Speaker of the House Boehner responds to State of the Union address

Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-West Chester Twp., released the following statement after the President’s delivery of his State of the Union Address:

“We were honored to receive President Obama in the people’s House tonight for his State of the Union address. I appreciate the fact that the president recognizes the need to reach out and work together whenever possible.

“As I’ve stated in the past, when the president is willing to work with us on the people’s priorities, we’ll be ready to work with him. Unfortunately, even as he talked about the need for fiscal discipline, President Obama called for more ‘stimulus’ spending without making a commitment to the cuts and reforms the American people are demanding.

Adding to our debt and pushing us closer to bankruptcy for the sake of more ‘stimulus’ spending will not make our nation more competitive. A partial freeze is inadequate at a time when we’re borrowing 41 cents of every dollar we spend, and the Administration is begging for another increase in the debt limit.

Rather than lock in the job-crushing spending binge of the last two years, we are working to carry out our pledge to cut spending to pre-‘stimulus,’ pre-bailout levels and impose real spending caps. The people sent us here to focus on creating jobs and cutting spending, and that’s exactly what we intend to do.

“In the Republican Address, Paul Ryan did an excellent job of defining the size and scope of our fiscal challenges. It was exactly the kind of straightforwardness the people are expecting from us right now.

He offered the American people a positive vision of how a smaller, less costly, and more accountable government can promote private sector job creation and lasting prosperity.”

Repealing healthcare bill is what the voters want and some members of Congress and Senate got it and some of them didn’t. Repealing hc is about getting rid of waste, getting rid of a bill that is unconstitutional, getting rid of a bill that adds to our deficit and will continue to add to our deficit until our economy fails. Repealing the hc bill is about getting rid of socialism, redistribution of wealth, forcing tax payers to pay for abortions, death panels who will decide lack of care for the youngest and oldest citizens in case of shortfall of money. We can’t trust our gov’t to run social security without them robbing the lock box, we can’t trust our gov’t to keep private records sealed when they have access via government records, and we can’t trust our gov’t to provide the necessary security and sanctity of “For Official Use Only” and “Privacy Act Data” out of the public eye. The big elephant in the room when you are talking about the deficit IS THE HEALTH CARE BILL!

In 2010 John Boehner took over $240,000 from insurance lobbyist. Repealing health care reform is all about how much he can get from the insurance lobbyists in 2011. He wants to do the peoples work,if the people you are talking about are insuance lobbyists. HR676

That sounds fair (not!)…I’m sure that publishing all over all of the news stations that his real name was (bleep) and he owed child support and back taxes (before he said he even got a bill from the gov’t!) had no ill effects on his life, his ability to deal with customers, etc. What a bunch of crap. I’m sure politics had NOTHING to do with the just judge’s decision (NOT!!!). Wow. This is the same system we are supposed to trust to be fair and balanced. And now we have to deal with this untrustworthy person having access to our private personal information and the ability to abuse her position of authority all over again…nice! Can our Ohio Attorney General do anything about this? I believe she’s located in our state. Don’t we have a new Attorney General in Ohio?

More about Judge Marbley. In 2006 he ruled in FAVOR of ACORN, ACLU, and other “voting rights” organizations in a Law Suit vs The State of Ohio. The Ohio Law required voters to produce documentation proving their U.S. citizenship. Judge Marbley ruled the Ohio Law didn’t comply with the “National Voter Registration Act.” Obviously he was wrong as we witnessed the corruption of ACORN in Cleveland and subsequent laws broken by that organization in the years after Marbley’s ruling. Maybe he was wrong in Joe the Plumber’s case too…Hopefully Joe’s attorney is working on a new suit…in a different court.

Joe did sue Jones-Kelley. The U.S. district court, in Columbus, threw the case out this past August. U.S. District Judge Algenon L. Marbley dismissed the suit, saying that Mr. Wurzelbacher did not prove sufficient harm resulting from the incident. FYI…Marbley was recommended by Senator John Glenn (D) and appointed to that position in 1997 by President Clinton.

