Husted to leave Chamber job

Ohio Secretary of State-elect Jon Husted said he will resign his part-time job with the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce by the end of the year.

“As much as I love the chamber and have been grateful for the opportunity to work with them in all the various economic development, workforce issues, education issues, I will soon be resigning that position,” said Husted, a Republican state senator from Kettering.

He also is vacating his 6th District Senate seat after being elected in November to the four-year term as secretary of state. Senate Republicans will name his replacement.

Husted has served for about two years as director of workforce education and employer services for the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Education and Public Improvement Foundation, said Phil Parker, president and chief executive of the chamber.

The chamber plans to replace Husted, Parker said.

“We’ve enjoyed his work here,” said Parker, adding that he wishes Husted the best of luck.

@who is laughing now? Most likely you are right. Cant disagree with you there. Another governor who is a liar, cheat, above the law. Why break the string. Ohio citizens are great at electing the best of the worst.

ha… well, he’s Secretary of State now, so you won’t hve to worry about his residence. A few years and you can call him “Governor”.

Good riddance to bag garbage. Hope he has trouble selling his “residence” here as well.

Why was he in that position in the first place? He should have belonged to the Columbus CC since he was a resident there. As for his replacement, I heard applications are being taken from all over the state since residency in the district is not an issue.
