Rasmussen Reports: Kasich, 48 %, Strickland, 44 %

Republican challenger John Kasich holds a small lead among likely voters, 48 percent to 44 percent, over Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland in a Rasmussen Reports poll released Thursday.

In the poll, 3 percent favor another candidate and 4 percent are undecided.

Rasmussen Reports considers the race a toss-up. Two weeks ago, Kasich led 48 percent to 45 percent.

Kasich’s support has been between 47 percent and 50 percent for six straight surveys.

The survey of 750 likely voters was taken Tuesday and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.

We wouldn’t be in this mess if it wasn’t for the Democrats, Progressives, Socialists, or whatever they are calling themselves now. They’ve had control since 2006 and complete control since President Obama became President, yet they still manage to blame Bush and the Republicans for everything even though mostly everything that’s been done has been without any Republican participation. Fannie and Freddie—it’s on record that Bush tried repeatedly to attack the problem but was kept from doing anything because of the Democrats (or socialists/progressives). To blame Boehner is ridiculous, just like it is ridiculous to blame Bush for everything these past 4 years. That is why the taxpayers are so mad and thus, the swing towards voting for Republicans this next election. We’ve watched this administration abuse our citizens by suing our states for trying to defend themselves against the criminals coming from Mexico. We’ve watched them raise taxes and go on vacation without passing the Bush Tax Cuts. Businesses are flat out not hiring and in some cases laying people off because of Obama’s job killing bills. And every Democrat is suspect because they stood behind Obama and allowed him to pass his agenda against the will of the American people. I read where one businessman said he was closing up shop. He was letting go 162 people. He could no longer stay in business under Obama’s HOPE AND CHANGE! Inside America Mexican drug cartel murderers beheaded a man—inside our own country! Here’s how you can thank Obama for his treason and acts of aggression against Americans: vote for the Republican ticket. …Unless you are okay with illegal aliens terrorizing Americans inside our own borders, that is.

How can any body vote for a person who has but this country in the poor house. Sent your jobs over seas.Get in the pockets of Wall Street.Tell you what you want to here.Just to get your vote.Thats why Ohio has no jos.Thats why ohio unemployment is so high. And you think John Beohner has Ohioans best interest at heart.I have never seen so many people that could believe the same crap this guy talk.Stay in the poor house Ohio live under rule of thumb.Let one person controll your life by the way they vote in congress. (Newser) – John Boehner typically gets a healthy dose of campaign cash from Wall Street and blue-chip corporations, and this election season, he’s doling it out to tea party-backed hopefuls. The House Minority Leader has distributed $320,000 to 39 such candidates, suggesting a GOP “stamp of approval” for a batch of “insurgents” this year, writes Jeffrey Smith for the Washington Post. Boehner, who the Post notes made some of the donations before the candidates got the GOP’s endorsement, may be networking in an effort to become the next Speaker of the House. But this support doesn’t always neatly gel with the stated views of some of the candidates, who have slammed Washington insiders, lobbyists, and Wall Street—the latter of which has donated some $2.9 million to Boehner, the most of any House member. To wit, one candidate, who accepted $14,000 from Boehner, accused his Democratic opponent of backing “taxpayer-funded bonuses given to failed Wall Street executives

Here the thing, folks. The Democratic party has been eaten by socialists, or progressives, whatever they are calling themselves now. They want us to live under the same type of government that China has. Is that what you want? If it isn’t, then you will need to vote for people who aren’t Democrats, because they all stood behind Obama and voted in hc entitlement that the majority of Americans DO NOT WANT. This hc bill is already responsible for higher hc premiums and is killing jobs because employers can’t afford the extra penalty fees, or taxes, or whatever they are calling those. These “Democrats” are getting ready to pass an energy bill that will put the final nail in our economy’s coffin, and they have many more socialist plans for all of us. (For example)we watch Americans being terrorized by illegal aliens while our own president is siding with Mexican President against AZ being able to defend herself against these murderers. If you don’t respect our Constitution, you shouldn’t be the President of this country. That’s why I don’t respect Obama. I believe he is a traitor and has committed treason. Strickland is Obama’s twin. Kasich is our only hope to get off of this road of destruction.