How does someone like that get a government job with a huge salary? Shouldn’t she be in jail? I know when I worked for the government that I was given paperwork that told me it was illegal to release for official use only information and about the penalties and possibility of prison. Why is she being rehired by our government? How does that happen? AG Holder refuses to prosecute people of color, so maybe that’s why… If I did something like that I would be in prison, and no way would I be making a huge salary and still working for the government. I’m just sayin’…why is she allowed to do that and get away with it? Should Joe sue her? Maybe he already did…anyone know?

In addition to Helen Jones-Kelley spying on people the IG investigation found that she used state property (compters, email, state email accounts, faxes, etc.) to campaign for Presidential candidate Obama and supplied his campaign with a list of possible contributors. Sanity, Strickland never fired her. She resigned from her position saying she didn’t want to be a distraction to the Governor.

I was being sarcastic when I called us “stupid”—Obama talks down to us like we aren’t smart enough to understand him. What’s really going on is we disagree with him. He thinks if he explains it is the most simple terms that we will eventually agree with him. I don’t think Obama is very intelligent, imo. If he were, he would have listened to the voters who want him to cut spending, not increase it. He’s not changed his agenda at all. I question his motives because he is still pushing the trains, his unconstitutional hc bill which should never been allowed to stand, his green energy spending spree, all of the wasted tax dollars spent given to community organizations and communist organizations, his AG Holder’s stand on reverse discrimination and not punishing the Black Panthers who harrassed voters outside a Philadephia PA voting booth last prez election (caught on video!!), the building of the Islam Mosque at Ground Zero, attempting to bring the terrorists back to NY to try them, Obama bowing to foreign leaders and apologizing for America, his attempts to make America a second rate country and killing our defense. There’s really too much to list here. The monetizing of our debt and resulting devaluing of our dollar, moratorium on oil drilling for US but allowing foreign countries to drill in those same waters, the attack by this administration on the coal industry. My fingers are getting tired. But this whole mess is Obama’s fault!

If you can call me a “rodent”, then I can call you a “socialist” especially since you sound like one. She should not be allowed access to government records nor personal information since she released personal information to the media for the explicit purpose of ruining a reputation of someone who opposed her messiah Obama. What she did was worthy of prison, not another government job with a huge salary. And as long as Obamacare includes provisions for abortions, death panels, and mandatory insurance (which none of it is Constitutional), and the PREZ wasn’t able to keep his promise which was repeated (I don’t know) maybe 20 godzillion times that we could keep our same doctor under his new HC bill—which of course we all now know is a freaking lie, I don’t believe the obamacare will stand. Of course, Pres Obama could veto whatever repeals of the bill are passed by the Senate and Congress, but believe me: the voters won’t vote him back in ESPECIALLY if he does that. The voters want him to cut back on spending, and the hc bill is not a very good start on that. It isn’t missed by us stupid people that Obama’s message hasn’t changed at all. It’s the same message using some different language. but he’s using the same talking points: Investment in green energy, education, infrastructure, trains, etc. Obama didn’t hear the voters last election. I guess it will take another election for him to finally get the message that we mean business.

Squirrelley, are you not aware that a squirrel is a rodent? You gave yourself that name, not me. Nobody, including me, disagrees that what Ms. Jones-Kelley did was wrong. But what she did is not deserving of further over-burdening our already over-burdened penal system. The punishment should fit the crime. She lost her job. As far as I know, she has been without work since the incident occurred. I don’t know the woman. You are the one who is obviously flustered and making wild statements. You really don’t know what a socialist is, but I am an Independant. You need to use Obamacare to get some help.

No, I don’t think she should be able to work for our government again, and no, I don’t think she should have access to files that contain citizens’ personal information because SHE ABUSED IT BEFORE AND WHO IS TO SAY SHE WON’T DO IT AGAIN?? And do you call me names because you are feeling flustered, perhaps put off by the question? Maybe that reveals to the readers here something about you. You feel you are on the losing end, you don’t like your socialist friends being harrassed when they are performing criminal activity in support of your democrat party, etc. She should be in jail, if you ask me. What she did was not okay. If we can’t trust government workers to obey the law and not use government records for their own private use to further a particular party, then how are we going to trust them when they have EVERYONE’S MEDICAL RECORDS DUE TO THE HEALTHCARE BILL THAT OBAMA SCREWED US WITH???

