Fire deaths drop to 25 year low in Ohio
Fire fatalities hit a 25-year low in 2011 and dipped almost 18 percent over 2010, according to State Fire Marshal Larry Flowers.
In 2011, Ohio had 126 fire-related fatalities, down from 153 fire-related deaths in 2010 and below the previous low of 130 deaths, which occurred in 2007.
Flowers attributed the drop to the use of smoke alarms, safety education and firefighter training.
Smoke detectors should be placed on every level of a home and inside each sleeping area and tested monthly, the fire marshal’s office said.

@null, I never said I thought I was special. I do use my own email and post under the same name, though. That’s my beef. If you only post under “null”, more power to you.

What’s the matter there, SquirrellyGirl—- is this the only story that’s taking comments? It’s easy to tell that you posted the same drivel under three different names. You are ridiculous.

I am pleased to hear of the safety improvements regarding fires. As the other comments mention Obama, I will, too. His State of the Union was presented well. I only agreed with him on keeping jobs in this country and taking away tax incentives from companies that send jobs overseas. Otherwise, I think he is telling lies about the numbers of jobs created. The President’s associates such as Rahm Emanuel, Van Jones, Cass Sunstein, George Soros and Rev. Wright tell me where his mind is. Radical, socialist agendas that will create more policies and regulations that will limit our freedoms. I am strongly opposed to Obama for President and plan to vote for a conservative that will preserve our liberties.

I now live in Ohio- was from South East Kentucky. My people can see through Obama and the lies he puts forth. Yes, I support fire safety and the good people in their homes. We know what kind of man Obama is. He is a radical man out to change our whole society. I won’t stand for it! The man has to be voted out for the well being of America! Obama gets his money from a Marxist named George Soros and other wealthy radicals. Obama is getting money from unions and maybe even the money from the solar panel company that went belly up.

I am thankful that smoke detectors and fire fighter training lowers the amount of deaths in Ohio. Between union money and Obama, I have very little trust in publicity at this point. Obama going to Disney to increase tourism- I will never go to Disney again. Obama claiming big oil is putting out bad publicity about him. If it smells like poop it is poop. Obama is terrible and I am sick of him being our President mainly because he is corrupt and radical. Obama and the solar and wind has not created the millions of jobs he claims. How he can go on television and lie like that. I stand opposed to Obama and plan to vote him out this Fall.