Businesses and entrepeneurs create real jobs. It doesn’t make sense to vote for a party that bashes and demonizes business— and then expect to get Jobs. If you want jobs in Ohio, you have to vote for the party that appreciates and understands the challenges businesses face.

So if I sell bottled water in a disaster area for $10 a bottle, and pay 15% in income taxes (less costs and my car, “business expenses”, etc.) I am just a clever business person? Have you ever heard of the BP oil spill? That’s just to name one example of an immoral company, with the government in their pocket, exploiting OUR natural resources and selling it back to us, paying very little in income taxes, and ruining the planet we need to live on? YOU are too lazy to pay attention to what anyone else is doing, whether it’s government or industry. Unions received money from the bailout because they had an employment contract, and they are entitled to bargain for fair compensation/conditions in a free market. You don’t like unions? Don’t worry, everything you buy is made in China. Maybe you like their style. Whenever evil happens it is for money/power. What goes around, comes around.

I have several friends that know and followed kasich and portman very closely. The cincinnati voters are very disappointed in Portman they call him a sly idiot. And it does not surprise me but people have fell into a trap beleiving these fake politicans and the no agenda’s. I realize people are afraid running in fear, frustrated from TV ads and think these guys are going to suddenly make magic happen but the magic will not be what you think. Call it whatever, Both these guys are not for the working class in ohio and it is a fact if you have followed them from day one they are out for a few and special interests aka Tea Party(Rep). I could care less on this election because there are no true Republicans running that really want to do what is right for eqaulity and this country. If Ohio voters do not think and get correct information before they vote they will be responsible for Ohio’s outcome and this countries downfall.

I pay way more in taxes than big business have ever taken from me. Name one job the government has created that didn’t lose money. Seriously name one. The telecom companies, computer industries, service industries, banks, auto, ect have all employed workers and besides the unions have not cost the tax payer one dime. Only a fool would trust governments. Governments have murdered more people than any other entity in history. Look at China, Cuba and Russia. Alone they have literally murdered hundreds of millions people. You can take the power from business by not buying their products but you give the power to government and they take away your libery and freedom. Fact, most of the bailouts went to unions not big business. Name one business that haas stolen money from a tax payer. Just because a business doesn’t pay taxes doesn’t mean its stealing its call keeping their OWN money. Liberals call people keeping their onw money as stealing which is communist. Getover it is actually ignorant, uneducated or stupid.

Would you people read the news once in a while. Do you realize that big business’s money comes from YOU the consumer. You are like a bunch of chickens in very small cages to them. They are now sitting on all of the cash they stole from you over the last decade, not creating any new jobs (here) or spending money in local economies. It’s not a conspiracy theory, it’s a reality that will continue until YOU learn to raise standards or go completely broke. “They” will not look back.

I’d rather have big business than big government. I have never had a big business force me to do anything I didn’t want to do unlike big government. Its the liberals that bailed outed out big business like Goldman Sachs, Fannie and freddie, GM, and many more. Remember these hugh debts in the form of government bonds will be due in 20-25 years andn that is when we start paying off the debt of big government (Obama & Bush). Most of you do not pay taxes now but will be responsible to pay back all this debt. Do you all realize the money government spends is through tax revenue it takes from the middleclass?

Rasmussen is a Republican polling firm, but that is irrelevent, as it is consistent with all the other polls we have seen on this race. When the frontrunner is polling under 50% and only 4 points ahead it is anybody’s race. I havent seen the data behind the poll, but my guess is that 4 points is within the margin of error. There are still undecideds out there. Be prepared to have your door knocked down this weekend to get you out to vote. I think I will get out of town for the weekend as I have already voted.

Uncle JJ, they probably cite the raw numbers because they show a statistical dead heat, but they want a headline that raises our blood pressures (either happy or angry). The 4% “lead” is the same as the sampling error. Edward R. Murrow would never tolerate this sort of journalism.

It’s crazy how when Strickland is closer than the last poll, there’s always some headline about Strickland slashing Kasich’s lead. But when the lead gets bigger for Kasich, you just cite the raw numbers. Why is that ??
