly. Freedom of Speech, and indeed the Constitutional Republic of the United States itself, will disappear with Marxists who masquerade as Democrats in charge, whether it is in DC or locally or anywhere in-between. If people want that, then by all means support The Left. As for me, I prefer restoring the Constitution to leaving behind a Marxist “Worker’s Paradise” for my children and grandchildren.

JP - as far as Dayton goes, voting history is skewed heavily Democratic. That has more to do with Dayton’s problems then a few comments on a DDN website. Look up the most poverty riden cities in the USA then look up the party of their mayor’s for the last 5 decades. Mostly Democrats, and I’m not talking by a few years, I’m talking significantly more time in charge, yet these “liberal run” cities are still in the crapper. Why do you think that is?

You poor people in Dayton. You actually believe that Tea Bagger garbage? I get so sick and tired of this “liberal agenda” garbage. The only “agenda” is to deliver this country eventually out of the mess that you holier-than-thou, ignorant, Fox-watching, GOP-used, “angry” (but over what, exactly), class-dividing, education-challenged right wingers have made. “Regime”…. you mean the one that Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, Glen BecK, John Boehner and the like are praying they can achieve by lies, distortions, and fear mongering/ No wonder Dayton is a lost cause.

Now this is starting to scare me. The majority of posts here are actually making valid arguments, mostly that the left only want free speech and equality if it means that free speech comes from the left. I truly hope the dems keep choosing vendors and employers based on their political, racial or religious beliefs and backgrounds and see how far it gets them. America is waking up, I truly pray it is in time.

Yes, some of us were angry about Bush’s overspending. Among other things, I thought the prescription drug bill was way too expensive. Even so, Obama’s spending makes Bush look like a cheapskate. Back to the story at hand, do you check businesses political views before spending you money with them? (Or is their silence good enough.) Fine, that’s your right, but how far will you go? Would you quit your job if you found out the owner has political views you did not agree with? If not, you are a hypocrite.

It’s great to know the company I can call for a new furnace or AC unit. or for maintenance. — - - - An honest businessman who cares about the future of this country. ———- Maybe William will post a list of all the Democrat party supporting businesses who support the regime’s agenda to socialize this country: obamacare increasing our insurance costs already! carbon tax cap and TAX on energy for global heating that’s not even a viable theory. cardcheck for forcing more employees into the labor unions to vote democrat—they won’t even get a secret vote. more pork spending from the Pelosi and Reid kid-in-a-candy-store spending for pork projects instead of spending with a laser like focus on only projects that made JOBS in 2009—they put off spending until 2010 thinking the recession would have cured itself and they could take credit and still spend and waste all this money. 92000 checks for stimulus went to dead people? all cashed probably.———- YEAH, william, let us know who supports the radical DEMOCRAT AGENDA so we can avoid patronizing them. ——- We allow obama and the regime to put the truck in “D” for democrat and all they did was load up the bed with cash for themselves and their friends and drive it off the cliff losing all the money on the side of the mountain. —— - - Put the truck in “R” Republican to “R”everse the damage they have done to our economy with their socialism.
