American Workers Continue to Pick up Jobs Left Vacant by Immigration Raids A new report in USA Today finds that unemployed U.S. citizens continue to fill up jobs left vacant by immigration raids, particularly at meatpacking and poultry plants. The reports says that plants impacted by the raids were back up and running at full capacity within months of the raids. Vanderbilt University professor Carol Swain said the raids were beneficial to the American workforce. “Whenever there’s an immigration raid, you find white, black and legal immigrant labor lining up to do those jobs that Americans will supposedly not do,” Prof. Swain said in the USA Today article. The USA Today report cites a study conducted by Steven Camarota at the Center for Immigration Studies that found Americans holding the majority of positions in fields that many claim are dominated by illegal aliens. As for Della, I don’t know where you have been, but if you have been watching the news you will find that they have found actual evidence that terrorists are using the southern borders to sneak into our country. I watched a rancher being interviewed who said while he was riding a horse, he saw a group of approximately 125 illegal aliens on his land who ran and hid when they saw him. He said thousands of illegal aliens use his land to sneak into our country, and nothing is being done about it. Just recently in the news it was revealed that illegal aliens actually VOTED last election. Just because we don’t want illegal aliens crossing our borders and stealing our benefits doesn’t mean we hate them. It means it is illegal. Illegal is illegal, and they don’t belong here. Our laws are not being enforced, and AG Holder and Homeland Security are intentionally ignoring American citizens who are crying out for the Federal Government to do its job. It refuses, and the Obama administration continues to change and manipulate our laws to fit his political agenda. In case you don’t know what that is, it is an agenda where Obama hates America, and is intentionally funneling our tax dollars out of our country. He sent billions of dollars to Brazil for oil drilling there, but he refuses to allow us to drill here. It’s a fact that his regulatory czar, Cass Sustein, is intentionally sabotaging our economy by overregulating and manipulating our laws. AG Holder refuses to prosecute people of color, and calls Americans racists! Homeland Security is not present and isn’t investigating any claims of Union Leader Lerner who exposed on tape unions plans to sabotage our economy by causing banks and stockmarket to fail. Piven spoke at the same meeting in NY, and she (of Cloward and Piven) wrote a book on how to overwhelm our economy and cause it to crash. They want to divide America off in 3 pieces. Bill Ayers is exposed on yahoo by an undercover agent saying he wanted to put 25 million Americans in death camps. This is not fear mongering. You can search for this stuff on the internet yourself. Being ignorant and making fun of fellow American citizens who are fed up with these socialists who are overthrowing our Republic is not going to fly. We have more unemployment, higher gas/oil, monetizing of our debt and resulting inflated dollar not able to purchase as much, negative credit rating, and famine staring us in the face. More corn is exported from this country than is used for food and feed for animals, and we are burning it up using it as ethanol. We only have 13-15 days reserve on hand. Famine is coming.

I don’t hate illegals. I don’t think they have a right to be here illegally. Illegal means illegal. I don’t see our laws being enforced. Instead I see our laws being changed and manipulated so that a socialist political agenda can be easily accomplished. How many illegal aliens voted in OUR elections last election? Yahoo and find out. Aren’t you concerned that we have a President who disses our laws and ignores the branches of government before waging a WAR with Libya? Or sending billions of dollars to Brazil for drilling there while not allowing it here? Who allows our debt to monetized, inflating our dollar so that it is on the path of failing? Who allows our government to spend like he is trying to crash our economy, while we receive a negative credit rating? It’s in the news. No fear mongering here. All of this is true. We are losing jobs and we are headed for famine. That’s the sad evil truth. These socialists have overthrown our government. Where is Homeland Security on Union Leader Lerner’s exposing Union plan to crash our banks and stockmarkets? Where is AG Holder on enforcing immigration laws so that our borders are secure from drug cartels, constant flow of illegal aliens crossing the borders, and the evidence of terrorists using those same crossings to get access to America? Where is Congress on impeaching Obama for waging war w/o going through proper procedures? Why isn’t our media asking any of these questions? Why is gas going up above $4.00/gal, and no one is asking any questions about it? Why are we exporting more corn than we use for feed for our animals and for our food products, and why do we only have 13-15 days of reserve left? Why does Obama hate America? And why does Obama hate the elderly and the unborn? Why does Obama hate those who are fighting illegals and defending themselves on their own land? Why are Americans asleep and allowing socialists to overthrow our government?

It really makes me sad to read all these hateful and sinful comments. I get that you hate the illegals, but what new and/or improved ideas do you have to fix this problem? I’m not being snarky: let’s have some real ideas that don’t include firing squads… Okay, that was a little snarky, but I think positive and humanitarian proposals would be nice.

With a name like Lopez what should we expect. The Hispanics all stick together be they legal or illegal. Ms. Lopez’s ignorance is showing because the USA has a path to citizenship. The problem is that the illegal aliens, and that is what they are, do not want to play by the rules or laws. They want special favors along with our jobs. The next thing that every state legislature should pass is a law requiring a photo ID to vote. It was just proven that 8,000 illegal aliens voted in the last election in Colorado. And then this week it has been proven that, and I forget the number, illegal aliens voted in New Mexico. This is a serious problem. We have our noses stuck in the elections of foreign nations yet our election process is corrupt. Let’s all push to get such a law passed before 2012.

