Final major Obama rally set for noon on Halloween in Cleveland

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will hold their final major rally at noon Sunday, Oct. 31 - Halloween - in Cleveland, just two days before the Nov. 2 election, the Democratic National Committee announced

The Halloween rally to get out the votes for Democrats will be at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University, 2000 Prospect Ave, Cleveland. Gov. Ted Strickland and other Ohio Democrats are expected to attend.

The rally is free and open to the public but those wishing to attend should RSVP by clicking here.

After the Cleveland rally, Biden will go to Toledo to headline a rally for Strickland in the late afternoon or early evening, said Lis Smith. Strickland campaign spokeswoman.

In Cleveland, Obama “will lay out the stakes for Ohioans and the choice for voters this November: whether to support Democratic leaders and continue to make progress for American families and small businesses or to return to the failed, Bush-era policies that nearly drove the nation into a second Great Depression,” a press release said.

The Cleveland rally is expected to be the tenth in a series of “Moving America Forward” events with Obama.

Boehner gets that special red, white and blue look

Remember the ubiquitous poster of then-candidate Barack Obama tinted red, white and blue during his successful presidential campaign in 2008?

Of course you do.

Politico.com reports that tomorrow’s Newsweek’s cover gives a similar treatment to a photo of House Minority Leader John Boehner for a story called “Change Is Coming….Again”.

Boehner, R-West Chester Twp., would likely become the new House Speaker if voters on Nov. 2 give Republicans control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

And in what could be the first use of marijuana in a picture with Boehner, the cover also includes a picture of a pot leaf over the “N” in Newsweek illustrating a story on “Conservatives and the New Politics of Pot.”