Chill put rodentbrain! The “they” who hired Helen Jones-Kelley are the Montgomery Co. Drug, Alcohol, and Mental Health Board. Yes, she might have some access to your treatment records, but your clever alias disguises your identity, though I’m sure your mental health problems have been noticed by many who’ve met you. Do you think she should never be allowed to have a job again? With her experience and education, she is well qualified for the job. You need to worry about your own issues.

You know that lady that worked in Jobs & Family Services who used government records to look up “Joe the Plumber” and then released his private information to the media? Well they hired her back. Isn’t that nice? She’ll be making $145,000/year and she’ll have access to public records again. Isn’t that grand? That’s how Obama’s imps are rewarded for criminal activity that supports the democrat party. Is there anybody that can do something about this? I would blog this under that article, but of course DDN doesn’t provide one…

No matter how Obama says it, it is the same agenda he has persued since his first day in the WH. He hasn’t changed, he wants to spend more money we don’t have. He hasn’t heard the voters, and he thinks we are too stupid to notice. Instead of doing their jobs, this administration is attempting to tear down our Republic. Heck, Obama doesn’t even call us a Republic, he calls us a Democracy, and we aren’t a Democracy, we are a Republic! Voters need to show up next time and let Obama and his socialist cohorts that we mean what we said last election! BTW, the hc bill was just another tactic to bring our country under socialism, along with Obama’s attack on the coal industry, moratorium on oil drilling for US only (not for foreign countries in the SAME WATERS), his takeover of the banking system, the auto industry, the student loans, and his continued attempts to fund green energy, and the trains that is not self sufficient and always calls for more tax dollars for sustinance. And Mrs. Obama, please stay out of our private business. We know what we want to eat, and we don’t need your help nor your husband to add regulations to show me what I’m allowed to eat or feed my kids. Thank you very much!

we didn’t need anyone but BHO himself. on one side he said he is going to cut government spending. that is a good thing. on the other side he is going to “invest” in every goofy liberal agenda item there is. “invest”=”spend tax dollars like there is no tomorrow” parts of his speech were just warmed over left overs from the freaking Carter years. we need to get rid of BHO the next time he is up for election, and all of his buddies also. President Obama, “freezing” existing over-spending is not a solution. We need to Reduce spending Significantly, and then freeze it. And Obama made a joke out of ObamaCare last night, which I found rude. The Chief Actuary for Medicare testified today and said ObamaCare “probably will NOT hold down healthcare costs” (which most of us already knew)

Steelyeyedmetalman- You rant like you are mentally ill. The democrats take more money from corporate america than the republicans as witnessed in the last election. At least corp america isn’t asking me for handouts by taxing me to death. I don’t trash people who work for the goevernment I trash the government for making slaves of the government workers. My wife is a teacher and I still am against teachers or anyone else for that matter being able to retire before they are 66 years old. I am against ANY able body person taking a government handout. I think its greedy and a sin to take money from hardworking people and giving it to people who do not work or people who have made really stupid decisions in their lives. I am sick of people making excuses about they had a hard up bringing. My grand parents had nothing when they came to this country and never took a dime from the government. They also never cried in their soup about how hard their lives were. Life is hard no matter what your background but with hard work we can all make it on our own.

We need the EPA and Dept of Ed to curb the states excesses of prejudice and corruption. The anti-Semitic Texas legislature is trying to force out a Jewish leader so they can have a “Christian” voting body. With states rights in education, we would have our children in some areas only receiving religious creation instruction instead of science. Without the EPA, there would be much more groundwater polluted due to fracking and the BP spill would be a minor blip in an ecological disaster. My daughter cannot get insurance due to a pre-existing condition and she is dying. Her death is on your lousy republican souls.