For every 1 illegal alien with a “real” job are 10 more “associates” of the Mexican drug cartels - and the illegals know EXACTLY who they are and what they are here for. I tried to post, but it didn’t look like it did. Ms. Lopez, whose human rights are you talking about? The poor rancher who was killed while he was defending his land from illegals? The poor Americans who live paycheck to paycheck and barely make enough to pay for gas to get their butts to work so they can pay their taxes so that this administration can redistribute billions to Brazil for drilling there while we aren’t allowed to drill in our own waters (Cass Sustein, Obama’s regulatory czar, won’t give out the permits to Americans for deep water drilling here). Whose human rights are you talking about? I remember when I was layed off and I couldn’t get foodstamps, but illegals can get those and more. How is that fair, and whose human rights are you talking about? We do have a legal pathway to citizenship, but these criminals don’t care about our laws. And our current administration pisses on every American when they don’t secure our borders and continue to encourage more criminals to hop the border and get the freebees at every working American’s expense. This government can take its hands off my money and let me redistribute my own money myself. More than likely it’ll go in my gas tank and to Krogers for food. This current administration is buying votes with their illegal activities, and no one with power will call them out on it. They should all be in prison. Infidels. Human rights? You’re joking, right? How about my human right to work and get paid for what I do and to be able to have enough money to buy gas so I can go to work so I can pay my taxes? Why should anyone deserve automatic citizenship to America when they knowlingly and illegally crossed the borders into our country? Human rights? Are you serious? How do you work your way into being a citizen of America? You apply through legal channels, that’s how. Human rights? Ms. Lopez, are you an American, because I don’t see this as a human rights issue. Americans of all races need to unite on this. We must save our Republic. The Democratic party has been taken over by progressives who seek to devour our Constitution and spit it out into Socialism. This is not a black or white thing, nor a hispanic thing, that the progressives are trying to make it into. This is a matter of fairness and equality. Taking money that we earn by the sweat of our brows, in my case it is paycheck to paycheck, and redistribute it to people who are criminals who won’t follow our laws, is unconcienceable. I can’t afford to give up part of my pay check to redistribute it to people who have snuck into this country illegally and seek to live off of the rest of us who have to work for a living. And our current administration is working against our laws and against the American people by not securing our borders and by defending these same criminals and by assuring they will continue to hop the border because they know our administration is giving out freebies, medical care, automatic citizenship to their babies born here, foodstamps, and help with paying rent. This administration pulls out every trick in the book to get their butts elected including dissing our laws and pissing on Americans who are already struggling with inflation and higher energy costs and higher food costs. Something is going to break. We can’t keep it up. I don’t hate anyone, and I don’t judge anyone based on the color of their skin. God looks at the intent of your heart. Do you think God is happy with criminals sucking the sweat of those who are struggling? I think not. IMO AG Holder and President Obama should be in prison for what they have done, their crimes against Americans. Redistributing billions of our dollars to Brazil is in your face, slap across the face of every working American who is paying their taxes. What’s wrong with a one way ticket back across the border for those criminals? I couldn’t even get foodstamps or help when I found myself layed off, so why can illegals get all that and more? In what book is that fair? And why is Obama allowed to buy votes with our tax money? Why is AG Holder not doing his job and getting away with it? In our faces, that’s exactly what this is.

Hey Laura, the problem isn’t “labor intensive jobs” it’s the billions of dollars they have extorted from the taxpayers. Welfare, foodstamps, education funding, etc. Add to that the millions of dollars in taxpayer money (TARP)that funds the new migrant worker free clinic in New Carlisle. Migrant worker is short for living off of the state (taxpayers). Have you ever been to the grocery stores in New Carlisle and Medway??? How do people get these welfare cards without proof of citizenship???? And why am I forced to pay taxes to support non-citizens??? Obama unconstitutional refusal to secure the borders is outrageous. This will pass because the citizens of Ohio demand their representatives to uphold the law. The US is going broke and we have illegal parasites like this sucking taxpayers dry.

What Arizona is trying to do is a violation of Human Rights. I am sad to hear that some people in Ohio are agreeing. What is needed is a PATH TO LEGALIZATION STATUS so people can obtain their IDs legally and continue to take labor intensive jobs like landscaping, construction, restaurant washers,agriculture picking oranges, tomatoes, etc, clean hotels, homes, prepare “boneless, skinless chicken” for our tables,and not be subject to abuse by the employers.

The old question remains: “What part of ILLEGAL don’t they understand?” If something is illegal, it goes against existing law. So, WHY is it considered extreme by anyone that a State passes a law to enforce existing law? What is actually extreme is that we have a Federal govt that opposes enforcing existing laws . . to the point of filing an injunction to prevent said State from trying to enforce existing law. Who do the Feds represent anyway? It sure isn’t America or Americans. I wish all State pols had the guts and integrity that Arizona pols (the majority of them) have shown. But that is probably wishful thinking — they are too busy courting the Hispanic vote to support adherence to law.
