Former Comet, RedHawk still pursuing dream

Caught up with 2004 Mason High graduate Carl Richburg for our “Backspin” series in the Pulse, and he said he is still pursuing a professional basketball career — either here in the United States or overseas.

Richburg, who wrapped up his senior season at Miami University this past year, said he may have an opportunity in the American Basketball Association, whose season starts later this fall.

The goal, Richburg said, is to go overseas next summer.

“I’m still keeping my options open and continuing to work out,” Richburg said. “You never know when a call is going to come. God willing, that call will come.”

Richburg, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound guard, averaged 4.1 points and 2.1 assists as a senior at Miami.