We need the EPA and the Dept of Ed to rein in the excesses of the states and to ensure that prejudice and small minds at the state level do not poison the country. Otherwise, in Texas, where the anti-Semitic legislature is trying to force out a Jewish leader, you would have all creationism taught in the schools with no science. Without the EPA, the BP spill would be a minor blip in an ecological disaster area. My daughter is dying because she lost her job/benefits due to her illness and her pre-existing condition will not let us get insurance for her. This death is on all of your republican souls…

Yes ,the time has come to cut to the bone. I’m tired of giving schools money that turn out students that can’t read, cities cutting police and fire to scare citizens. We need to cut the dead weight from schools, allow competition, and cut the corruption from groups like the SCLC and others.

I am still angry at all of those politicians that are talking about cutting Social Security and Medicare. I, like many others, have worked all my life and paid into FICA as part of my taxes with the promise that when I retired there would still be a living income. It was Congress that voted to move our money to the General Fund and called it surplus so that they could spend more. This was stupid and short sighted. Even before this recession they have said that SSA was running out of money and could not survive. All of the people on Social Security have had their income frozen for the past two years, but Congress has continued to vote themselves raises, pensions and benefits. The only way to fix this problem is to put Congress on the same plan as the rest of us and see how fast they come up with a viable fix to the problem.

I didn’t bother to listen, since, as one poster noted, we need the concrete proposals. However, I do agree we should do away with the present EPA and Department of Education. All we need is a very small department in each case. Education is a state responsibility, and the federal government should NEVER have gotten into it. There are EPAs in every state, and we don’t need a super-EPA in Washington.

To me it sounded like a campaign speech and not a state of the union address. No substance but a lot of platitudes. Obama is taking the tax payers money and squandering it. He has said many of these things before and followed thru on none. When I hear the word transparency come out of his mouth I want to cringe. I only can hope the Republicans will stand up to this president every step of the way…and stop this insanity.

You’ve never been in a Communist country (heck, nobody has.. despite the titles, there has never been a true Communist state. They’ve bee closer to fascist regimes than communist), so have no idea what it would be like. Even if it did appear to be a communist country, that’s not how it functionally operates. You live in an oligarchy. It’s been that way for a while now, and this President has done nothing to change that.

Mike R has some good points, but I differ in a few ways. We do need the EPA so companies can no longer poison the air, which is a cause of illnesses, which in turn costs us more in medical costs. However, we need the ridiculous legislation in it abolished. We need the Dept of Education - but we need to get rid of the teacher’s unions which make it impossible to get rid of the bad teachers. Our ranking in the world proves the unions are dragging our education down. And I think we should expand Amtrak. If we made it more accessible, and less costly to ride, more people would use it instead of driving. I know I would as my children live on opposite sides of the country and I live in the middle. I believe there should be a revamping of ALL the agencies as some policies do not make sense and are in conflict with each other. People scream for cutting Medicare and subsidized housing. Most people do not know that when the elderly in subsidized housing received the COLA increase 2 years ago, out of the average $25 increase, their rent went up $22, their food stamps were decreased by $2 - so they ended up with a $1 increase tospend on groceries that had increased by 50% due to the gas prices. Did you also know that if someone in subsidized housing works, their rent is increased increased in accordance with their pay and they lose food stamp benefits. However, since they also lose the Medicaid assistance which covers the 20% Medicare co-pay, most are forced to quit working at all just to get the medical benefits greatly needed. Oh - and if you are in a subsidized housing run by the USDA, and you have a complaint with your landlord … too bad - cause if you have a problem and need mediation, YOU pay for it! That’s right! You are poor enough to qualify for subsidized housing yet you are the one forced to pay for mediation. Guess that is their way of cutting down on complaints, eh?! Let’s face it, there should be no attorneys in Congress. We were supposed to have separation of the branches. Therefore, the attorneys were to be in the Judicial Branch, NOT the Legislative Branch!
