Pre-sale tickets for the Mason High School girls varsity basketball tournament game, which will be played at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Lakota East High School, are on sale at the Mason High School Athletic Office between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Wednesday, Feb. 15 through Friday, Feb. 17. All ticets are $6 pre-sale, $7 at the gate. The Comets will play the winner of Wednesday night’s game between Mount Notre Dame and Anderson.

MAYSVILLE, Ky. — Franklin High School senior track and field athletes Jeremy Ruppert and Quenton Richards both competed in the men’s open division of the Mason County Open I track and field meet on Sunday.
Ruppert won the mile run in 4:59 and Richards finished second in the high jump (5 feet, 6 inches) and the 55-meter dash (7.07 seconds).

Lebanon High School held a signing ceremony this morning, celebrating five student-athletes who inked letters on National Signing Day. Jacob Bennett, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive tackle signed with Bowling Green State University to play football; Hayley Stegemiller, a middle distance and cross country runner, signed with Ohio University for track and field; Brandon Machen, a long stick defenseman, signed with Davenport College in Grand Rapids, Mich. for lacrosse; Landen Brown, an infielder, signed with Bluffton College to play baseball; and Kris France, a catcher, signed with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for baseball.

Hamilton High School offensive lineman is headed to West Virginia University.
Pankey, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound tackle, announced his decision this morning on National Signing Day. Pankey originally committed to Pittsburgh, but opened up the recruiting process when the Panthers changed head coaches.

Three Lakota West seniors — Blake Bell, Jordan Darland and Cole Stalker — recently made verbal commitments to continue their football careers.
Bell, a 6-foot, 265-pound defensive lineman, chose the University of California Pennsylvania over St. Joseph’s (Ind.), Indianapolis and Ohio Dominican.
Darland, a 6-1, 225-pound linebacker, chose Olivet Nazarene in Bourbonnais, Ill. over Malone, Georgetown College and Duquense.
Stalker, a 6-2, 205-pound linebacker, chose the University of Findlay over St. Joseph’s (Ind.), Robert Morris, Georgetown College and Lyndsey Wilson College.
Fellow senior Dawson Fletcher committed to Indiana last year.
West will hold a signing ceremony at 7 a.m. Wednesday and all four players also will be present at the GMC signing event Wednesday afternoon.

Middletown Christian Schools is seeking a junior high track coach and a junior high softball coach for the 2012 spring season.
Applicants must be willing to obtain an FBI/BCI background check and a state pupil activity permit.

Public all-session ticket sales for the 2012 Ohio High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament begin at 10 a.m. Monday.
Below is information from an Ohio High School Athletic Association press release.
The state tournament is March 1, 2 and 3 at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus. The cost for an all-session ticket book (five sessions) is $75 each for the Entry and Club Levels and $55 each for the Terrace Level.
Tickets can be purchased in person at Ticketmaster locations (including most Kroger stores), by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000 or by going on-line at ticketmaster.com. Ticketmaster orders will also include applicable service charges. To avoid service charges, tickets can be purchased in person at the OSU Athletic Ticket Office, located in the southeast corner of the Schottenstein Center with office hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Single-session ticket sales for the state tournament begin on Monday, February 20, at 10:00 a.m., with tickets priced at $15 each. Single-session tickets can be purchased by following the same procedures listed above for all-session ticket orders. A large quantity of single-session tickets is also expected.
The 75th Annual OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament schedule is as follows: Thursday, March 1: Session 1 — 3:00-Division III Preliminaries; 4:20-Division II Preliminaries; 5:50-Division I Preliminaries; 7:20-Division III Consolation Round 1; 8:00-Division II Consolation Rounds 1; 8:45-Division I Consolation Round 1; Friday, March 2: Session 2 — 10:00-Division III Quarterfinals; 10:40-Division II Quarterfinals; 11:25-Division I Quarterfinals; 12:15-Division III Consolation Round 2; 1:00-Division II Consolation Round 2; 1:45-Division I Consolation Round 2; Session 3 — 6:30-All Divisions Championship Semifinals; 8:50-All Divisions Consolation Quarterfinals; and Saturday, March 3: Session 4 — 10:00-All Divisions Consolation Semifinals; 11:00-All Divisions Third-, Fifth- and Seventh-Place Matches; Session 5 — 5:15-Hall of Fame Ceremonies and Parade of Champions; 5:45-All Divisions First-Place Matches.
