Strickland: Fisher “best qualified” for Senate

Gov. Ted Strickland said Tuesday afternoon that Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher is the “best qualified” Democrat among those considering a run for U.S. Senate in 2010.

Strickland was in Dayton promoting his budget and his education program. After a meeting at the Dayton Daily News, he was asked about Senate race.

Strickland said he had met with Fisher Monday, and they discussed the race for the vacancy being created by the retirement of Sen. George Voinovich. Strickland said he thought Fisher hadn’t made the decision to run yet, but was clearly considering it.

The governor also said he didn’t think Attorney General Richard Cordray would make the race, because he just took office. But he said that other Democrats are understood to be interested, including Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, Toledo.

Let’s see, how about we elect the bimbo budget director (Portman) hand picked by Bonzo Bush who got us in this mess. Then the idiot who is complaining about Democrats would have one less thing to complain about. That perfect sense; that is if you’re a desperate Republican!! Not!

I am proud of the Govenor for requesting the stimulus bill. So many people are suffering and the only reason Republicans say their voting against the bill is they want Obama to fail. Now the RNC has Joe the Plummer as the spoke person for the Party on the topic of Economy. We’re falling deeper even second and this needs to be done now. I’m just an American and Parties aren’t important it’s more about representing the citizens you were elected by. Your Govenor is looking out for the people and not playing politics. Check out the White House website to see how much Ohio will get and what’s it’s going to help.

Republicans are not voting against the stimulus package to see Obama fail. They understand that it is nothing more than a spending bill that sends few dollars to where they are needed to create jobs and that over 60% of the money is intended to reward those who supported their ascension back to power. Some of this is a natural consequence of winning the election. But, this goes way beyond what is healthy for our economy. Using panic statements to move this bill through quickly is the same thing that happened with the TART bill. Neither party is clean. They are both trying to cover their political re-election. So please don’t bore me with your party line. Neither party is truly representing the people and that must change. However, socialism is never the answer. It is an ideal with no practical application. This bill is a spending bill directed at establishing socialism into our most critical business elements. It is a very bad idea. I am worried that Obama is being controlled by someone who is not the friend of the USA. I think he wants to do the right thing as does our Governor. But are we helping the country grow stronger or just buying cheap votes for the maintenance of power? Ignorance can be changed…stupid is forever. Somebody thinks there are more stupid voters than ignorant voters. When you dive into the details of this bill, it stinks to high heavens. It is pork in the worst way. It is pork that will cripple our economy for years to come and devalue our dollar so that we have no say in the world economy. Get educated on basic economics.

Interesting comments and different views. I listen to Rush Limbergh say he was speaking for the Republican Party as their only job was to make sure President Obama failed. Several Law Makers supported Rush’s comments. Now the GOP has selected Joe the Plummer as the Economic Adviser as there was a meeting with all Repubicans, aides and Joe the Plummer. Joe gave his advice on how to handle this bad Economy that Obama caused. Joe suggested just kick some butt and that should take care of the problem. Not one American would have dared to even think about that action with former President Bush. If those words were said the Secret Service would come in as we have a Patriot Act, and President Bush must be respected even if we disagree. But now that policy is gone. Iraq got 1 Trillion US taxpayers money and now Iraq even has a 80 billion dollar surplus.
